Alexander's P.O.V
I missed her. I missed her so bad.I didn't think I would regret my actions this much but after twelve hours without Daisy, life felt different.I could barely get some sleep because of the guilt of what I did to her. My wolf was restless as well and I could feel his pain. However, I had the rejected the mate bond and it helped with the pain greatly. Daisy was the sweetest soul and didn't deserve such heartbreak.Despite what people said about our relationship, she was kind and selfless. She made me a better version of myself and helped me understand life in a better way.I couldn't bear to see the tears in her eyes as I said those words to her. I was further broken when she realized I betrayed her with her best friend, Martha. But there was nothing I could do and I wished I had done thing's differently.Although we had dated for three years, our sexual relationship suffered severely. Daisy insisted on waiting for her mate and as much as it angered me, I agreed to it. I thought she would give up on keeping her virginity for her mate but her decision never wavered.I was the future Alpha of the pack and could have any girl I wanted. Instead, I was stuck in a relationship with Daisy who didn't want to have sex with me.Several girls threw themselves at me, hoping for a chance with me. And one of them was her best friend. It was easier to reject Daisy than to admit I was cheating on her for over a year with Martha. It was easier to let her find someone else than to admit that Martha was pregnant for me. I was going to hurt her anyway, it was better she ended up with someone better than me.I wanted her back. She was my mate and my last chance at true love. But she was nowhere to be found.None of the guards I sent last night found her at home. Her mother was worried sick and none of her friends had seen her. I was terrified that she had hurt herself because of me. I would never forgive myself."Alex," Martha purred, standing by the door. She was the last person I wanted to see right at the moment. "We have guests.""Send them away. I don't want to see anyone." I chipped. "Any progress on finding Daisy?"Martha scoffed bitterly. "I can't believe you're so bothered about her. I'm pregnant with your baby and that's all you should be concerned about.""I don't want to do this with you right now." If she wanted to piss me off, she was doing a great job. "You may leave.""If you're so gloomy about her, you should know she has been found." She said and I rose to my feet subconsciously. "And she came with company."The look on her face told me that something was off. "Who are they?""The Lycan Prince from the Crescent Pack." A deep frown was etched across her face. "She was probably trying to run away and crossed their borders. The Prince is waiting."In thirty years, it was the first time that the Lycan Royals were visiting our pack. A visit from the Lycan's was unusually dreaded unless invited. And now, the Prince returned with Daisy. What trouble did she get herself into?I found myself in the meeting room in five minutes and like Martha said, the Lycan Prince was indeed waiting for me. And right beside him, was Daisy. She didn't look bad like I expected. I had expected to see her drained of all happiness and joy. I had expected to see her looking tired of existing but instead, she looked....almost happier. There was something about the smug smile on her face that slightly terrified me. Whatever she was up to, I had to find out and stop it."Welcome to our pack. I am Alpha Alexander, the leader of this great pack. I'm quite surprised to receive your visit but you're highly welcomed." I said, bowing to the lycan prince."Thank you, Alexander." he replied, rather unblinkingly. "I believe you're as happy as I am about this visit."I didn't feel that way but I nodded. "Sure." Then I turned to Daisy who hadn't said a word till I showed up. "Where have you been? Your mother has been worried sick about you. Do you think you can simply run off without telling anyone?""She's fine." He bit back immediately. "And we're not here for you to scold her. We're here to talk business."Why was he suddenly so defensive about her? Why wasn't Daisy speaking for herself? How did they meet and why was she here with him? She hadn't even spared me a glance for a minute and I couldn't take it.Something about her had changed. She looked different, smelt different. It was almost like she smelt like......him. The thought crossed my mind but I quickly dismissed it. There was no way it was possible. With a fake smile on my face, I turned to the prince. "Sure, Prince Landon. I will be delighted to discuss business with you. It's not often that we're graced by the presence of a Lycan Royal such as yourself. Please tell me all about it." I took a seat right beside Daisy and she shifted uncomfortably. The prince slipped an envelope toward me. "Open it."At that moment, I could tell that something was definitely wrong. Whatever it was, it had everything to do with Daisy.I peeled open the envelope to reveal a letter. My eyes widened with shock as I read it."What? Letter of resignation from the council?" I asked no one in particular. "What's going on?""You've been given six months to resign from your position as this pack's Alpha. Your beta will lead the pack once you have stepped down and you will not maintain any official position in the pack nor have any recognized status."My mouth slackened and I was at a loss for words. How dare he? How could he come up to my pack to make such claims? Resign? There was no way in hell I would do