Yeneffer
His eyes were made of red orbs, a contrast to the grey look I remember. His brows were deep and full, spreading across and emitting a dangerous glare. His face was the most beautiful yet most poisonous I had ever beheld. With the size of his body included, the muscles and the veins, I knew this was no longer the scared little boy I used to protect. Eight years ago, the Sunfyres attacked the Havenmoon pack. They destroyed everything, everyone. When my father and other bluewinters got there to help them, it was all over. It was too late. The Sunfyres left no survivors, it was either death or abduction. Yet there was one boy who had survived. Ten years of age, he had been able to hide himself from the Sunfyres and survive the bloodshed. The bluewinters found him among the pigs where he hid. Father took him home and decided to raise him as his son. We became best friends. I fell in love with him. Then after many months, one day he disappeared. "Vermino..." I called his name again, not believing that this was real. My family took him in when he lost his parents many years ago. We treated him like family. How could he be a member of the Sunfyre pack? How could he hunt my people down, killing us like animals? "I see you still remember my name." He muttered, taking slow steps towards me. I would have retreated, but a giant tree stood behind me. I had nowhere to go as he flickered those fingers through my hair. "You used to have black hair. It's now mostly white. And you used to smell like rose flowers." I felt him inhale my scent, his fingers gently pushing my hair to the back of my ear. For some reason, my body shivered in fright. There was something about him, something that stood for dominance. He noticed my shaking hands. "You used to be fearless. What have you become?" He shook his head, showing disappointment. What have I become? I should be the one asking him that? What happened to the sweet innocent boy with a baby face who played with me in the flower gardens? The boy who stole the little fish father caught just to return her back to the sea, "to meet her family". The boy with the good heart. What happened to him? "Please Vermino, let me go." I pleaded, hoping to find some pity in him. Afterall we used to be best friends. "My sister needs me. She can't be out there on her own." He used to listen to me all the time. He would still listen to me now, right? At least this once. In a flash, I felt my back tighten against the rough bark of the giant almond tree. Vermin's huge hands squeezed hard around my neck, leaving me to gasp for breathe. "I belong to the great Sunfyre pack, the only true pack of werewolves. And you are my prisoner. I will take you back to father and you shall serve as one of our slaves, just like all weak girls like you." His eyes glowed violently as his voice hardened. Footsteps came from somewhere and with my eyes barely open, I could see the sign of other people's presence. "Master, the alpha wants you back. He has sent out men to find you. We have exterminated the members of the Bluewinter Pack, including their alpha. Our mission is complete." From what I could see, there were five other people with us. But with Vermin's hand still tight around my neck, I couldn't observe their faces. "Exterminated, you say." He laughed. "But what about this one standing here?" Silence was the response. None of them dared to talk back at him. "What about Adrian Bianco?" When he mentioned my father's name, my eyes forced open. I stared at the messenger despite the pain I felt, hoping he wouldn't say what I feared. "Dead, master. Killed by the alpha himself." I felt the grip on my neck loosen, a smile was in Vermin's eyes while tears came falling from mine. Every energy left in me vanished as I fell on my knees. "Good. I guess our work here is done truly." Vermin commended the messenger, he was really happy to learn of my father's death. Why? Why did he hate my family so much after everything we did for him? "Take her and bind her. We are going back home." He commanded. "Also, there is one more who ran down that hill. Find her, capture her and bring her back. We need more slaves for the Slave Island... And find me some clothes." "Yes master." With hard kicks to my stomach and painful pulls of my hair, I was forced off my knees by his servants. Before they took me away, I took one last stare at Vermin. Our eyes met one more time. And this time, I no longer felt fear for him neither did I recognise him as an old friend. He was now enemy, a bitter foe and an evil man. "You will regret this, Vermino." I promised. "I will have my revenge". "Get moving, bitch!" I was kicked by the punk who was in charge of taking me away. My hands now tied with heavy chains, I was pushed and kicked back and forth along the bushy path, even struck with chains till we reached a large, truck like machinery waiting for us. There I saw other girls whom I knew from the pack. They had been captured too. They all looked beaten and battered. There were no boys. I searched for Diana, begging the moon goddess that my sister would not be here. She wasn't. We were all loaded into the machinery, chains around our hands and feet. The machine lifted slowly from the ground into the sky. As the huge door closed, I took a last look at the remains of my pack home. The mountains, the forests, the village. All in smoke. Father's body must be out there somewhere. "Goodbye..." I whispered. For a few minutes, the flying truck soared the sky. From where I sat, I could feel the speed we flew at. Then it came flying down again. The moment it touched the ground, we could all feel the difference in atmosphere instantly. We looked around at each other, certain that we were now a long way from home. I could see immense fear