The ride back to Landon’s pack was quiet but filled with emotions. He could feel her fear to start a new life with him. Despite her silence, he could feel how tensed she was because she was close to him.

But his inner wolf wanted to take control and stake his claim on her. He wondered if she could feel his desire for her in the car. He wondered if she knew how crazy she made him feel, how she could easily mess with his control.

But he knew she was hurting so he decided he would keep his hands off her. He would let her heart heal from her recent heartbreak. His forehead burst into a hot sweat as he repeated that rule to himself. He wasn’t going to claim Daisy. He wouldn’t, not yet.

She needed to be protected–even from her own soft heart.

“Where are we?” She breathed, looking out the car’s small window when the car came to a halt.

He looked down at her shining eyes. “My pack.” His smile was warm. “My home.” They were standing in front of the palace surrounded by beautiful buildings.

Daisy shook her head as she looked at the beautiful palace, three stories tall, surrounded by gently swaying trees and the glimmer of a blue water pool.

“It’s beautiful,” she exhaled, then could no longer keep herself from blurting out. “Do you think your pack will like me?”

“Of course, they will,” he noticed the way her shoulders relaxed. “You saved me and gave me a new purpose, they would love you just as much as they love me.”

Daisy had always felt that their differences would be a problem in their relationship. As a lycan royal, his life was completely different from hers. And as far as she could tell, he was one of the few princes to have an omega as a mate.

“Okay,” she whispered, her confident swaying.

He led her through the exotic green garden toward the palace, and as they walked past the main hallway, Daisy looked up in amazement. The foyer was painted with intertwined flowers and vines.

She had never seen anything as beautiful as the palace. The Lycans were rich, their blood stained with royalty but she didn’t believe it could be quite magnificent.

“This is our room,” Landon informed her as they stepped in. She walked past him to find a large bedroom with high ceilings, exquisitely decorated, with two lattice windows, one facing a garden and the other pool.

“You can have a shower in here.” He guided her to the bathroom. “They are fresh towels too and I’ll get someone to get you some new clothes.”

She frowned. “I packed my entire wardrobe before coming. Why do you want to get me new clothes?”

He leaned back on the wall, his eyes closed and inner wolf tortured. “Each time I come close to you, I can smell him all over you. It’s driving me crazy and making it harder for me to control myself.”

“Control yourself from doing what?”

“From going back there to rip his heart out for hurting you.” He breathed. “But I also need to control myself from claiming you. I want to mark you each time I’m a breath away from you. You’re like a drug to me and you don’t even know it.”

Her cheeks colored and she drew closer to him. “Can I tell you a secret?” She whispered and he pulled her into his arms. He buried his face in her hair, taking in her scent.

She smelled like raspberries and nectar from the morning flowers. But he could still smell Alexander all over her. “What do you wish to tell me?”

Her lips trembled. “My wolf thinks you’re hot.”

A laugh escaped his lips. “What?”

She nodded shyly and walked to the bathroom. “I think she wants to claim you even more than you want to claim me.”

“Have a shower and we’ll talk about what your wolf wants,” he watched as she slipped into the bathroom.

Few minutes later, when she opened the door, he was sitting on the bed with his MacBook on. “Are you finally done?” His eyes ran down her bare legs which were straight and beautiful.

She looked more relaxed and a little smile was etched across her lips. “Yes.”

“You can wear any of my shirts,” he offered. “I’ll take you shopping tomorrow.”

She didn’t respond but quickly put on one of his shirts. “I love your bathroom.” She said, flashing him a warm smile.

“I love the way you look in my shirt,” he drew closer to her. “You look so sexy and beautiful.”

She didn’t meet his eyes, afraid he would notice how she was trembling. His hands gripped her waist, as he playfully pulled her closer.

As his fingertips stroked her skin, she felt his nearness, felt his powerful body towering over hers.

“Now, you smell like I want you to,” He closed his eyes as he took a deep breath close to her neck. “You smell like me. Perfect.” He could feel her heart hammering in her chest and the goosebumps on her skin.

“Do you like that?”

He lifted her chin to meet his eyes. “I love that. Now, tell me you’re mine and mine alone.”