that."You've got to be joking." I sprang up from my seat. "It takes months of council meetings to come to a decision like this. You couldn't have possibly done that overnight. I am the rightful Alpha of this pack and I would not take this insult from you.""Careful with your words, Alexander.""You have no case to evict me from this position. This is merely an act of war." I didn't want to believe that I was going to lose my position as Alpha. I stole a glance at Daisy and a bright smile was plastered across her face. She had to be responsible for everything. What could she have possibly told him and why would he believe a low Omega?"You're unmated and have formed no true bond with your mate. You're weak and a danger to this pack." He said calmly. "Now, should I continue with the list of your offenses?""No no no." I was beginning to get desperate. "I have a mate. I have a mate." Nodding my head and smiling, I moved closer to Daisy who once again created a distance between us."She's my mate." I tried to hold her but before I could blink, the prince held my hands in such a way that I thought they would break off. "I will mark and mate her today. If that's what you want, I'll do it!!" I yelled in pain."I don't want you to touch her, not even a strand of hair on her head." He tightened his grip on me. "And do not dream of marking her because she's no more yours." He growled and I could feel his anger rising."This is all a misunderstanding." I begged. Then I turned to Daisy with pleading eyes. "Tell him. Daisy, tell him that you love me. Tell him you're my mate and we'll fix things like we always do. Tell him you're mine, please!!!""But Daisy remained unmoving in her position. The only indication that she heard me was her smile and the small scoff which left her lips."Listen to me carefully." The prince warned. "She's mine now to cherish and love. You don't deserve her at all and you never will. You have six months to resign or I will leave with your head on my next visit. Stay away from her. Do you understand me??"I nodded nervously but the words leaving my mouth said otherwise. "Daisy, please don't do this to me. Please, please, you're going to destroy me."And then she took a step toward me and I thought she had finally decided to forgive me. I believed she was going to smile and tell me everything was going to be alright. But instead, she said. "I, Daisy Channing, reject you, Alexander Harding, as my mate. I severe the wolf bond today and I wish to have nothing to do with you."I slumped to the ground as the weight of the rejection hit me.“Daisy, don’t do this to me,” Alexander cried. “We can still fix this. We can still get back together. Forget about Emily, I’ll make you the Luna of this pack.”But I was no longer interested in him or the mate bond. Immediately I rejected him, I felt free and my wolf welcomed the desire to find someone better for us. “It’s over between us, Alexander.” I voiced, my eyes narrowed in anger. I was fighting my emotions and my wolf’s desire to rip him to pieces. “If you ever try to touch her again or even come close, I promise that you’ll not live to tell the tales.” Landon growled at him in anger. Watching how possessive and protective he was of me was truly beautiful. Why did I have to settle for Alexander who cheated on me with my best friend when I could be with Landon? After all, Alexander would lose his position as the Alpha and he would have nothing. That was enough revenge for me. We left the pack house and I decided to go see my mother. I knew she was worried sick about me an
“I’m so sorry baby,” my mother rushed to my side and hugged me. “I’m sorry that he did that to you.” I expected her to question me or try to get a better understanding of the matter. But she believed me completely. “It’s fine, mum.” I replied, trying to stay strong. My heart still churned with sadness whenever I thought of Alexander. “He didn’t deserve me or my love.” “That son of a bitch had the guts to cheat on my daughter. After three years, he decided to cheat with your best friend?” She fired back, wiping her tears. “I expected better from Emily. She was like a daughter to me. How could she?” “She insulted me at the pack house. I didn’t think she would ever betray me like that.” I responded. “How are you feeling? I know it must be hard for you right now,” she held me gently, peering into my eyes with worry. “I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to protect you. You must not let your wolf hurt because of this. The moon goddess will heal your heart. I pray she gives you another chance at
The ride back to Landon’s pack was quiet but filled with emotions. He could feel her fear to start a new life with him. Despite her silence, he could feel how tensed she was because she was close to him.But his inner wolf wanted to take control and stake his claim on her. He wondered if she could feel his desire for her in the car. He wondered if she knew how crazy she made him feel, how she could easily mess with his control. But he knew she was hurting so he decided he would keep his hands off her. He would let her heart heal from her recent heartbreak. His forehead burst into a hot sweat as he repeated that rule to himself. He wasn’t going to claim Daisy. He wouldn’t, not yet.She needed to be protected–even from her own soft heart. “Where are we?” She breathed, looking out the car’s small window when the car came to a halt.He looked down at her shining eyes. “My pack.” His smile was warm. “My home.” They were standing in front of the palace surrounded by beautiful buildings.