printed on the face of every girl. The huge door opened as slowly as it had closed. Behind it was an assembly of young women in a straight line, waiting. In front of them was a much older woman, looking a little above her forties. "Hello, girls." She greeted. "Welcome to the Slave Island!"VerminWhen I was informed that we were finally going to attack the bluewinters, I knew the time had come that I would see Yeneffer again. I had waited for years, knowing this day would finally come. All the other packs had been destroyed, scattered into tiny fragments across the face of the earth. The Bluewinter pack was the last one standing, no allies. It was time for it to go down too.In the battlefield, I tore down their men into shreds. My wolf was a kind they had never seen before. The serum invented by the pack doctor was quite a wonder. With the extra power it gave me, each wolf in my path went down in total annihilation. I announced myself to the bluewinters again, not as the boy whom they all tried to murder eight years ago, but as a man who had come with the sword of brutal justice.I was happy for a while, then everything changed in the blink of an eye when I beheld her from afar. YenefferOne after the other, we came out of the flying truck to behold a different world. Every girl had an astonished look on her face. Growing up in the Bluewinter village, we had always heard stories of how grand and mighty the Sunfyre territories were. Colours of red and white, giant buildings and great exhibits. These stories were forbidden rumours, and the alpha would punish the whisperers who carried them because these people were usually spies sent by the Sunfyres to plant disunity among us, to plot our downfall. And now they had succeeded. We were now slaves to the evil Sunfyres.I also heard terrible stories about the slave island. How innocent captive girls are being used to the comfort of the Sunfyre pack members, in every way possible. It was a terrible, traumatic story. As I stepped bare footed on the cold soil, I felt a strange sensation crawling up my skin. As if something was awakened within me. It made me stop in shock. "Keep moving!" A violent push from one of
Yeneffer"Mom... I promise I'll find her... I'll find Diana..."I opened my eyes slowly, tired from a dream. The scent of burning tinder welcomed me back to life.I could feel my back against dry leaves, I was sleeping on a mat made from plants. My head seemed heavy as I tried to look around, searching for my mother. She was standing by me just now, telling me to find my sister. Then I remembered it was just a dream. My mother died seven years ago when she went in search of Vermin who disappeared after the Sunfyres attacked us. We had defeated them and had won the battle but Vermin was nowhere to be found. VerminWe had searched for three days, following the scent and the trails that Adrian Bianco left behind. Each time we thought we were close, he would only manage to vanish again. That man knew well how not to be found. But no matter how much his determination to evade, I still had to find him nonetheless. It was a command from father and I had to show him how worthy I was of being his heir."Are you sure we should be here?" Darius was a little uneasy when we landed secretly on the slave island. Nobody knew we would come here at all, in fact everyone thought we were deep into the human city, searching for Adrian Bianco."Don't worry, Darius. Nobody will find out. We'll just complete our objective and disappear like we never appeared to begin with"."Why would you even think he would have the mind to come here?" Darius shook his head doubtedly. "We, the Sunfyre pack control everything north, south, east or west of this island. He would be a fool to ever come here."Darius was not wrong
Yeneffer When I watched those two kiss so passionately in front of me, my blood began to boil for some reason. I despised Vermin so much after everything he had done, I didn't care if he was dating this sly bitch with a wicked heart, yet I felt a terrible pain in my heart. No Yeneffer, you shouldn't be feeling this way, I told myself. But it only grew worse. I couldn't help it. I gazed at them with all the hate in my heart, all the hurt in my eyes. He noticed, but he didn't care."But why are you here? You didn't say you were coming." Lysandra Marble was leaning on Vermin, her arms around his neck flirtingly."One of the bluewinters survived." Vermin shifted his gaze at me. The door opened. Two figures entered the room, holding their laundry baskets."Yeneffer! You are back! I was so worried!"Lily quickly placed her burdens by the way and came to inspect me. It has been several days since I last saw my sister.I managed a smile that said I was fine. Yet I still felt the uneasiness of the unknown. Lily saw me to the mat and sat by my side. Her companion was Eliora, but she did not say a word. She went about her business, arranging things."Nothing. She only warned me." Eliora did not respond, she did not even spare me a look as she walked to the only window in the room, checking for something."I said who was out there?""No one." She breathed reluctantly as she walked past me again. She went to observe Lily where she lay fast asleep. "Do not wake her.""But outside...""Forget what you saw out there." She had now confirmed that Lily was sleeping. "Tomorrow, we can take the abandoned flying truck and get the hell out of here."What? I was stunned, not knowing what to say."Do you not want to escape again? I see you have the spirit. Have you suddenly lost it?""But you said...""Forget what I said. I have been planning this for sometime now but I couldn't trust anyone. I think you have what it takes. Besides, I can't be successful all on my own."Words could not express my joy.
