I wondered what type of person Valentino was. Judging from his workers’ behavior, they all feared him, and no one dared go close to him except his assistant, Eddie. Eddie is quite courageous, being the personal assistant of a monster, as I've heard.
"Mam, you need to be careful around the boss." A woman dressed in white entered the room with a cup of wine on a tray. She is in a moderate dress; she is the leader of the maids, I suspect. She dropped the tray on the side table before sitting down. on the bed with me. Not like I cared about that sort of thing. "So when do you plan on doing this?" I looked at the woman with anxiety written all over her face. What am I planning on doing? She turned back to continue giving me the cold shoulder. "The boss is a very strict and delicate man; not even I could get half as close as that to him. Please teach me your ways; I will do anything." Now I am confused. The boss is strict and has a cute and scary face, but what am I to say to this woman who knows nothing? The woman finally fessed up, telling me Valentino's origin. From her explanation, Valentino was betrayed by his family members after the passing of his parents. His siblings were taken in by his relatives, while he was left to suffer on the street to rot. Surviving became his main motive; stealing and other menial crimes were part of his everyday life. It was all for survival; he always reminded himself whenever he was caught and beaten up by the shop owners. Technically, he built himself up after an encounter with a rich man. He worked his way to the very top, becoming the CEO of Dragon Corporation. I lay on the bed, thinking about this man who saved me. Even though it is safe here, this isn't how my life is going to continue. I needed to pay the debt that kept pushing me down from achieving greatness—the debt that weighed more than I could ever carry. What if I told him about my situation? He could help me. "Nothing comes free." I kept on reciting to rid my head of those thoughts. My stay in the penthouse had a time limit, which was going to end sooner than I expected. Maybe I could take some cash and run away; that would make my job a whole lot easier. I needed to find a better way out of the mess my old geezer caused, even if it took me a while. "What the hell are you doing in the kitchen?" Valentino ranted in rage as he rushed into the kitchen. Startled, I dropped the plate in my hand into the sink, moving back to avoid any attack. I was in his territory; my safety depends on him. "Just washing the dishes, nothing much," I say, moving to the wall as he comes closer. His brown eyes were covered by his wet hair, which made him look far scarier than earlier. "You could have left the dishes for the maids; that's what I pay them for." His voice, cold and deep as usual, gave me the creeps this time as he smashed a glass plate with a single hit. Blood dropped from his hand, but no one dared come close to him, not even me. I didn't want to become broken like the plate, with either of my limbs lost. He pointed at me, touching my head with his index finger, letting his blood run down my face from his finger. "I have other plans for you," he says, snapping his fingers at once, making me tremble. Three hefty men in the red top came rushing, grabbing me and lifting me off my feet. My eyes blindfolded with a piece of clothing got me over the edges. What was he going to do to me? Am I still going to lose my pride as a woman? What were his plans for me? I had so many questions with zero answers. Escaping wasn't an option; my arms and legs were all tied together while in a sitting position. I was basically useless at this point. "Leave the both of us alone." I heard his voice call out to the men who ran out of the building without looking back. His hands ran over my face, taking off the blindfold and giving me my vision back. "What do you want from me?" I say confidently. I was frightened on the inside, but I couldn't show it; that would make me vulnerable. "I want a lot of things from you. Your body alone is a ten out of ten. Your beauty is marvelous. Your confidence is the A game. So you have everything I need for this operationn," he explained, sitting on an iron chair right before me. This man really has the guts to tell a young lady like myself about an operation; this is just too much to take in."I don't have anything to give to the likes of you. You rich men are all the same; all you want is derailing women off their part of graciousness for your own satisfaction." I blurted out, looking into his ferocious eyes. He cracked up, moving back a little before returning. "Think of it as a way of getting money to pay your father's debt and take care of your aged grandmother."" I looked into his eyes, shocked by the words that just came out of his mouth. He didn't have that hungry look in his eyes like the men at the club; it was hiding intel on what was to come. "Tell me what you really want from me," I spat in his face, trying to make him annoyed. Surprisingly, he just washed his face off with water. "If you think we'll start off this engaging session like this, then so be it," he says, ruthlessly ripping my T-shirt open to reveal my blouse. "Don't do this to me," I squealed, trying to fight back. "I've already started."He grabbed my blouse, almost tugging it out of place. With a smirk, he left me, going back to his seat. I