The Trial of the werewolf
The faint sun rays fell inside the trunk and I could assume that it was daytime and I was still inside the trunk of the vehicle. I haven't eaten anything but it was okay. I had adjusted to being starved for a few days.
However, it was difficult to stay in position for long hours. Being tied around, it was difficult to shift, later I realised lately that it wasn't the small space which didn't let me shift, it was Wolf's Bane in my blood which made me weaker.
My abductors must have ingested the Wolf's Bane when I passed out. Damn!! This doesn't feel right. Where are they taking me to? Something was hideous about it. A place so far where i was wondering, no my assumption, i guessed that we were traveling to the west. my sense of smell was weakened too. As long as this Wolf's Bane will stay in my blood, I won't be able to free myself using my enhanced skills and sense.
Not so far, the vehicle stopped and I heard commotion outside. There were several in numbers and I heard them unloading the vehicles, which meant there were many vehicles apart from this one. How many werewolves they had captured? What was the catch behind all this?
Not too soon, the trunk was opened and the werewolves were dragged out, me too. I glanced at them and my eyes popped out to see the build they had. It looked like they were built superior to all. And if they are the guards, what will the real mastermind of this plan look like?
The guards smacked me in the guts and I fell on the ground with a parted corner of the lips, "Stared already? Show some respect to your senior, you bloody dog."
"Worthless mutts… you should feel, all of you, that your worthless life has given you a chance to live with a purpose. We gathered the rouges we could find and we will make the best out of you." A dangerous voice behind us yelled loudly and I gave a look from the corner of my eyes.
The guard smacked his gun in my guts again and I fell back. Tears rolled out as the pain lasted for a longer time.
"How dare you look at Sergeant, mutt?" The guard was furious and if it wasn't that Wolf's Bane in my bloodstream, I would have ripped him apart.
"It's alright, Dave… don't mock him way too much. We need them for our mission." Said the Sergeant.
The guard bowed at him and stood aside while the Sergeant approached me. I was trying to look up at him when someone from behind pushed my head into his feet. My ego was hurt, they forcefully made me bow at him. I gritted my teeth and pushed the guard back. I was exhausted because of the Wolf's Bane but I was able to grab him from my hands behind, to the nape of his neck and I flipped him forward, making him fall on the ground in front of him.
The other rouges gasped and murmured when I got up on my feet and glared at the man. He looked blankly at me, no reaction in his eyes or face. But suddenly, he smirked at me and nodded his head.
"It took a lot of strength to fight like that when you have been poisoned." Said the Sergeant.
"No poison could break me, because no poison is more lethal than me." I gritted my teeth and inhaled the air as much as I could.
"Looks like our search has ended here. Lock him up!!! I want him to be taken into a special cell." The Sergeant ordered the guards and I did not fight back.
Along with me, they dragged other rouges behind. They blindfolded us and locked us in the cells. However, I was taken back and they dragged me somewhere else. There were stairs and open space as my nostrils were filled with fresh air but we were still inside the dungeons. I recalled the order from the Sergeant that it would be a special cell to lock me up. Guess, that boy is already scared of me.
It was just a trailer, I am the whole package they were not aware of. The guards kicked me in and took off my blindfold. My hands were untied but I was still not able to recover. My body has ingested a lot of Wolf's Bane and it will be more stressful if I keep trying hard to push myself beyond the limits. It was dusk and I saw the daylight fading into the dark, and the cell was darker than my soul.
I leaned back and pressed my back into the cold wall and felt drowsy. It was an after effect of the Wolf's Bane. Suddenly, I had an urge to throw up and only the gastric acid was vomited. Once I was done throwing up the contents of my stomach, I laid back on the floor and didn't remember when my heavy eyelids were shut.
The next morning, I woke up before dawn and I was restless, actually it was my wolf who was restless. Since the day I had left the pack, my wolf never talked to me. I never bothered why he didn't ever make contact because my wounds were gashy and I needed time to heal.
When I was lost in my thoughts, the bar gates opened and three guards entered the cell.
"Get up mutt… they are calling you." One of them spoke and informed me.
Not sure why they were calling me, and who they were, but I got up and followed them out to the cell. They tied my hands and blindfolded me, dragged me out from the dungeons. I could hear roaring and applause from a distance and it must be something I must be worried about.
The guards pushed me forward and locked me among other wolves in a compact place. They untied my hands and removed my blindfolds. My gaze observed everything in my surroundings and I noticed there were more than hundred rouge wolves inside the place.
The guards turned to us and pushed us to sit on the floor. I could have snapped his neck but I stayed calm and waited for an opportunity to show them my real power.
"Now that you all are brought here for a special purpose, you all must pass this test to qualify and become one of our special mission members. Just remember, your life is about change." The guard informed us and left.