“I’m yours.” She said, pouting. He smothered a curse, and his hands tightened around her waist.

“I want to mark you right now,” he growled.

“I don’t think I’m ready–”

“I know,” he cut her off. Damn her for making him want her and not seeing it. The heat in his groin rose to his head like a swarming hive of bees.

As he stared down at her, he could only think about the wet heat of her mouth against his. He wanted to be naked with her in a tangle of sheets and instead, she treated him like an annoying older brother.

But that wasn’t the worst part. She was his mate. The thought tortured him. Some buried, mate instinct flared to life and pushed him to make his claim. By law, she already belonged to him.

His breathing quickened and so did hers. He leaned slowly, their lips inches away from each other, as if waiting for her reaction.

She challenged him to turn his anger to desire, to feel her full lips trembling under his with all sweetness and passion. The important promise he made to himself, and his plans to resist her all flew out the window.

He decided to claim his mate.

I gasped, closing my eyes as I felt the caress of his embrace like a thousand shards of light. He pulled me more tightly against him, and I felt his power, his strength. I titled my head back, deepening the kiss as my hands twined in his hair. My eyes squeezed shut as I felt the hot, plundering sweep of his tongue, felt the velocity of the world spinning around me. Without breaking our kiss, he lifted me into his arms and carried me to the bed. When he set me down at the edge of the bed, my eyes found his crotch. He was already hard, he wanted me and I didn’t want to deny him my body. He ripped his lips away from me and lowered them to my nipples, sucking my delicate skin through the shirt. He tugged the shirt and took it off me with one quick movement, leaving me in nothing but my panties. With a growl and a fierce kiss, he grip

BACK IN LIGHTCREST PACKThe palace of the lightcrest pack was swarming with guests and elders from different packs. The palace walls, usually green and dull, was fully covered in fresh paint. Servants and maids could be seen running around to get things in place for the ceremony—the crowning of a new Alpha. Marcus, the soon to be Alpha inspected the hallways every minute, his eyes pointing out everything that wasn’t perfect. After all, it was his big day. The day he would be made the Alpha of the pack. The ceremony was slated to start by noon and it was only quarter past ten but Marcus was shivering with nervousness in his room. It was not easy to lead a pack, of course, but it was far harder when the previous Alpha was still alive. “You know you don’t have to be scared of him.” His mate, Lilian told him as she wrapped her arms around him. He pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her lips. “I know.” He ran his fingers through his hair anxiously. “It’s just that this is the first t

“It’s done.” Alexander informed Martha through their mind link. “Marcus and Lilian are dead.” Alexander leaned close to Marcus body, which was shrinking with each passing minute. “Hmmmm. I’m sorry this had to happen to you. But I can’t let you take over my pack. I wish it was someone else, I truly wish it was.” A knock sounded on the door, jolting him from his thoughts and Alexander opened it to let Martha in. With two large duffel bags in her hands, she grinned widely when she saw Marcus and Lilian lying dead on the bed. She wrapped her arms around Alexander’s neck and gave him a long, wet kiss. “You did it! I’ve always known you were a man of your words.” His lips quirked. “We have to get rid of the bodies before anyone finds out. In less than an hour, the entire pack will be expecting them at the coronation hall.” “Okay. They are beginning to smell already.” Martha giggled and gave him one of the bags. Lilian meant nothing to her. She would kill her again and again if it was co

GOLDEN STONE PACKDaisy’s POV“I invited my friends for breakfast.” Landon wrapped his arms around me and a small smile spread across my lips. “I want to introduce you to them. You’ll get along with most of them.” “Most of them?” My eyebrows cocked. “Let’s just say that Penny and Dylan might be mischievous and cold for sometime. But trust me, they are really nice.” “Ok. I hope they are.”He led me to the breakfast table, filled with several dishes. Some maids were still scurrying around, adding meals to the table and getting everything in place. I thought it was an extravagant way to have breakfast but considering it was our first breakfast together, I knew he was trying to impress me. As soon as we sat down to eat, his friends walked in, each majestic and breathtaking. Lycans were beautiful, no doubt. Their features were delicate yet sharp, refined and attractive. It was hard to walk past a Lycan without turning twice to take in their beauty. As I watched them take their seat ar