stole a glance at him in dismay. He wasn't who I thought he would be; he was the same as every single man on this earth. "Next time someone touches you, make sure you check your body," body," he taunted, throwing a black metallic material toward me. I looked up to see him blowing his hair back into place with his mouth like a child. It is such a devastating act to remove a piece of metal."You could have just told me; I would have removed it myself," I exclaim, looking at the metal on the floor. He moved close to me once again, taking the metal and breaking it into pieces right before my eyes. He was like a superhuman or something. "This piece of metal is a tracking device; he was going to have you for himself forever, and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it," he retorts, standing up to take his leave. "Thank you,"I heard myself say as he walked out of the room. Stil
What am I kidding? Valentino wasn't going to rescue me after I escaped from the penthouse. I was all alone, left to face the agony I had pulled closer without knowing. I couldn't say a damn thing anymore; Dave had predicted this incident quite well.Tears escaped my eyes as the men came closer, ready to plunge their devastation on me for making them go through a lot. I kept on screaming, but they didn't shut me up. "This place is known as the alley of crimes. Any crime committed here would die here. You're all alone now, pretty girl." I felt something hard hit me on the neck, making me lose focus on my surroundings. My eyes were defaulting, closing with every accommodation I made."Some people don't learn until they are faced with circumstances that change their lives," his domineering yet attracting voice reached out to me as he walked into the alley."Don't think you can save her all by yourself; we aren't the typical goons you face on a daily basis." Upon hearing his name, I lifte
Sasha's POVWhat have I gotten myself into? I stood mouth opened agape not knowing what to say or what to choose.“Why are you doing all this?” I screamed at his face, not knowing what choice to make.I stood there, tears trickling down my face thinking beyond myself and about my grandmother. How she'd done everything under the sun to keep me safe and give me the love I never had from my deadbeat parents.“I'll choose my family, Valentino,” I said looking him straight in the eyes.Grabbing the briefcase, I asked for one more thing, a smirk forming around my lips. This was my chance to pay off the debt of my old geezer and give my granny a good life.“Promise me one thing.”“What exactly do you want?” He said, emotions missing from his gaze.“You've got some guts, I'm here taking away your problems and you're still emboldened to make a counter-ask?” He questioned, his right hand raised with a loud clap.In the blink of an eye, four hefty men came into the room.“Take her away. Throw he
Sasha’s POV“You'll have to take the hit yourself,” he said to me, an awkward laughter bursting out of his mouth “I thought you asked me if I wanted her in a….”“I know, I asked, but you'll have to carry it out,” he said. What have I gotten myself into, just a few months ago, I was trying to put my life together, almost had my feminine pride been taken from me, and now here I am asked to order someone's death. This isn't the life I had hoped for growing up. I know I lacked the love I deserved coming up from deep poverty and life from the projects. Maybe this is my destiny to end up in the worst of ways, or is this a chance to turn my luck around and rewrite my story one step at a time?“No! I'm no killer, I didn't mean to say that, Valentino.”A laugh broke through the room and there he looked at me deeply into my eyes saying, “Baby, don't you know what you asked is no small feat?”“Belinda is the daughter of the rulers of the underworld, her family are my biggest rivals and the caus
Valentino's POV“Take him inside,” I yelled as I pulled up from my Bugatti Chiron, maintaining maximum steeze. After all these years, I still had to put up with all these. Who told these men they could switch up on me? I paid my dues in blood and sweat and I wouldn't give anyone the chance to toy with me. And this fool chose to be a bad example. Well, I am a good teacher. Today, I will show him what I am made of, and if he lives to tell of it, he will tell it even to his great-grandkids.“He's the one who tried to take that arms deal from us from the Kazakhstan government,” Jared said, head bowed in respect.“This fool made me leave the comfort of my home, I left my wife for this?” I said turning to JaredI looked at the man who was kneeling before me, he was one of those who I had raised out of dirt shit. And here's how he chose to pay me back. I had brought him from the slums I once dwelt in when my family forsook me and left me for dead. I promised when I was made, I would help tho
Sasha’s POV"Hey! Stop…Ple... Please... St... Stop!" I yelled at the top of my voice, waking up in fear, which was visible in my sleepy eyes.I gulped down the saliva, took in a deep breath, and wiped off the sweat that washed over my head quickly with the back of my palm.I was dreaming about the incident that led me here. Although it's been six months, I still can't get over the horrible experience Dave and his men caused me.I heard my phone ring and I pulled myself through the bed sheet, raised my hands, and made a quick stretch.I took the phone, which was on the table, and saw no name on the caller ID on my phone's screen. I sat upright, calming myself from my nightmare, and answered the caller."Hi, who am I on to?” Sasha called out over the phone."Hello, Sasha... Get away from that place, your life is in danger." The stranger's voice echoed in my head before ending the call abruptly."Who are you and how did she get this number?" I queried, with concern welling within me.Sin