Daisy’s POVI truly didn’t believe that Landon was going to kiss me. Not until I felt his mouth against mine, rough and hot, hard and sensual like silk. I gasped, closing my eyes as I felt the caress of his embrace like a thousand shards of light. He pulled me more tightly against him, and I felt his power, his strength. I titled my head back, deepening the kiss as my hands twined in his hair. My eyes squeezed shut as I felt the hot, plundering sweep of his tongue, felt the velocity of the world spinning around me. Without breaking our kiss, he lifted me into his arms and carried me to the bed. When he set me down at the edge of the bed, my eyes found his crotch. He was already hard, he wanted me and I didn’t want to deny him my body. He ripped his lips away from me and lowered them to my nipples, sucking my delicate skin through the shirt. He tugged the shirt and took it off me with one quick movement, leaving me in nothing but my panties. With a growl and a fierce kiss, he grip
BACK IN LIGHTCREST PACKThe palace of the lightcrest pack was swarming with guests and elders from different packs. The palace walls, usually green and dull, was fully covered in fresh paint. Servants and maids could be seen running around to get things in place for the ceremony—the crowning of a new Alpha. Marcus, the soon to be Alpha inspected the hallways every minute, his eyes pointing out everything that wasn’t perfect. After all, it was his big day. The day he would be made the Alpha of the pack. The ceremony was slated to start by noon and it was only quarter past ten but Marcus was shivering with nervousness in his room. It was not easy to lead a pack, of course, but it was far harder when the previous Alpha was still alive. “You know you don’t have to be scared of him.” His mate, Lilian told him as she wrapped her arms around him. He pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her lips. “I know.” He ran his fingers through his hair anxiously. “It’s just that this is the first t
“It’s done.” Alexander informed Martha through their mind link. “Marcus and Lilian are dead.” Alexander leaned close to Marcus body, which was shrinking with each passing minute. “Hmmmm. I’m sorry this had to happen to you. But I can’t let you take over my pack. I wish it was someone else, I truly wish it was.” A knock sounded on the door, jolting him from his thoughts and Alexander opened it to let Martha in. With two large duffel bags in her hands, she grinned widely when she saw Marcus and Lilian lying dead on the bed. She wrapped her arms around Alexander’s neck and gave him a long, wet kiss. “You did it! I’ve always known you were a man of your words.” His lips quirked. “We have to get rid of the bodies before anyone finds out. In less than an hour, the entire pack will be expecting them at the coronation hall.” “Okay. They are beginning to smell already.” Martha giggled and gave him one of the bags. Lilian meant nothing to her. She would kill her again and again if it was co
GOLDEN STONE PACKDaisy’s POV“I invited my friends for breakfast.” Landon wrapped his arms around me and a small smile spread across my lips. “I want to introduce you to them. You’ll get along with most of them.” “Most of them?” My eyebrows cocked. “Let’s just say that Penny and Dylan might be mischievous and cold for sometime. But trust me, they are really nice.” “Ok. I hope they are.”He led me to the breakfast table, filled with several dishes. Some maids were still scurrying around, adding meals to the table and getting everything in place. I thought it was an extravagant way to have breakfast but considering it was our first breakfast together, I knew he was trying to impress me. As soon as we sat down to eat, his friends walked in, each majestic and breathtaking. Lycans were beautiful, no doubt. Their features were delicate yet sharp, refined and attractive. It was hard to walk past a Lycan without turning twice to take in their beauty. As I watched them take their seat ar
Daisy’s POV“What?” My lips quivered as I stared at the seer. I didn’t want to believe that her revelation was true, that I was going to suffer another failed relationship. “That’s impossible!” Landon growled beside me, inching closer to the seer. “Re-do it again. I don’t believe that’s right.” I was a bit relieved that Landon also didn’t agree with the revelation. After all, he invited her to the palace. If there was anyone who had the rights to disagree with her, it was him. The seer cackled, her tongue running over her blackened teeth. Her eyes sparkled with mischief but I couldn’t tell if it was just the natural characteristic of witches to be crafty or she had something up her sleeves. “The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes.” She eyed me wearily. “Your mate should be more concerned than you, Prince. She is the key to everything.” I choked back a curse, my heart thumping hard in my chest. “Me?” I exhaled. “What could possibly go wrong with us? You made the previous prophecy a
