King of the Rogues

After driving for hours my eyes were puffy and red. My throat was so dry and sore from crying and yet all I could do was hold my stomach protectively and silently sob.

It was after we had passed a horrific battle at our northern border and entered the rogue nation when the driver finally slowed down and drove normally. He didn't speak much but kept glancing in the rear vision mirror looking at me with what I assumed was pity. He had offered me a bottle of water but I was not going to drink it!

We had been driving for hours when I cracked and finally took a sip. My throat screamed in happiness when it was finally quenched. However then another problem arouse. I had to use the bathroom.

"I need you to stop or I'm going to make a mess back here." I crocked out in my now horse voice.

He looked at me again before speaking for the first time. "We will be there in less than 30 minutes can you wait?" His voice was oddly soft.
