Yeneffer

One after the other, we came out of the flying truck to behold a different world. Every girl had an astonished look on her face.

Growing up in the Bluewinter village, we had always heard stories of how grand and mighty the Sunfyre territories were. Colours of red and white, giant buildings and great exhibits. These stories were forbidden rumours, and the alpha would punish the whisperers who carried them because these people were usually spies sent by the Sunfyres to plant disunity among us, to plot our downfall. And now they had succeeded. We were now slaves to the evil Sunfyres.

I also heard terrible stories about the slave island. How innocent captive girls are being used to the comfort of the Sunfyre pack members, in every way possible. It was a terrible, traumatic story.

As I stepped bare footed on the cold soil, I felt a strange sensation crawling up my skin. As if something was awakened within me. It made me stop in shock.

"Keep moving!" A violent push from one of the guards. He followed with a hot lash of his whip, pressing through my skin like hot iron.

Along with the other girls, I walked in a straight line as the middle aged woman continued to address us.

"My name is Sheara, but each one of you shall call me mistress. In the Slave Island, I am your alpha, I am your luna. I am your goddess. I am the one you answer to."

Her voice was cold and dark all at the same time.

"I know most of you are angry that you are here right now. You used to be princesses, queens, beautiful maidens, happy servants all the way back home. But this is not your home. Whatever you used to be in your packs, it is over. You are now slaves and there is no escape!"

Sheara possessed a tone that inspired terror. The girl in front of me was all shaky, vibrating with every step she took.

I recognised her from the bluewinter village. She was the hand maiden to the alpha's daughter and her best friend. Her name was Lily, and she was a very shy one. Lily was just a couple years older than my sister, this place was not the right place for her to be. Or for anyone else.

"Don't worry. We'll be fine." I held my hand to hers from behind, just so that the guards would not notice but enough to calm her down.

Then suddenly we heard a loud bang come from the front of the lines. The moving line paused. Everyone raised their gazes, alarmed. One of the girls in front was holding her face in pain as she knelt down slowly, courtesy of a slap.

"It's Rachel..." Lily whispered shakily as the guards gathered to strike the girl continuously. I recognized Rachel from the pack.

The one who stood over Rachel was a strikingly attractive young lady whose face I had never seen before. It was a face so uniquely endowed. She had dark violet hair and her face held a perfect beauty, irresistible. A group of servants stood behind her submissively. A little cat with violet fur crawled around her feet and between her legs. In her violet eyes was deep hate that I could feel from afar as her stares landed back on me.

"Anyone else wants to ask questions?" The lady looked at us all, hoping to make another example.

None of us dared to speak. This girl looked just the same age as I. Yet she could command an atmosphere of terror among us. She strolled slowly down our lines, peering each person in the eyes. None of the girls wanted their eyes to meet with hers. They all lowered their gazes. Not me. I would not lower my gaze because of her. Never! I decided I would stare back at her the same way she stared at us.

She was only two girls from me now and my plan hadn't changed. Then as she came really close, the cat jumped suddenly at Lily's shaky legs. In horror, the frightened girl threw her legs against the creature defensively. Out erupted a loud gasp of shock from the servants of the mean girl.

"She's so dead..." I heard one say.

The cat yelled out in pain and ran back at its mistress, cuddling against her legs as if to report Lily. The girl walked closer, her eyes full of terrible rage.

"You..." She muttered, ice and fire.

"I'm sorry, but I have an aversion to cats..." Lily quickly explained, her lips trembling.

"Ohh right? You are about to have an aversion to life!" She raised her hands in the air, ready to strike. But she stopped mid-air, seeing that I had stepped between them.

"It is true. I know her very well. She truly has a fear for cats. Please forgive her, it will not happen again." I pleaded on her behalf, hoping it would quell the anger of the violet haired lady. It only worsened.

"And how dare you to stop me?" She scoffed in disgust. "Who the fuck are you, slave?"

Before I could form a word, my tongue was left flying within my cheek as her heavy slap landed on my face. It was so painful that staying on my feet took so much effort. How could a girl's attack be this painful?

"Move!" She commanded, eyes gorging with evil rage. But I was not used to following orders unless it came from my alpha.

"I can't." I muttered intentionally. Maybe if I pissed her off, she would forget about Lily.

"You bitch! Deal with her!" She ordered her guards and immediately they stormed forward towards me.

