“What?” My voice came out louder and higher than I intended it to be. I stared at Alex with wide eyes, my mouth hanging low, as I tried to process what I had just heard.

As if this day could get any worse.

Not only did I meet someone from my past, but it turns out that Alex may have been part of the said past.

“When? how? Where? When??” I was like a leaking faucet, muttering every word I knew.

“Calm down.” Alex had the guts to say and even dared to laugh. There was nothing that was funny about this.

“Just answer the questions!” I burst out, my anger taking the better part of me.

“I would suggest you watch your tone and remember who you are talking to. If you could recall, you are the one in the wrong.” Alex warned me in a deadly voice that was making me sit up straight.

“I am sorry for letting my emotions get the better part of me.” I said in a small voice, bowing my head to make me appear smaller.
