“What was that?” I yelled, my voice shaking with frustration. I couldn’t believe Emilia had let me down like this.

She was the only one I had trusted with my secret, the only person who knew exactly where I was. I had begged her not to tell anyone until I was far away, safe in Spain. And now, it felt like everything was crashing down around me.