Daisy’s POV“What?” My lips quivered as I stared at the seer. I didn’t want to believe that her revelation was true, that I was going to suffer another failed relationship. “That’s impossible!” Landon growled beside me, inching closer to the seer. “Re-do it again. I don’t believe that’s right.” I was a bit relieved that Landon also didn’t agree with the revelation. After all, he invited her to the palace. If there was anyone who had the rights to disagree with her, it was him. The seer cackled, her tongue running over her blackened teeth. Her eyes sparkled with mischief but I couldn’t tell if it was just the natural characteristic of witches to be crafty or she had something up her sleeves. “The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes.” She eyed me wearily. “Your mate should be more concerned than you, Prince. She is the key to everything.” I choked back a curse, my heart thumping hard in my chest. “Me?” I exhaled. “What could possibly go wrong with us? You made the previous prophecy a

Daisy’s POVLandon froze immediately the words left John’s lips. The color on his face drained gradually and his lips twisted into a vivid frown. “Where are they?” He asked, with a different cold voice. His eyes had darkened, veins appearing around them and I instantly realized he was livid. What could possibly make him so upset about his parent’s arrival? “A border guard called me immediately after their convoy passed the pack’s main entrance. I ran here as quickly as I could to tell you. They should be here any moment from now.” John appeared to be confident but I could also see he was struggling. “Get me the royal mantle.” Landon instructed him. “My mother would lose her mind if I welcome her without the royal robe.” John sprinted away to do his bidding leaving us alone for a brief moment. “What’s going on?” I asked, feeling lightheaded. Everything was hitting me at once and I couldn’t grasp anything at all. The seer, the revelation, his parents; I was completely confused. Lan

Daisy's POVA low chuckle left Landon's lips as he shook his head slowly. He turned to me, his gaze a mixture of sadness and pain. "Do you want to know why I didn't tell you about her, mother?" He asked, taking a step closer to her, his hands clenched beside him. "It's obvious." Queen Athena purred, shooting me a disgusted glare. "You're ashamed of her. I would be ashamed and embarrassed by her too. I can't believe the moon goddess would make you wait for years and give you this—this.." She scrunched up her face in disgust as she pointed at me. It was like she was avoiding staring at me completely like a look from me could curse her with leprosy. "This girl. It's unbelievable that you would bring her into this palace in the first place." "I've waited for hundreds of years to find my mate—" Landon began but his mother quickly chipped in. "That is not an excuse to bring in just anybody to this palace." "Can you hear yourself?" His voice thundered, echoing across the room fiercely. I

Daisy’s POVI rushed into my room, firmly closing the door to block out the argument happening in the meeting room. However, it was of no use. Landon and his parents' voices had grown louder, each fueled by anger and frustration.“I will not accept that thing as your mate!” I heard the queen’s shrill voice from the meeting room. “You must be mated to a royal princess!”“Screw your royalty! I won’t be with anyone else but Daisy!” I flinched slightly when I heard Landon’s voice. I knew he was angry, so angry that his wolf was threatening to break free.“What is wrong with me?” I slumped down to the cold, bare floor, my back pressing against the door. “Why am I never enough for the people I love?”In my grief, I considered if I had made the wrong choice by accepting Logan as my mate. I tried to envision a life where I made a different choice and stayed with Alexander. LANDONMy father, the king...I quickly placed Daisy back on the pillow and slowly pulled away from her. I could see the question and worry in her eyes, but I didn’t have the time to appease her. Quickly, I ran to the wardrobe and grabbed clothes for myself, a royal robe.No matter what, one must not enter the crown area without having a robe. I turned to look at Daisy, who was holding a pillow to herself in a bid to cover up her nakedness. I tried to smile, but it didn’t come out quite right."Wait here," I said instead. With that, I stepped out of the room to a pensive-looking John. His head was down in obeisance, and I could tell that the matter was grave, for there was none of his calming aura at that moment."What happened to my father?” I asked at once.He shook his head. "I don’t have much information about it, Prince Landon. All I know is that the queen has sent for you, and she is in no good mood," he added.I gave a quick nod and moved quickly toward the elevator. Taking several steps away from him, in other to put some distance between us, I watched as he shut the door firmly behind him. I held my hands together, hoping to control the pain that I was feeling. "I have missed you," he said suddenly as he turned to look at me.I scoffed. "Save those words. You have shown me what I meant to you since the night of the ball."I blinked in shock as Landon suddenly pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his body. I could hear the pounding of my heart and I knew he could too. "Don’t try to intimidate me," I said, feeling heat all over my body. He smirked. "What are you afraid of, Daisy?"I looked away from his piercing eyes, unable to take any more of the heat that he exuded.

