Jeremy’s fingers hovered on the screen of the phone, contemplating his decision. “Is there a need for it?” He couldn’t help but wonder.

If he could have his way, he wouldn’t bother, but with their new relationship status—whatever it was, it was only right that he knew.

If he were the one in that position, he would be happy if he was told the truth, no matter how bad it was.

And that was the only reason he was scrolling through her contacts to look for Alex. He found it easily since she had saved his name with Alex.

Something he was grateful for.

If Ruby had saved it as anything else, maybe a pet name, he would have lost it.

“This is for Ruby.” Jeremy said underneath his breath before he clicked on the contact and called him.

He held his breath as the phone rang, suddenly believing he had done the wrong thing and praying he didn’t pick up the call.

He should have prayed harder because after the fourth rang, the person on the other end picked up the call.