Sasha’s POVBefore she finished her words the door opened and I hoped that what we had said didn't get to him.Valentino walked into the room and met a silence, where a drop of a needle could be heard audibly. We were star-struck and mute at the same time. Rose adjusted her clothes and began cleaning my room with the towel on her hands. I had to signal her with a wink to my right eye to stop that. I'd learned from my “husband” and was now communicating through secret codes too.“Look who I have here with me. What are you two ladies up to,” he asked.I glanced at Rose and turned back to Alexandro. Thinking of what to say to him. I hastily put together a sweet lie that would fit after all.“Valentino, I asked her to help me with directions to Casino Royale,” I said knowing it would pique his interest because I overheard him speaking about getting there for a game earlier in the week.“Oh! I see. My darling Sasha now has her eyes on the boards. Hmm, do you know what I'm thinking,” Valen
Valentino’s POV I opened the door, asking Sasha to come in. She sat with me as I asked my chauffeur to take us to the casino. Sasha was all smiles and happy. And I loved it. I looked at her with keen interest as I pulled out the tray in front of me. I gracefully opened the box and took out my Cuban cigar, placing it on my lips. I looked at Sasha and remembered how she looked just like Felicia. Felicia had been the last woman I shared intimacy with. The old triad had taken a hit on her trying to get back at me. Everyone thinks being rich is all pleasure, but the pain that comes with it isn't a walk in the pack. Still, I felt at peace, without the pain, I wouldn't have gotten this far. I'd known pain and felt it inside out. Left for dead by family, deserted and betrayed by friends and those I'd wrongly called friends over and again. I seemed like a bee hive having only leeches and those seeking to pech and suck what was of benefit to them. “Valentino,” I turned as Sasha call
Valentino’s POV I promised if I found Sasha, I was going to make her my wife. This time for real and no longer would she be a placeholder. “Arrgh,” I screamed as Jared let me in on Sasha being kidnapped by that fool, Dave Martin. I had beaten him to a bulb and had him leave her alone. After all these years, all these moments, he had been lurking, laying siege to Sasha, and I..I foolishly let her leave into harm’s way. Sasha was a beautiful bird and a lot of predators were circling her, trying to take advantage of her. “Get me Dave on the line, Jared,” my voice hurried as I threw my fists in the air. “Dave Partner boss?” Jared questioned. I didn’t know if to smack his face or to laugh this over with but there were no jokes tonight. Only thing on my mind was getting Sasha back, here with me, whole and as my real wife. “Fuck it Jared, I’m talking about Dave Martin, get him on the line now. Didn’t you just tell me he’s the one who’s got Sasha and you're talking some gibberish.”
Sasha’s POV “Let me go…please..let..me..g…” I had a wood plank on my head and I lost consciousness. It was at this moment I wished I had not run away from Valentino. Problems seemed to follow me each time I was away from him. He was a refuge and a strong fortress for me and this time, more than ever, I hoped he’d found me. I felt a weight over my body as I slowly gained consciousness. Studying the environment, I opened my right eye slowly, as it hurt so much, and my head hurt so much to open even my very own eyes. I was tied up in a chair and I couldn’t tell where exactly I was but it didn’t seem like a warehouse. I could tell this was someone’s house but couldn’t tell who exactly it was. “I am blindfolded so how do I even know where this is,” I uttered under my breath. Maybe I should scream and some passer-by could come to my rescue or call the police and I could get out of here. I didn’t want any of those men who must have brought me here to find me here. They were damn mea
Sasha’s POV “What was that?” I yelled, my voice shaking with frustration. I couldn’t believe Emilia had let me down like this. She was the only one I had trusted with my secret, the only person who knew exactly where I was. I had begged her not to tell anyone until I was far away, safe in Spain. And now, it felt like everything was crashing down around me. I felt this deep pain in my chest like someone was pressing down on me with the weight of a thousand boulders. Everything I loved had been ripped away from me. My family was gone, my company had been stolen from me, and even Valentino—my Valentino—was no longer by my side. There was nothing left for me here. Nothing. But when I heard Valentino’s voice over the phone, it did something to me. It was like a tiny spark in a room full of darkness. My heart, which had felt so cold and broken, suddenly stirred with the smallest flicker of life. “I can’t do this anymore,” I whispered, talking to no one but myself. “I can’t stay here.