There were murmurs lingered in the entire place and everyone was left shocked. We heard three loud bangs and the door in front of us opened. I was sceptical and stayed inside while the other rogues were already running outside. I could hear applause and wondered what could be here. Somehow, it felt familiar and I decided to see what was outside. The moment I stepped outside, I recalled the same place. The arena!!!
When I stepped out, there was an announcement made by the speaker.
"Let the trial of werewolves begin…"
The sun fell on its highest peak, his rays blinded my eyes temporarily and one i recovered from the blindness of the eye, I spotted thousands of werewolves sitting on the bench and waiting for the match to begin. However, I saw something which startled me and it was no ordinary werewolf but the Alpha of the pack.Distinguishing an Alpha among the others wasn't a problem but his eyes baffled me. All the time, his gaze was on me and I could feel the burning stare he was giving to me. Beside him, it was the sergeant from yesterday's meeting. There was an amusement decorated on his face. Whatever was running in their mind, it seemed nothing good to me.Suddenly, the alpha arose from the throne and grabbed a microphone to declare an announcement. "My dear friends and pack members, here I present to you the most troublesome rouges of the continent. It took months to gather them here for this occasion. I know that all of you are thrilled and eager to find out the purpose you have been brough
The fire, the rogue and the mate. It was something I could not avoid since I had lost her. Pauline. No matter how much I had hated her for choosing the Alpha over me but I could not stop myself loving her. Even in the last moment, she asked for forgiveness and wanted my happiness. Why did the moon goddess have to be cruel? She took my mate. She died saving the Luna. Although, she died and considered the death as the result of her ill doings but she was still my mate. I miss her everyday and it was driving me crazy. I left the pack because I couldn't tolerate seeing other couples growing in front of me. My luck for mate bond was sick since the beginning. The faint noises lingered around my ears and I could interpret the rush near my surroundings. My body was weak and I could feel the heaviness in my legs. My eyes were shut but most of the commotion coming from the outside told me that I was in a place where a lot of gathering was happening. Could it be a hospital or school or anything
As the starry night it was, there was darkness around the corner of the full blank sky, a vignette appeared as the dusk took over. The crystal clear moon shone over the massive territory of the crystal moon pack. The patrolling guards wandered on the border and tried to keep the security tight, as much as possible. The news had spread like a fire that the Luna Aria was in labour and soon, Alpha Damien Brook will be a father. As the lively Alpha he was known to be, but his terrible and dangerous side had a reputation of the ruthless Alpha when it comes to his pack. Now that he was going to be a father, he was more dangerous than ever. The brook ancestry had a special bloodline, once in a one hundred and twenty five years, a werewolf born in the brook family was claimed to be special, powerful among other ordinary werewolves in the world. The werewolf was blessed but the moon goddess itself and they were sent on earth to maintain the peace and harmony.Alpha Damien was aware that it mus
Orfilia's povSlumbered at my bed like a snorlax, I didn't wake up even after snoozing the annoying alarm clock buzzing overhead. Last night was amazing as it was the second last day before my birthday. I was about to turn eighteen tomorrow. As it appeared exciting for me, the anxiety of getting a mate made me blush. The daughter of Beta of crystal moon pack. That was my identity but now that I will turn eighteen tomorrow, I will make my own identity in this pack. Precisely, I opened my eyes when the loud thuds were heard in the room. My focus went to the wall clock and it made me widen my eyes that I overslept. Not actually, I overslept as I was getting late but I promised myself to run into the woods to calm the anxiety running through my veins. I could still manage to run if I got out of bed.Throwing away the duvet, I jumped into my track suit, made my bed and picked up all the scattered stuff in my room. Then I headed for a run. A wild run into the forest had always calmed me.
