Danielle’s POV:
My ears rang, my vision blurs. It was probably the shock of my father’s reaction that prevents me from seeing things clearly, now I’m seeing two of my father’s face instead of one. All I see is his eyes, and the color in them reflecting from the light—blood red. The eyes of an Alpha on the verge of going for his kill. I have never seen him so furious, not even once. My father always told me once an alpha goes mad, he won’t be able to control what his Alpha wolf does next. He growls murderously, and I fear this is one of those moments my father was telling me about. My wide eyes go to his in slow motion, my chest heaving up and down so heavily in realization of what he’s just did. Never. Never in my life did I have to take a hit from my own father until they flashed me in the news, butt-naked and consequently embarrassing my family, our pack. He at most had only given me a stern look each time I make a mistake, but this is different. I could see bloodlust through his eyes as he was looking straight at me. So pungent I could almost taste it. I shakily haul myself to my feet before a painful slap landed on my left cheek, followed by a sick punch to my chest that sends me flying backwards and landing on the far wall of the room. Somehow, my wolf protected me from the impact as she forced my back to shift mid-air, and I scream. I haven’t shifted yet, and it’s unknown for a wolf to force it. Yet, I was also grateful as the impact would have smashed my head into a pulp. Seconds later, I hear the sound of feet tapping on the floor as my mother rushes to the kitchen and lets out a piercing scream when my father grabs my hair, hauling me across the floor of our living room. My vision goes even more blurry, and I can barely make out my mother shoving at him while he continues to throw hits onto me. “Viktor, please,” My mother begs, but he wasn’t hearing any of it as he rained punches on my body. ‘Curl yourself into a ball!’ My wolf suddenly demands. ‘What? This is not the time for games, Adeline,’ I bark back, outraged she’d use this time for her little games. ‘Do it!’ She snarls. She had never been this aggressive, but I know it is not without reason. My wolf always warned me about things out of my control, and it always ends with me regretting not following her advice. She was always right, and I had a feeling I needed to trust her on this one. So, as I open my eyes and see my father with his fists high in the air I curled up into a ball on the floor. I was lying on a small pool of my own blood, and I wondered how long the punches will stop just as my mother snaps. “Viktor, you’re going to kill her!” she snarls, pushing him away, only to be followed by the sound of my father’s deadly, murderous growl. “Stay out of this, Rose,” he growls, pushing her to the side but she remains firm, shielding me from his sight. “No! Viktor, she’s our daughter.” Mom begs, and the look of disgust on my father’s face made me flinch. “I did not raise a whore for a daughter,” he growls, though his voice as he said the words was shaking. I peer up at him, my eyes opening only halfway from the wounds I received. I see my father’s trembling body in front of my distraught mother, her arms flailed out in her desperation to protect her pup. Tears streamed down my face, unable to get out a word from my bloody lips when my entire body freezes from his next words. “She is not my daughter,” he says, turning around as he walks away. The way he looked at me with utter hatred and disdain shattered my soul, playing in my head on repeat like a time loop. I stare after his back, my lips quivering while my mother whips around and dashes to my side. She gasps, looking at my face. “Oh, mi amor,” Mom murmurs, choking back a sob as she swipes her finger on my eye. It was gentle yet I winced. I try to blink, but I couldn’t. Suddenly, my mom’s face fades into a blur, before disappearing completely in darkness. The world goes black, like the light was switched off in my world. Panic surges through me, and I move my hands, trying to grope for my Mom who I feel is sitting right in front of me. Her body shook violently, and droplets of her tears fall on my arms. “Mom… I can’t see…” I let out through a whisper. I hear Mom gasp, cupping my face. “Sweetie, look at me,” she urges, though I could tell fear from her voice. “Mom, I can’t see!” I shake my mother’s arms in panic, my body going through shock and pain before everything around me just collapses. “Danielle!” she keeps calling my name over and over, the sound fading into an echo in the tunnels of my mind. But there is one I cannot forget. ‘She is not my daughter,’ That was the last thing I heard other than my mom screaming for help before my entire body turns numb. The dark turned a hundred shades darker, and my world just shattered all around me, and I watch as it falls apart.Waking up, I hear the sound of monitors beeping all around me. I groan. The throbbing ache in my head refuses to go away, and it did not help that I couldn’t open my eyes all the way either, even when I tried to.
