Prologue

PROLOGUE 

The fog in the night wasn't the only thing that chased me in the deepest lly dense forest of an enemy land. When I sniffed the air, I smelled rouges behind me. They weren't fully aware of my existence but I was. No visibility, no help, depending on my enhanced smell and hearing sensation. Crushing the dried leaves under the laws, I watched them from a distance when they appeared in my way. A beautiful doe sleeping under the hollow bark of a tree, so sounded that she couldn't feel the danger around her. Hunger and bloodlust had driven me crazy and I didn't mind having a piece of meat but it wasn't something that I would share, not with these rouges.

My eyes were locked, so was theirs. They longed to attack the doe. I felt the intensity and the rush of the adrenaline in my vein when my hunger made me jump in the action. I swung and landed like a sly fox on the ground, without making noise, I chased them. When the proximity closed, they saw me running behind them and growled at me.

I was faster than them and within a few seconds, I surpassed them and stood in front of the bark, growling loudly at them. They growled at me too. Saliva kept dropping from their rotten teeth as they roared. I wish I could break a sweat but these fools will never make me sweat…

Four of them and I were alone, on my pass when I wanted to attack them. 

They were in a group when they attacked me, I dodged and kicked in the guts of one wolf. Making him land on an extension of a broken branch, killing him on the spot with his wounds harshly opened. 

This made other wolves flinch but soon they recovered and again, they attacked me. Our fight woke the doe up and frightened, she left the hollow bark to run inside the forest, probably to hide or escape from the hungry wolves…

When I spotted that my food was running away, it made me mad and I attacked the two of the wolves simultaneously. I bit off the flesh and ripped them apart, killing another wolf down. The injured one escaped but I followed his scent to the deep part of the forest. My nostrils were hit by many fragrances lurking in the air. It was difficult to spot the rogues and my hunger didn't let me give up.

I have to find them, no matter what. As I ran through the forest, I got the smell of blood. It was the doe's blood. 

This made me enraged and I followed the track of the scent and jumped to land on a big rock, spotted the rogue feasting on the doe. That was my target… and he was on who devoured it.

His eyes met with mine and I felt like a loser. This whole scenario seems like a slap of the past. I have been a loser my entire life. My mate rejected me and chose an alpha instead. I watched them having sex together. I watched the alpha caring for his own mate. I watched my mate die. And that Alpha whom I used to serve didn't do anything for her. Why would he? He already got his mate to warm his bed. 

And bold of him to think I would serve him, I will destroy him…

That wolf in front of me, he stole my meal and now I will steal his breath. My talons spiked out and I lunged at him. He threw away the bone and tried to run but I was much faster than him, so I grabbed his leg from my teeth and dragged him back. 

He whined and i bit off his leg, the blood sputtered on the dirt as i cut off his tail. He tried to attack me but his strength was poor from starvation, where it was my advantage, i pushed him down the valley and let him die in the pits.

When i was back to get my hands on the leftovers, i no longer left the appetite. It was still a loss and i was better hungry than feeding on the leftovers. 

As i moved away, i realised that i need to get stronger in order to achieve my goal. I can't stay hungry as my stomach had started eating itself. I went back to the leftovers and had to fill whatever was left.

Once i devoured the single last piece of meat from the bones, i shifted into my human form and left the place before dawn…

Trembled feets and shooling hands, i felt like throwing up. Something wasn't right when i vomit the content i had.

I needed water as the throat was dry as fuck. My body started to felt numb and i fell downward until i saw someone approaching me. before i could see them, the darkness already covered my eyes. I don't remember when i woke up but i found myself in a trunk of a vehicle with my hands and feet tied. It was dark but i could see a bit. The car was shooking too much and it was uncomfortable to drop someone of my size in a trunk.

Who did this to me? I will not spare you once i am done with the ropes.

"Take it easy, fell… you are not alone…" a voice was heard behind me…

My eyes popped out and i tried to look for the direction.

"Don't move too much, you will get hurt. Better is to lay down on your stomach and don't think about…" said the man again.

"Where are they taking me?" I gritted.

"We don't know exactly but they might sold us to a big bad alpha as warriors. That's what i know as far… rest will be announced soon." The man whispered…

I stayed silent afterwards, there were many thoughts running in my mind. I needwd to clear everything before incould even think of working under someone. I had become a rogue because I had enough in my previous pack. But if that is the destiny waiting for me, I will give them my best…