DAISY"I can’t keep staying here," I grumbled as I got out of bed, feeling completely drained. I knew I needed rest but I couldn’t continue to lie in bed all day. I was losing my mind with all the thoughts in my head and a distraction was needed. I had no idea what time it was, but I knew I had spent two days in bed after Landon’s last visit. The fact he had not come again to check up on me was so painful. Was I really going to succeed in breaking my own relationship with my own hands? Had I really succeeded in pushing him away? I shook my head as I walked barefoot to the bathroom. I can’t take the whole blame since he was the one who didn’t do anything to defend me from his mother’s continuous onslaught.Sighing I pulled my shirt off and tossed it to the nearest washing basket. I could imagine that I actually had some odour since I had not had my bath for two days, but at least, I was fine now. Stepping into the bath, I opened the tap, and allowed the water to wash me from my hair

DAISY"Ugh!"My fingers lightly kneaded the side of my head as I tried to stay awake. I felt as though someone was hitting my head with a hammer, and I just didn’t know how to get the pain off. Slowly, I turned over to my left in a bid to see what time it was. The giant clock on the wall claimed it was 6 am."Maybe, I’m going through this because I woke up too early?" I mumbled to myself as I tried to get to my feet.It was as though I was swimming in a pool, with no means to swim out. Biting down my lips in pain, I tried hard not to scream. I pushed my hands back a bit, and slowly pushed myself up."Oh, moon goddess!" I breathed out at the same time the door sprang open, and in came, Prince Landon holding a tray of freshly baked biscuit and warm scented tea.He beamed at me as though we had suddenly sorted out all the problems between us. "I’m so glad you’re awake, darling," he said heartily.Since when did he call me that and act this way? I couldn’t stand the way he was so frivolou

ALEXANDERThe whole atmosphere was so chill as death, and I didn’t need to be told twice what had caused it to be so. There was no point in dwelling in such matters, but I found that I couldn’t think straight with all that had happened.I turned towards the empty podium where the queen and king should be, but it was vacant. "Do you think someone really tried to kill Daisy, or she had orchestrated all these to gain sympathy from the Lycan Prince?" I asked Wyatt who stood behind me in silence."Alpha, I wouldn’t know for sure till I investigate the matter. But, whatever happened here doesn’t look like a ploy. She was really in pain," Wyatt said calmly.I frowned at that as my hands twisted over my pants. If that were true, then who could have done such a thing? It was definitely not me, because all I wanted was to get her out of here, and to my pack. I wanted her to knee before me in submission, and unable to say a word in her defence. My eyes scanned the room, and I realised that Mart

"You don’t want me to hug you, silly girl," I teased just as hard.I let my fingers slowly slide through her hair. She was the most amazing, and the sweetest soul ever. Nothing must go wrong with her. LANDON“Daisy," I said in a whisper. My legs shook as it moved forward. This couldn’t be happening. Lowering myself on the floor, I pulled back the robe even further, and noted how lifeless she was with blue veins moving around her skin.I swallowed hard as I caressed Daisy’s hollow cheeks. There was no way she would be dead right now. It must be a mistake and John didn’t know what he was saying. Yes, that should be it."Get up," I cried. “You need to open your eyes. You need to get up and come with me.”"Prince Landon.” John whispered, pain evident in his voice. I ignored him at once, placing both hands around Daisy’s cheeks as I willed her mentally to wake up. "This cannot be the end. You can’t leave me on the night I completely failed you. Come on, you need to wake up!