Valentino's POV I grab Emilia’s phone and frantically try to call Sasha, but I can’t get through. Frustrated, I look at Emilia coldly and ask, "Do you know where she is? What do you know about her?" "I... I don’t know," Emilia says, frowning. "Sasha is being super careful this time. She didn’t tell me where she’s staying. She said you might come looking for her through me, so she didn’t want to risk it because she thinks I can't keep a secret." Emilia pouts, looking all upset. "But it's late. Maybe she's already asleep, so not picking up isn’t that weird." Jared turns to me. "What about tomorrow?" I frown, thinking it over for a second. "Track her number. Find out where Sasha is," I say, determined. "Alright, I’ll get someone to track her phone and find her," Jared replies, nodding. Emilia just watches us, looking a little confused. She pouts again, like she’s thinking something over, but doesn’t say anything after a while. Finally, she shrugs. "You guys do your thing. I’m
Sasha's POV Fred and I are really funny after we drink too much. We keep guessing things and playing games, and we hold each other a lot.Gabriel looks annoyed as he tries to separate us, not wanting us to keep holding on to each other."Enough already! Stop it!" Gabriel frowns and says, "You’re both drunk.""We're not drunk!""Yeah, you’re the one who's drunk!" We both stare at him for a moment and then start laughing.Gabriel looks frustrated as he watches us, knowing he can’t change our minds.Luckily, Fred and I pass out after drinking. That gives Gabriel some time to clean up after us.Over the next two days, I talked with Gabriel and Fred about starting a film company in the United States. In the end, Gabriel agrees that Fred and I can work together to plan this film company.…Valentino's POV I keep searching for Sasha, but with Gabriel and Sandra causing problems for me, I haven’t heard from her at all.Jared comes to my house and tells me what he’s found during his search.
Valentino's POV Sasha disappeared, and for two days, I, Valentino, searched for her, but I couldn’t find her anywhere.Jared was looking everywhere too. He tried all kinds of things, but it felt like someone was always getting in the way. Many surveillance cameras had been hacked, and some videos were missing, so he couldn’t find Sasha directly.I was left with no choice but to use the simplest method: sending a lot of people to ask about Sasha’s whereabouts. All over the city, people were taking photos of Sasha, trying to find out where she was.But no one knew where she had gone.It was like she had vanished completely.I was losing my mind. I couldn’t believe Sasha had disappeared from my life, and I just couldn’t accept it.“It’s time for you to eat, sir,” one of the maids said, sounding worried about me. I had lost a lot of weight in just two days. “Even if you don’t eat, your wife might not show up. You should have a good meal. I don’t think she would want to see you like this.
Sasha's POV I looked at Gabriel like he was an idiot. "If I went to be a cook with this kind of skill, I'd probably get myself killed..."Seriously, who doesn’t know how to make hot pot? It’s just tossing everything into a pot to cook. When I was studying abroad and craved hot pot, I used to make it in my dorm all the time."Really? It all looks so delicious. You seem pretty talented. How could you get yourself killed? If anyone dares to mess with you, I'll take care of them first," Gabriel said, grabbing his chopsticks to sneak a taste.Once I finished setting the table, I told him, "Sit down and eat.""Alright," he replied. But just as Gabriel was about to sit, the doorbell rang."Who is it?" I asked, looking at him."I'll go check. Maybe it's some big star!" Gabriel joked as he ran to the door, chatting briefly with whoever was outside. From the sound of it, it seemed like more than one person had shown up. A little curious, I peeked out and saw a familiar face. Why is he here?I
Sasha's POV The maid stopped me as I was leaving and asked, "Where are you going, ma'am?"It seemed like she was confused about why I was leaving. Everyone always thought my husband and I were close, so this sudden departure must've seemed strange. Maybe they thought Sandra had some evil plan to push me out.The maids didn’t trust Sandra. They knew she wasn’t a good person, and it seemed like they wanted me to stay.I smiled at the maid and said, "I'm leaving. I'll see you later."I tried to walk out with my head held high, pretending everything was okay. But inside, I was breaking. I was sad, hurt, and didn’t want to leave at all.As I walked out, I could feel Sandra’s eyes on me. I knew she was smiling, satisfied with herself. With me gone, she probably thought she could hide better and make Valentino forget about me.The maids were glaring at Sandra, clearly not happy with her. But she didn’t care. She knew she would be the lady of the house soon and could treat them however she l
Valentino's POV I came back home, but I couldn’t sleep all night.Early the next morning, my phone rang. It was my grandfather telling me to come back to the old house.“I got it. I’ll be there soon,” I replied before hanging up.After changing into a fresh set of clothes, I went to Sasha’s room. She drank too much last night and stayed up late, so she was still fast asleep. Her sleeping posture was a bit messy, almost childlike, but she looked so cute.I tucked her in before heading downstairs.“My wife is still sleeping. When she wakes up, make sure to prepare some breakfast and soup to help with the hangover. If she’s not feeling well, call a doctor to check on her. I’m heading out.”“Yes, sir.”I drove off, leaving the maids to continue their work. I overheard them talking about yesterday and how drunk my wife had gotten. But one thing was clear—they knew I cared about her. They’d make sure she was well taken care of.I pulled up in front of the old house in my car. As I stepped