A hand slips into mine suddenly, and I snatch my hand back, only to regret it a second after when I see it was my mother. I could see tears dried up around her eyes as she forces a smile. “Mom?” “Thank goddess, you got your eyesight back,” she sighs, but my attention was all over the place as I examined the room I was in. I pinch my brows. Why was I in the attic? Not far from my bed, I see the pack doctor jotting down something in his small, green notebook. He kept glancing over at me, furrowing his brows. I turn to Mom, who watched me closely with her pale olive eyes. “Danielle, I have good news,” my mother suddenly beams at me, but I must have lost the will to feel any excitement knowing no good news would save me now. Not after what I did, not after that video clip that ruined me. Mom breathes in, looking at me. “You’re pregnant.”1 - I don't want to be AlphaDanielle’s POV:“I don’t want to be Alpha.” There. I said it. My father freezes instantly, his one hand up in mid-air as he had been keeping me up to teach me all about the basics and whatnot on becoming his pack’s Alpha.“I beg your pardon?” He raises an eyebrow,“For the last time, Dad. Can’t I enjoy my youth far away from here before you hand me over the title?” I sigh, sitting down on his fancy leather couch. I folded my arms across my chest.“I want to travel, see the world, maybe even go to university. Dad, you know I always wanted to be a teacher.” I hear Dad sigh, heavy footsteps coming to me before the couch dips as he takes a seat beside me.“I know that. You told me a thousand times.” He chuckles. I pout.“But we’re talking about the pack.” He says.“Of course. More important than your own daughter.” I mumble.I know I was being a bitch. Yet, sometimes I just wanted my father to listen. My father, Alpha Viktor Sage, is the present Alpha of He
Danielle’s POV:I groan and will my body to move, only to find moving so much more difficult when you spent the last night heavily drunk. And with who I can’t even remember. Hell, I can’t even remember at all what had transpired last night and why am I in this room? Did I crawl my ass back to bed only this isn’t my bed. My bed is fuchsia in color and is covered with fur, yet why am I seeing cool gray and with a lot of red stains, I might add. Groaning, I force my body to sit up, rubbing my eyes.Hangover’s a bitch, that much I could say.“Good morning, mate.” I jump and yelp, the shock of a deep, gravelly voice sending me back and I fall flat on my ass to the bloody carpeted floor. What the—I quickly snatch the duvet up when my eyes drop on my naked breasts. Turns out they’re not the only ones naked because so is my cutely shaved vajayjay. Getting up, I wince, my mouth shaping into a small ‘o’, realizing what I had done. What he had done.“What are you doing here?!” I all but scream
Danielle’s POV:He growls menacingly, cutting me off. A smirk plays on my lips. So he is afraid of something. The feared, most despicable Alpha is afraid of rejection. I continue, “reject you, Alpha Kaden Kyson of the Blood Hounds Pack.” Leaving the hotel, I am carrying my heels with one hand and the other my purse and phone. Glancing around, I furrow my brows when I realize I am not in my father’s territory. I feel eyes glaring daggers at me from somewhere above, and I look up, only to make eye contact with the same asshole I rejected. His strange onyx eyes glinted mischievously as he stared down at me.“You will be back, mate.” I remember him say calmly and confidently after he’d pinned me on his bed, planting kisses everywhere on my skin before I shoved him off. The truth is, I was shocked with the way my body reacted to his touch. Inexplicable sparks danced across my skin, erupting from all the places he had touched. “Admit it. You cannot escape the bond,” he purred. I shake
Danielle’s POV I rejected him because he’s an asshole who stole my virginity and my innocence. So why the hell is he here? “Dad?” I scrunch my brows, watching Alpha Kaden walk in. His head nearly hitting the door with how tall he was. He towered over us, including my father. I whip to him. “What is this?” “This,” my Dad gestured both of us to sit. He continued, “Is a negotiation.” I shake my head in refusal. “Alpha Viktor,” Kaden spoke, yet I kept my eyes fixed on my father. “Thank you for the invitation.” “You know what this means,” My father says, repeating the same words Kaden said in the phone with him. My brows furrowed tighter. Clearly, I am the only one left out. “Can you please tell me what is happening?” I ask, frustrated that my Dad will leave me out such important information that would have to require him to invite his biggest rival, Alpha Kaden, into our home. My father gestures for us to sit. Kaden takes his, and I huff before walking over the couch and plop
Danielle’s POV:I jump, whipping around when the towel is snatched off my hand. “Kaden!” I growl at him, but he smirks at me, his eyes trailing slowly down my naked body still dripping wet. “Get out!” I snarl, my eyes darting to the other towels before he stepped into my line of vision. “Let me get one thing clear, mate,” he growled the last part as if to intimidate me, but I glared at him head-on. His brow raise. Leaning in, he breathes in my scent and growls. “You will respect the mate bond, it is sacred.” I scoff at his words. “Did my father sent you in here to change my mind? Well, bold move mister, but it is so not working,” I roll my eyes at him and shove him away, meaning to move towards my bathroom closet to get a damn towel because I’m bloody cold when he drags me right back in the same position. What the hell is his problem? “I am your mate,” he snarls. “So? I rejected you.” I say a-matter-of-factly, loving the way his lip twitched in his anger with my defiance
Danielle’s POV:My father has been in and out of the house this week. He doesn’t tell me but I know he’s been out meeting Alpha Kaden, negotiating pack lands and pack assets. I could tell easily when he moves past me. One whiff of his scent and my wolf perks up in attention, salivating and wagging her tail for her mate. She has been howling insufferably in my ears, forming a pounding headache for the last hour. ‘Ok, that’s enough,’ I finally snap. ‘This is all your fault,’ ‘How is it mine?’ I ask, appalled my own wolf would blame me for something I did. Not that this is the first, still. ‘Did you have to be a bitch and reject our mate?’ she snarls. I roll my eyes. ‘And do you really have to be such a drama queen?’ ‘At least I had the brain to think through things, before randomly blurting out a rejection that could well damage our life!’ ‘Don’t tell me you’re still sulking over that. You know who he is. A guy like that? Nothing good will ever happen with us being mated to s

Strange, I remember talking to Dex about Alpha Kaden and my father’s plans on marrying me off to him for some alliance. When I came to, it was dark outside, and I was already in Dex’s car’s passenger seat. “Wakey wakey sissy,” I hear Dex whisper into my ear. The smell of his perfume brought me back to my senses.“Will you stop calling me that?” I snap at a surprised-looking Dexter leaning his arm on the wheel. He was in the same white fit shirt and shorts when I came to his apartment.“God, I’m sorry, what time is it?” I groan, touching my temple and rubbing small circles to soothe it. I close my eyes. I have this worst headache ever. My head is pounding and for some reason, my