Huge blows and painful kicks. They swept my feet off the ground as they continued, I only heard a few whispers among the other girls, terrified now.

"You dare to stand in my way, you bitch! You are going to suffer!"

The assault continued for a while, until a faint voice called it to a halt.

I could barely keep my eyes open to see that Sheara had walked towards us.

"Lysandra, I have to speak to you." She said.

The violet haired lady shrugged. "No mom, I am busy. I need to teach this lowlife a lesson of her life. She is just a slave, how dare she defy me?"

Sheara put an arm on her daughter's shoulder, turning her to face her. "You have enough time to continue the torture of this stupid bitch, my dear. But right now you have more important things to focus on. You will be our future Luna, you have to complete your training, not waste your time on these set of misfits."

Lysandra suddenly wore a smile. It seemed she really enjoyed the idea of being Luna.

She threw a ghastly look at me on the floor as I bled in pain. She bent towards me, muttering such that only I could hear. "This is just the beginning, bitch. By the time I am done with you, you will crawl at my feet and beg for mercy. I will make you suffer. I will make you my personal dog and you will be eager to obey every single word I say. Just wait and see."

As she walked away, followed by her devious cat the cause of all this, I was helped on to my feet by Lily who sobbed silently for me.

"This is my fault. I'm sorry..." She cried.

"Don't worry. I was always going to get into trouble." I forced a smile.

Sheara's voice ransacked the atmosphere again.

"Now girls, follow me!"

She took us into our parts of the Slave Island, ready to start a new life of torment.

The first step I took, my legs stopped functioning and I fell to the ground, losing awareness. The strange sensation had become stronger.

"Yeneffer! Are you alright?" The last words I heard before losing consciousness.

  • Born Enemies, Fated Mates   Malcolm Wolfsbane

As much as I was shocked by Eliora's sudden betrayal, I was even more suprised at the identity of the man before me. Malcolm Wolfsbane. He was the first born son of Alpha Denver, he was a notorious name among the tongues of the warriors of my pack. His ruthlessness, his evil heartedness, his merciless nature. They say he was the true heir to the Sunfyre alpha in blood and heart. The true Alpha. I remembered the red eyes which watched me from the darkness. That was the same pair of red eyes glaring at me now. They belonged to only one person all along - Him. He had watched me for so long. He had set Eliora after me, at least that was the only explanation for this turn around."You..." I could not believe Eliora. "You traitor..."If she had been working for Malcolm all along, then what about Lily? Maybe Lily had not betrayed us afterall. Maybe it was all part of Eliora's sly plan. Maybe something had happen to Lily... Poor Lily! What had they done to her? Why would Eliora even betray me

The paper which Lily found earlier glowed under the light of the dim lamp, held tightly by Eliora. "We have to go quietly."The key was with me. I held it close. We were going to really escape. The three of us. "Where is Lily?" I checked around."Maybe stuck in the dreamworld because she is too scared to wake up." Eliora rather focused on the things she needed. I bent over to Lily's bed."Come on, Lily. It is time to go." When I reached for her under the thick blanket made of animal skin, her body pressed deep like soft feathers. In an instant, I threw away the blanket. There was no Lily, just a line of pillows."She is gone!" I could not believe my eyes. Maybe the night was playing tricks on me. Maybe it was

Maybe he still had feelings afterall and he didn't want me to get hurt."You have to stop all these games, Yeneffer. I will not be there to save you another time." He said, edging closer. "I have kept your identity a secret long enough. There is nothing I can do if you keep announcing yourself with your stupid plans. • Born Enemies, Fated Mates   Feelings of a Young Alpha

Several thoughts had gone through my mind. It felt like an eternity for those doors to open. I recalled the stories I had heard about Lysandra's father, Derek Marble the blood beta. He was a vicious beast, just as evil as his alpha. He who would eliminate anything and anyone that stood in the way of his ambitions. According to the stories, he once decapacitated his own brother a long time ago so as to be the next beta of the Sunfyre pack. According to the stories, Derek kept his brother alive as a mercy but took away his legs to show the world how weak he was. Derek was no normal werewolf, and he was not one to mess with, especially by an enemy's daughter like me."Let me go!" I tried my best to pull away from Vermin, but he would not budge. Once again, his strength was too much to overcome. "Stay still, Yeneffer. You want to get revenge on Lysandra, don't you? For everything she has done to you? What better way to do that than to make her think her boyfriend has cheated on her? You
