"Go! Run to the safehouse!!" Another loud bang took the air by shock. The earth shook violently beneath us as her soil splashed roughly onto our skins. Father growled, spreading his entire body over the both of us, protecting us from the impact. By the time the dust settled, the safe house had become one with it. Then he faced me again. "Take your sister. Go as far away from here as possible. Do not look back! Do not stop!" As he pushed us away, his naked body shifted quickly into his mega sized wolf form. "Go!!!" The last word he uttered as human. It continued into a long growl as he turned around in fury, ready to tear the limbs of the ones after our lives. I took Diana's hands by the wrist and we both made a run for it. The farther we made it away, the more I fought the terrible urge to take one last look at what had become of my pack. The Bluewinter pack was known for its long history of valour, strength, bravery and immense resilience. It was our pride, it was our honour. We were respected for it by every other pack. Every other wolves. Except for the Sunfyre pack. They had always envied us, despised our spirit even way back in the books of record. They used to be ordinary rogues full of envy and hatred. Just some unpleasant and unwilling wolves who loved to break the rules of the moon goddess. But that was in the past. Over the past thirty years, way before I was born, the Sunfyre pack had grown immensely in strength and power. By some terrible work of destiny, they had found the gift of order and cooperation, and they had conquered the world of humans. According to the news that manage to reach us in the mountains, the president, the prime minister, the government cabinet, the entire human army and every other person of interest now answered to Alpha Denver. Their plan was to destroy every other werewolf pack, a greed to reign supreme over all. Now they hunted us with human weapons made by human scientists. They amplified their wolf strengths with some strange technology which we had no chance against. They tore into our packs during our weakest moments and sought to destroy us from within. I would probably not see father again. In order to save the life of his daughters, he had sustained several injuries from that explosion. How would he be able to fight against those over powered beasts? "Yeneffer!" Diana panted heavily, trying to pull her hand away from mine. "I'm tired. I can't go on anymore." "We have to keep running, Diana. You heard father, we can't let our guard down. The Sunfyres might be behind us." "But... Please..." She was super exhausted, wet with blood, sweat and tears. It pained me to see my sweet innocent little sister in such hurt. She was just thirteen years of age and I was seventeen. Neither of us had gotten our wolves yet so running all this way to the city was a tough task. "Okay... Just a few minutes." I reconsidered, feeling tired myself. We were now in the thick forest and the sounds of battle was no longer reaching our ears. Maybe the battle was over, or maybe we are just too far away now. "Do you think we will win?" Diana's little voice asked. I knew the chances were close to zero. Even though my pack prepared so well for this encounter, we were taken unaware by the Sunfyres. They came when we least expected it as though we had a traitor among us who misdirected us. Also we had fewer fighters. So many good men and women died in the several random attacks that the Sunfyres did before this big battle. Lastly, we couldn't stand their advanced technology. "I don't think so..." I muttered without realising. "So do you think daddy is dead?" My eyes shot red this time. My father was the strongest man I knew. He had survived many battles beside the alpha, he wouldn't just die easily. Yet the chances that he lived after going back into that death field were invisible. "He could have just come with us. Why didn't he?" My sister sobbed painfully, and I almost joined her in tears. Holding her hands, we remained in a sad embrace, knowing that we might have no more family in this world. Then I heard the leaves rustle. Two dark red eyes peered at us from behind the trees, and a silent snarl emitted slowly. The air suddenly grew cold, and I could feel the hair behind my neck stand in terror. I knew this feeling, it meant we were in trouble. "Let's go!" With an amount of strength I didn't know I possessed, I pulled Diana off the ground swiftly and made a run for it. A loud rumble ensued behind us afterwards. We were being chased! "Go! Go!! Go!! Don't look back!" Over the tall plants which stuck out their pointy branches, the pointy branches which took a bite of our skin as we raced on, ignoring the pain, and the slippery grasses which threatened to pull us off our feets with every step. Now we were racing through a downward slope. It seemed that the monster chasing us was only having fun with our misery, else we would have been torn apart by now. I took a quick look to be certain, I shouldn't have. The size of the wolf I saw was unimaginable. The shock made me trip over and land face down, my grip of Diana breaking away. Rolling and rolling we both did till my belly collided with a huge tree stem and my sister continued on out of sight. Diana reached the foot of the hill where she returned to her feet, searching for me. "Yeneffer!!" She cried. "Go... Go!!!" I screamed with every last breathe in me. If my fate was to die in the hands of a rogue alpha, then so be it. As long as my sister escaped this tragedy or the sight of it. She hesitated at first but when the loud roars came over my head in full speed, Diana had no other choice, her eyes corrupted with the tears that filled them. "Goodbye sister..." While she scurried away, I whispered to myself, standing up to face the beast who was now directly at my back. Turning around, I came face to face with an alpha wolf who shared more semblance with a demon from hell. Whatever those humans came up with, it probably removed every ounce of humanity left in werewolves to create this monster. To make them stronger, they made them complete animals. Fangs gnawed at my face, only stopping by the breadth of a hair strand. I was waiting to be killed, eyes closed in readiness. It took a while of silence, after which a strange yet familiar voice followed. "Yeneffer Bianco, you certainly look just the same way." It was a cold voice, sending shivers down my spine. But I opened my eyes anyway, I wasn't ready to be intimidated by my own enemies. Right in front of me, naked and bare in every form, was a tall muscular figure of a man wearing the