Chapter 01. The Unloved Daughter

“Wear the nicest dress you have. And don’t forget to dress up as beautifully as possible.” Alpha Pascal said to his favorite daughter. He looked at Jennifer with a warm smile. “Tonight, an alpha from the Western Eclipse will come to this place.”

Jennifer bought a look of disbelief. But a second later, she smiled with impatience. She played with her long hair as she envisioned the famous alpha of Western Eclipse.

Handsome, charismatic, and respected by the rest of the pack. If Jennifer became the alpha’s mate, it would certainly increase her father’s power and authority.

“Do I have to wear a dress too, dad?” A soft voice came from a girl who was putting a cup of coffee on the table. She was wearing shabby clothes. Her face was pale because she wasn’t wearing any makeup. Unlike Jennifer, who wore thick makeup that covered the dark spots on her face.

“Are you out of your mind?” Jennifer snapped in exasperation.

Pascal’s face hardened with anger. He stared at Lara with a piercing gaze. He didn’t say anything, but his expression made Lara look down.

“You think you’re beautiful?” Jennifer gave Lara a disgusted look. She looked at Lara from head to toe to correct her sister’s appearance. "Your dreams are too high! You don’t deserve an alpha like the alpha of the Western Eclipse!"

Jennifer always received attention from her father. Lara, on the other hand, was treated like a servant. Although Lara was also part of the family, her father never cared about her and whatever she did was always seem as wrong.

“But who knows, one of the members of that pack is my partner.” Lara said while imagining that the possibility could happen.

“You don’t need to do anything. Stay in the room. Don’t come out until I tell you to.” Pascal ordered in a cold tone.

‘But I’m also your daughter’ Lara wanted to say, but the words caught in her throat. Fear of being beaten by her father made Lara choose to remain silent.

“Go back to work. Don’t make me hit you again!” Pascal glared at Lara. She immediately looked down.

“Yes, dad.” Lara bowed respectfully before walking out of her father’s room.

“I think we should lock her up in the warehouse, dad. I don’t want Lara’s presence to jinx me.”

Jennifer didn’t want to be rivaled by her sister. Moreover, Lara was more beautiful than her. And Jennifer certainly knew that. She didn’t want Lara to be the center of people’s attention.

“You don’t have to worry. I’ll take care of it.” Pascal said as he clenched his fists. He wouldn’t let Lara ruin his daughter’s future.

The long-awaited night finally arrived.

Pascal’s residence was filled with members of the Western Eclipse pack. The figure standing next to Pascal became the star of attention. Yes, that figure was Mike Dorgan. The charming leader of the Western Eclipse.

Jennifer approached her father. She wore a blood-red dress that matched the color of her lipstick.

“Welcome, sir.” Jennifer greeted. The smile on her face widened. Her gaze was full of admiration.

But Mike gave her a cold stare. There was no smile on his face.

“This is my daughter, Mr. Mike.” Pascal introduced Jennifer.

Mike gave Jennifer a quick glance. He wasn’t interested in her at all. And the expression on Mike’s face made Jennifer feel disappointed. She had dressed up as beautifully as possible, but what she got did not match her expectations.

‘Damn it!’ Jennifer cursed silently.

“Let go of me!”

Two men dragged her arm. They were about to take her to the warehouse as ordered by their leader.

“Please, let me go.” Lara pleaded. Her arm was starting to hurt. But they ignored her.

“It hurts.” Lara’s voice weakened. Tears were falling, but no one cared. Even her father wouldn’t care if Lara complained about members of the pack being rude to her.

After several minutes of being dragged mercilessly, they finally reached the warehouse at the back of her father’s large mansion.

They immediately threw Lara’s body on the floor. But at the sight of Lara’s beauty and seductive body. Their dirty thoughts crossed their minds.

“Wait! How about we play around with her first?” The black-haired man gave an idea. The smile on his face showed his dirty mind.

The man next to him was actually interested in Lara as well. He thought for a moment before finally looking at his friend with a nod of agreement. Their leader wouldn’t care about this girl. So whatever they did wouldn’t matter later.

“What do you want to do?” Lara stood up and took a few steps back. Her voice trembled with fear.

“Relax. We won’t hurt you.” The man looked at her with a lustful gaze. And it made Lara feel sick.

Lara thought hard. She wandered around, looking for an opening to escape.

“Don’t come any closer!” Lara shouted loudly.

“I’ll kill you if you dare come any closer!” She snarled at the two.

They looked at each other and a second later burst out laughing.

“Hey! What are you guys doing?” A man interrupted. He frowned at the warehouse door that was still open.

“Why didn’t you lock the door?”

The two men turned their heads towards the source of the sound while Lara quickly picked up a nearby wooden block.

Lara slammed the wooden block into the man’s head. She hit him so hard that they both fell down. The man standing at the door was stunned.

Lara ran straight at him and swung the wooden block at him. But the man managed to dodge. He caught Lara’s arm, gripping it so tightly that she winced in pain. But Lara was not out of ideas. She bit the man’s hand.

“How dare you bite me, bitch!” The man cursed.

Lara saw this as an opportunity. She sprinted as the man moaned in pain. She would not win against that man.

“Damn it! Get up!” The man shouted at his comrades, who were groaning in pain. “Catch her before she causes more trouble!”

Lara continued running without looking back. Before she knew it, she was in the main courtyard of her father’s mansion.

And her steps stopped when she bumped into someone’s body.

“I’m sorry.”