LANDONMy father, the king...I quickly placed Daisy back on the pillow and slowly pulled away from her. I could see the question and worry in her eyes, but I didn’t have the time to appease her. Quickly, I ran to the wardrobe and grabbed clothes for myself, a royal robe.No matter what, one must not enter the crown area without having a robe. I turned to look at Daisy, who was holding a pillow to herself in a bid to cover up her nakedness. I tried to smile, but it didn’t come out quite right."Wait here," I said instead. With that, I stepped out of the room to a pensive-looking John. His head was down in obeisance, and I could tell that the matter was grave, for there was none of his calming aura at that moment."What happened to my father?” I asked at once.He shook his head. "I don’t have much information about it, Prince Landon. All I know is that the queen has sent for you, and she is in no good mood," he added.I gave a quick nod and moved quickly toward the elevator. John follo
DAISYLandon led me to his room, without saying a word to me, or letting go of my waist. I was grateful for that because it would simply make the princesses see the chemistry between us and annoy them even more."Come in," he said politely.I said nothing as I stepped in. Taking several steps away from him, in other to put some distance between us, I watched as he shut the door firmly behind him. I held my hands together, hoping to control the pain that I was feeling. "I have missed you," he said suddenly as he turned to look at me.I scoffed. "Save those words. You have shown me what I meant to you since the night of the ball."I blinked in shock as Landon suddenly pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his body. I could hear the pounding of my heart and I knew he could too. "Don’t try to intimidate me," I said, feeling heat all over my body. He smirked. "What are you afraid of, Daisy?"I looked away from his piercing eyes, unable to take any more of the heat that he exuded.
DAISY"I can’t keep staying here," I grumbled as I got out of bed, feeling completely drained. I knew I needed rest but I couldn’t continue to lie in bed all day. I was losing my mind with all the thoughts in my head and a distraction was needed. I had no idea what time it was, but I knew I had spent two days in bed after Landon’s last visit. The fact he had not come again to check up on me was so painful. Was I really going to succeed in breaking my own relationship with my own hands? Had I really succeeded in pushing him away? I shook my head as I walked barefoot to the bathroom. I can’t take the whole blame since he was the one who didn’t do anything to defend me from his mother’s continuous onslaught.Sighing I pulled my shirt off and tossed it to the nearest washing basket. I could imagine that I actually had some odour since I had not had my bath for two days, but at least, I was fine now. Stepping into the bath, I opened the tap, and allowed the water to wash me from my hair
DAISY"Ugh!"My fingers lightly kneaded the side of my head as I tried to stay awake. I felt as though someone was hitting my head with a hammer, and I just didn’t know how to get the pain off. Slowly, I turned over to my left in a bid to see what time it was. The giant clock on the wall claimed it was 6 am."Maybe, I’m going through this because I woke up too early?" I mumbled to myself as I tried to get to my feet.It was as though I was swimming in a pool, with no means to swim out. Biting down my lips in pain, I tried hard not to scream. I pushed my hands back a bit, and slowly pushed myself up."Oh, moon goddess!" I breathed out at the same time the door sprang open, and in came, Prince Landon holding a tray of freshly baked biscuit and warm scented tea.He beamed at me as though we had suddenly sorted out all the problems between us. "I’m so glad you’re awake, darling," he said heartily.Since when did he call me that and act this way? I couldn’t stand the way he was so frivolou
