Chapter Eighty Five

Two days later

Sinjin stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows in his office, engaged in a heated conversation with the Editor-in-Chief of a news agency that had recently published a slanderous article about Eds. A knock at the door interrupted him, and he turned, expecting Gary, his temporary secretary. Instead, it was Mallucia, holding a bag of Chinese food.

The online hate against Eds had only worsened, and Rhett had informed Sinjin of a decline in customers at her shop because of it. The thought of her suffering due to his actions pained him, and he knew the only way to help was to prevent any further posts from being published.

"If you don’t want your agency to go bankrupt, I suggest you discipline your staff," Sinjin warned the editor before abruptly ending the call. Then he turned to Mallucia, raising an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought we could have lunch," she replied, holding up the bag. "I remember you like Chinese."
