Water and fire

Ganice stopped and watched as a small kitten was crying under a stair. It seemed like it was left alone.

She wondered how much long it can live.

Solan followed her eyes and saw the little kitten that was trembling with cold and looked miserable. He felt and and wanted to help it but Ganice held his arm making him stop.

"Do not interfere."

She spoke in an emotionless tone.

"It's going to die." Solan looked confused.

"It's nature. Only the fittest will survive." She was still staring at the kitten while Solan glanced at her bad then at the kitten. Was she waiting how it's going to die?

He pulled his arm and walked towards the kitten. He picked it up and took out a napkin out of his pocket and wrapped it in the small piece of cloth that was not enough.

Ganice stared at Solan who turned towards her.

"Let's go to your place. It must be warm."

Ganice wanted to say something but could not say anything. She felt strange. Why he wanted to save that kitten?

She silently lead the way to the hote