Unknown's povCrispy red painted sky when nature's fireball rose with dawn, on the horizon it shone with a faint hue of burnt orange and scattered red. The puffy clouds danced over the gigantic but calmed ocean, spiralled under the web of the dense forest. I stood near the borders of the Moon blessed territory, that's called The Crystal Moon Pack.Never in my wasted life have I felt a bit of fear, not even from the Alpha of my former pack. It was just a respect I gave him as a friend. However, today, I stood in foreign land. Something had stirred in my mind. The feeling was alienated as I haven't felt it for a long time. Until I realised it was my wolf, it came back on the surface. However, he wasn't really intended to initiate a conversation. Douche… Hefty paws and trickling sweat beads rolled down on my face as I watched the territory borders closely, my enhanced sight provided me a view of patrolling guards all over the place and their intricate guarding pattern. The security outs
Alpha Damien's povI could hear the noise of the music banging out loud from the farmhouse but inside my office, it was silent and my silence was eating me up. The party hadn't started and a few guests showed up. My thoughts about this birthday were delusional. If it would be in my hand, I wouldn't have let my daughter turn eighteen. Anytime, she will have her first shift and my biggest secret would be revealed. Before I got up from my chair, I heard a significant knock on the door and with an authoritative tone, I let the beta of my pack inside."Damien… the party will start anytime." He announced as he proceeded to walk towards me."I know there will be Alphas from different packs along with their children. I am afraid that my secret will be exposed. I cannot afford to make this mistake. We need to do something… I will cancel this party…" I started with an aggressive tone."No… you will not… this will only increase others' suspicion." Said Jaden."Than what am I supposed to do?" I w
LanceAs the slow breezes blew, embracing my fur, a shiver went down my spine when a painful howl was heard from a distance. It was different and somehow, I felt the pain of a heartbreak. Someone's love had died that night.Confused, as I stood at the boundaries of the crystal moon pack, my wolf was on the surface again but he was distant from me. There was no point left to start a conversation but there was no harm in trying, was it? When I asked the silence for the answer, I got silence in return. He was disappointed in me and I understood him. I closed my eyes and waited for the call. "We have dug the tunnel… Now it's your turn to get inside and bring that wolf…" said one of the Alpha's puppets.Of course, being the banned Alpha, he had his traits which followed his legacies. Considered his doubts in me, so he sent a team of his special warriors along. They had kept their eyes on me and even if I wanted to escape, I wouldn't land anywhere safe or consider a place that would be cal
Orfilia's povSomething doesn't fit here, something wasn't right at all. The anxious phenomenon decorated on my mother's face was a clear indicator of a messed up situation. Doesn't feel good and went for the run instead. Although it was evening now and I had nothing left to do, maybe a warm up and a run into the woods would calm my own anxiety and let me breathe when I felt suffocated inside my own house. Definitely, it wasn't just the first time I felt weird about something different but why does it always felt like I had to do a lot rather than just keep looking forward in the direction. My pathways were overshadowed but finding the light would be the answer. Somehow, I felt like being called by a voice but I halted as the hair on my nape stood erect and my wolf was trying to inform me about the danger. Danger in the territory? My steps stopped and halted in a place as I turned the heels and moved back to the civilized society. Dropping everything off, I ran to see Ivory because
I wake up on the bed, drenched in all sweat, in the middle of the night and startled to see unknown surroundings. I gasp in fear and panic rose to my throat. I get up from the bed and rushes to the door to open it and escape from that place immediately. As I run barefoot through the corridors, but only to find out that I was in the infirmary, as I recall the place. I feel air passing into my lungs as I breathe in relief, but it confuses me to the core reasoning why I was in infirmary.Suddenly, I hear random and loud footsteps approaching me and I become alert and turn to look toward the footsteps. I notice a few of the healers and Daphne approaching me. My vision blurs and I feel my throat getting dry with every breath I take. My chest burns and I cough frequently. Something is not right? Why the hell I get in here? As I remember last night, I was partying with Lucian and others. The healer approaches me and helps me to breathe properly, “your majesty! Please come inside. You are wea
Orfilia's pov Once the celebration was over, I went straight to my room and called Lance because We both need to talk about this major decision I was about to take. He observed the anxiety and palpitations so he didn't let it get over and followed me to the room. When we reached, he put my hands in his and pulled me closer. Before I knew, he already had his lips on mine and we both moved in synchronisation. I didn't wanted to interrupt either so I moved with the flow and we both land on the bed, undressed each other and made love to each other. It was the best sex and he made me realise that what a worthy mate he was. I wished I could stay like that but I was lacking time since the noon was over and soon the sun will hide under the sky. "So, what are you thinking now?" Lance asked me. "I am thinking about you, us." I stated. "No! I mean, for future." He added. "Yeah! That's why I called you. I know I might sound childish but I don't want to stay here." I looked with a puppy face
Orfilia's pov The moment I had put the crown on Ivory's head, The crowd in the stadium went berserk. They applauded loudly and nothing seemed better than that, but, When my eyes met with Alpha Damien's, he was sad and upset about my decision. I would take long to make him understand that i never wanted to be the Alpha of this pack. Maybe, if things from the starting were different, I could be the Alpha but my spirit seek something meaningful and adventure. Lady Nymeria would be waiting for me and I had to leave this pack today. "But why? If I wanted to make her an Alpha, I would have asked her." Damien slammed his palms on the glass table, cracking it from the middle. We were in his study and the atmosphere was high and dramatic. "Why not? She is your daughter too and you said you wanted to see your daughter leading this pack, so what makes a difference if It's her, not me!" I stated while looking at him. "She is not you!!" He gritted his teeth. "Still makes no sense to me. If