familiar face of a childhood friend. "Vermino?" I recognised him at once, my girlhood crush.YenefferHis eyes were made of red orbs, a contrast to the grey look I remember. His brows were deep and full, spreading across and emitting a dangerous glare. His face was the most beautiful yet most poisonous I had ever beheld. With the size of his body included, the muscles and the veins, I knew this was no longer the scared little boy I used to protect. Eight years ago, the Sunfyres attacked the Havenmoon pack. They destroyed everything, everyone. When my father and other bluewinters got there to help them, it was all over. It was too late. The Sunfyres left no survivors, it was either death or abduction.Yet there was one boy who had survived. Ten years of age, he had been able to hide himself from the Sunfyres and survive the bloodshed. The bluewinters found him among the pigs where he hid. Father took him home and decided to raise him as his son. We became best friends. I fell in love with him. Then after many months, one day he disappeared."Vermino..." I called his name agai
VerminWhen I was informed that we were finally going to attack the bluewinters, I knew the time had come that I would see Yeneffer again. I had waited for years, knowing this day would finally come. All the other packs had been destroyed, scattered into tiny fragments across the face of the earth. The Bluewinter pack was the last one standing, no allies. It was time for it to go down too.In the battlefield, I tore down their men into shreds. My wolf was a kind they had never seen before. The serum invented by the pack doctor was quite a wonder. With the extra power it gave me, each wolf in my path went down in total annihilation. I announced myself to the bluewinters again, not as the boy whom they all tried to murder eight years ago, but as a man who had come with the sword of brutal justice.I was happy for a while, then everything changed in the blink of an eye when I beheld her from afar. YenefferOne after the other, we came out of the flying truck to behold a different world. Every girl had an astonished look on her face. Growing up in the Bluewinter village, we had always heard stories of how grand and mighty the Sunfyre territories were. Colours of red and white, giant buildings and great exhibits. These stories were forbidden rumours, and the alpha would punish the whisperers who carried them because these people were usually spies sent by the Sunfyres to plant disunity among us, to plot our downfall. And now they had succeeded. We were now slaves to the evil Sunfyres.I also heard terrible stories about the slave island. How innocent captive girls are being used to the comfort of the Sunfyre pack members, in every way possible. It was a terrible, traumatic story. As I stepped bare footed on the cold soil, I felt a strange sensation crawling up my skin. As if something was awakened within me. It made me stop in shock. "Keep moving!" A violent push from one of

The scent of burning tinder welcomed me back to life.I could feel my back against dry leaves, I was sleeping on a mat made from plants. My head seemed heavy as I tried to look around, searching for my mother. She was standing by me just now, telling me to find my sister. Then I remembered it was just a dream. My mother died seven years ago when she went in search of Vermin who disappeared after the Sunfyres attacked us. We had defeated them and had won the battle but Vermin was nowhere to be found. So mother decided to go look for him. She never came back. When we found her, she was dead, attacked by a Sunfyre. Vermin finally showed up but I wouldn't even take a look at him. That man knew well how not to be found. But no matter how much his determination to evade, I still had to find him nonetheless. It was a command from father and I had to show him how worthy I was of being his heir."Are you sure we should be here?" Darius was a little uneasy when we landed secretly on the slave island. Nobody knew we would come here at all, in fact everyone thought we were deep into the human city, searching for Adrian Bianco."Don't worry, Darius. Nobody will find out. We'll just complete our objective and disappear like we never appeared to begin with"."Why would you even think he would have the mind to come here?" Darius shook his head doubtedly. "We, the Sunfyre pack control everything north, south, east or west of this island. He would be a fool to ever come here."Darius was not wrong
Yeneffer When I watched those two kiss so passionately in front of me, my blood began to boil for some reason. I despised Vermin so much after everything he had done, I didn't care if he was dating this sly bitch with a wicked heart, yet I felt a terrible pain in my heart. No Yeneffer, you shouldn't be feeling this way, I told myself. But it only grew worse. I couldn't help it. I gazed at them with all the hate in my heart, all the hurt in my eyes. He noticed, but he didn't care."But why are you here? You didn't say you were coming." Lysandra Marble was leaning on Vermin, her arms around his neck flirtingly."One of the bluewinters survived." Vermin shifted his gaze at me. "Adrian Bianco."My eyes widened in shock. My father was alive afterall? Of course he was! It would take more than a few Sunfyres to defeat Adrian Bianco. I didn't know when my shock became a smile and my smile became a giggle."Are you laughing? At us?" Lysandra noticed, much to my dismay. But I didn't care. My l
The door opened. Two figures entered the room, holding their laundry baskets."Yeneffer! You are back! I was so worried!"Lily quickly placed her burdens by the way and came to inspect me. It has been several days since I last saw my sister.I managed a smile that said I was fine. Yet I still felt the uneasiness of the unknown. Eliora did not respond, she did not even spare me a look as she walked to the only window in the room, checking for something."I said who was out there?""No one." She breathed reluctantly as she walked past me again. She went to observe Lily where she lay fast asleep. "Do not wake her.""But outside...""Forget what you saw out there." She had now confirmed that Lily was sleeping. "Tomorrow, we can take the abandoned flying truck and get the hell out of here."What? I was stunned, not knowing what to say."Do you not want to escape again? I see you have the spirit. Have you suddenly lost it?""But you said...""Forget what I said. I have been planning this for sometime now but I couldn't trust anyone. I think you have what it takes. Besides, I can't be successful all on my own."Words could not express my joy.
