I watched Clarissa dial Genieveve's number, her hand shaking as she held the phone to her ear.

She sighed in frustration when the number wasn't going through, her movement becoming more intense. I had blocked Genieveve's number from her phone earlier, making her unable to reach her.

The weight of the coronation was resting heavy on my shoulders, but the longing in Clarissa's eyes as she spoke of the trip made guilt gnaw at my gut.

"She's probably busy and will call you when she's ready," I said, trying to assure her.