Orfilia's pov After getting an approval from Alpha Damien, I was sure that I would bring the worthy candidate to be an Alpha of the pack. However, the time limit was short but atleast, I knew what I had to do. When I left the room, I bumped into Ivory and behind her were her daughters in the baby cart. She smiled widely at me. "Orfilia! You seem to be in a hurry. I know you have a coronation today but can you spare a moment for me." She made a request. "Of course, is everything alright?" I got worried when she called me to stay for a while. Even when I had limited time to find a worthy candidate, I couldn't deny her request. She escorted me out from the pack house while her daughters were taken to Alpha Damien's room. I wondered if Ivory was fine because I could read from her face that she wasn't feeling good. Her face was glowing under the warmth of the sun. "You haven't answered me." I asked her. "Yeah! I was occupied with thoughts. I have been awake the entire night. No matt
The night passed with tension lingering within the pack which was under the fog and the mist while they were playing like small children. The moon was bright and confident, however, the appearances might be deceiving. Even if the security had been increased around the boundaries and inside the pack, I was still anxious and palpating under the edge of a knife. I couldn’t sleep with peace as it kept me agitated all night long. The thoughts of becoming the Alpha of this pack was shaking me up. I did agree to Alpha Damien's demand only because I cannot make him feel depressed due to his conditions but this 'Becoming an Alpha' thought was keeping me at bay. I was alone in my room when I heard a knock and saw Lance entering. A smile flashed on his face and I gave him a slight smile too. "What's wrong? You seem worried." He spotted. "I am in a dilemma." I started with a low tone. "What dilemma? Is everything alright? I know that Alpha Damien had talked to you about something serious and e
With the morning dew glory at dawn and wet paws ahead of time, We saw the restricted boundaries of the Crystal moon pack in front of us. I breathed silently and felt secure to see my home, again but this feeling that I couldn't shrug off was eating me up. Since I had heard the news of Alpha Damien's fight for his life, I began believing in keeping the relationships at priority over anything else. I was his biological daughter but I never looked upon him as a father, although he was a father figure to me but he was not my dad. The man beside me raised me was the one I would call my dad. We shifted back into our human form and proceeded to enter the pack's territory. The guards bowed to us and Beta Male interacted with them to gather some information. He informed us that Alpha Damien's health had deteriorated since they had left looking for me. It broke my heart a little but Ivory was shattered. She was going to lose her last family member. "We shouldn't wait anymore." I nodded my
Orfilia's pov The cold air swept over my face but the hot sweat beads on my forehead dripped down to my cheekbones. Despite the lower temperature, the cottage was burning in tension. The surface broke with a loud noise which lingered inside my head. I was standing rooted to the place because the shock I just received was too much to bear. I tried hard not to show how scared i was but those enemies had made up their mind and attacked us. I tripped and fell down but got to save my two wolves protecting me behind my back. "Lance, dad? How did you get here?" I was too stunned to speak. "Leave that for later. We need to save Ivory. Alone, she cannot handle that witch's power and I am afraid she will die. "Let's go and save her.." Rella was excited as hell. They offered me some weapons to kill the creatures creeping form the darkness and we begin fighting them, making our way to Ivory and save her before that Witch would hurt her Rashak with his weapon took down one of them but it wa
Orfilia's povAs the dawn appeared out of the horizon, I watched the first ray of sun falling on the white snow and reflecting the sparkles like a fresh cut diamond. The moment was breathtaking and it made me forget the pain coursing through my body. The wounds haven't healed and the bruises are sore. As i tried to get up along with the surroundings, i realised that i am lying on a cot which is placed outside from a temple. Although, the ceiling was covering me from the morning dew but the chills did got me shudder my spine in shiver. As I tried to get up, I convulsed and threw up at another moment. I was exhausted and helplessly laid down back on the cot. The vision was getting blurred and the sense faded but I heard the faint footsteps approaching me.I wanted to get up and fight if someone was trying to take advantage of me. These past couple of days, bizarre things are happening with me. I can’t even relate if they're real or a mere hallucination, or I was just having an inceptio
Orfilia’s povThe chilling breezes are blowing enormously, and the howling silence of the dead telling their story of the previous battles. The ears are full of silent screams of the people who left behind after the wars. The dense fog is covering the battlefield and the tiny droplets are freezing on the eyelashes. I am feeling anxious and helpless, even when the whole thing is standing with me. It begins the inevitable and there is no turning back to it.The collapsing of the icebergs in the blue ocean reminded me of the collapse world of ours, fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Time had the power to manipulate everything but we, the pawns of destiny, had no control over this time, though we could fight our way to lead a battle or a life, it won’t be enough to control the time in hands. It slips from my hands like dried sand.At the top of the world, everything seemed so tiny and minute, but the same things appeared huge and bulky when we were on the ground, below zero… sho