ALEXANDERThe whole atmosphere was so chill as death, and I didn’t need to be told twice what had caused it to be so. There was no point in dwelling in such matters, but I found that I couldn’t think straight with all that had happened.I turned towards the empty podium where the queen and king should be, but it was vacant. "Do you think someone really tried to kill Daisy, or she had orchestrated all these to gain sympathy from the Lycan Prince?" I asked Wyatt who stood behind me in silence."Alpha, I wouldn’t know for sure till I investigate the matter. But, whatever happened here doesn’t look like a ploy. She was really in pain," Wyatt said calmly.I frowned at that as my hands twisted over my pants. If that were true, then who could have done such a thing? It was definitely not me, because all I wanted was to get her out of here, and to my pack. I wanted her to knee before me in submission, and unable to say a word in her defence. My eyes scanned the room, and I realised that Mart
LANDONI hugged Daisy so hard, not wishing to let her go even for a minute. She meant a lot to me, more than I could put into words. How could someone so pure go through so much pain?"Landon, I can’t breathe," she whined.A smile touched my lips as I slowly released her. "You don’t want me to hug you, silly girl," I teased just as hard.I let my fingers slowly slide through her hair. She was the most amazing, and the sweetest soul ever. Nothing must go wrong with her. Her eyes were slowly dim, and I could tell that she was struggling to get herself and that broke me."Come closer," she said softly.I leaned closer to her and felt her hands weakly hold me tight. It felts so good to be able to have such a hold on me, and I just wanted to be with her even more than I ever had in my whole lifetime."Can you stop this awful display now?" Mother’s voice pierced through the moment.I gritted my teeth as I slowly pulled away, kissing Daisy on her forehead. I looked down on her face, and her
LANDON“Daisy," I said in a whisper. My legs shook as it moved forward. This couldn’t be happening. Lowering myself on the floor, I pulled back the robe even further, and noted how lifeless she was with blue veins moving around her skin.I swallowed hard as I caressed Daisy’s hollow cheeks. There was no way she would be dead right now. It must be a mistake and John didn’t know what he was saying. Yes, that should be it."Get up," I cried. “You need to open your eyes. You need to get up and come with me.”"Prince Landon.” John whispered, pain evident in his voice. I ignored him at once, placing both hands around Daisy’s cheeks as I willed her mentally to wake up. "This cannot be the end. You can’t leave me on the night I completely failed you. Come on, you need to wake up! I have searched for you all of my life, and it’s important to take care of you," I cried. Daisy wouldn’t still open her eyes, despite my pleadings. I felt like I was about to drown in a bottomless pit and there wou
LANDON"Landon, let’s talk to the princesses that I have invited," mother said easily as she touched me by the arm.I slowly retracted my hands from hers. This was not how I wished the night to go. Looking around frantically for Daisy, I noted that she was engaged in some hot words with one of the princess, who I couldn’t care less about her name. I knew she was about to cry, but she was trying to be strong. It was a trait that I admired, but I wish she would just drop it."Landon," mother whined once more.I turned my gaze to her, my eyes as cold as ice. "You shouldn’t have done this," I blurted out.She gave me a look. "What are you talking about dear?"I moved closer to her, not caring who heard what at the moment. "You broke my relationship with Daisy in the most disgusting way. Why? Tell me why you did it?"Mother flipped her hair over her shoulders as she rolled her eyes at me. "Princess Mona seems to be dying to have a word with you. Keep her company, Landon. You’re a prince, s
DAISYI swallowed the lump in my throat as I tried to put on a brave face. There was no way I would let them know the truth. I could feel the eyes of almost everyone in the close radius, waiting for me to speak, so they could pounce on me."What makes you think that I’m that woman?" I scoffed. The lady stepped closer to me. "Well, there are a lot of things that proves that you’re the rejected omega. You’re visibly shaking, and you’re almost in tears. If that is not enough, you’re a werewolf and so much smaller than the Lycans. You match the description the queen had said. I believe that you’re that omega. It was Daisy, right?" She asked the princess easily.I clamped my hands together at once as I gave a slightly breathy laugh. "What are you saying?" I mocked. The two women gave me a look. I rolled my eyes in a bid to act as though they were all blabbing at this point. "I’m not that woman, please. I really think that you’re trying to insult me.""But..."I held my hands up, stopping t
