JULIE
Well my new professor has a good voice, no doubt about it. His deep voice is like a thick honey to comfort anyone when it descends from their throat, and it is even better to listen to him while looking at the change outside the window.
The weather is very nice. The trees standing outside are shedding their leaves at a slow speed, colliding with the gusts of wind. The sun is also hiding behind the clouds. Winter is on the doorstep, it is clearly visible.
And I love every season.
Keeping my face on the palm, I cannot get tired of looking at the open sky.
“Ms. Dawson!”
I want to fly in such a big sky. I wish I had wings, I could fly through this window.
“Ms. Dawson!”
And I also like this sound coming from behind. I would like to record it and keep it with me.
“Ms. Julie Dawson!!”
I hurriedly got up, my head snapped with the speed of light as my widened eyes took a look at the person who just yelled at me. A hiss escaped my lips after I heard a cracking sound and no doubt it came from my neck.
I gulp slightly, looking at my professor who is glaring down at me. I zoned out, wrong move, Julie!
“What’s Capital Reserve and Reserve Capital?”
It sounds familiar, isn’t it?
“Where are your notes?” He asks calmly but dangerously. I look down at my desk, finding my notebook and pen. And to my no surprise, the pages are blank. I gulp slightly before I look up and give him an awkward smile to which he returns with a bitter scowl.
Okay, I won’t smile!
“Why didn’t you write anything down?” He cocks his brow and I fiddle with my fingers. He knows I zoned out then why is he asking me? And I cannot even answer him that I zoned out because they will call it an ‘inappropriate’ way of speaking.
“Ms. Dawson, are you there or flew out through the window?” The class laughed.
Oh no, was I too loud?
“When I ask something, I demand an answer, Ms. Dawson!” I jump at the roughness of his voice and quickly nod my head.
”Words!”
“Y-Yes, sir.”
“I’m warning you, Ms. Dawson again. I shouldn’t find you daydreaming in the middle of my class next time or I’ll throw you out, got it?”
“Yes, sir.” I almost whispered, deeply hurt by his treatment. He should not yell at his students. Not everybody has thick skin.
“Now sit down and pay attention.” He moves to leave while I sit down. “And we’re doing accounting for partnership, not companies. You didn’t even know the topic, congratulations.” And here the class gets a reason to laugh at me again.
Yes, congratulations, Julie! And I hate you, Mr. Taylor, for being just like Mrs. Lizard… Lavigne, whatever!

“Isn’t it too much?” I ask, looking at Blue and then at the tray in her hands. Two burgers seems more than enough, with fingers and a cherry pie. I can also dream of eliminating them in one go, but my appetite decreases as soon as they come in front of my eyes.
“Oh really?” She giggles. “Let’s not make a fuss about it, Jules!” She held my hand and pulled me with her. I got my tongue tied, not wishing to make a fuss, just like she did not make a fuss about what happened in the class. I cannot insult myself by remembering how he scolded me on his first day.
Both of us find a table which is occupied by Jeremy. He put a handkerchief on one of the chairs beside him. While the other has…
I go closer and find an empty juice packet on the chair.
“Oh, you got it? You took so long. Did you go to get food or did you go to make it?” He laughs while we take a seat on either side of him. He removes his kerchief from a chair and gestures to me to sit there, while Blue sits on the other, ignoring the juice packet.
Let us watch what is next!
“Ahh!” Blue gets up with the speed of light and looks down at the chair, only to find her brother’s creativity.
“You dumbass!” She glares down at him. “Why did you do that?” Her loud voice is gaining everybody’s attention around us. They are giggling, no doubt. Once again we are entertaining others. Congratulations!
“You were taking too long. I thought, what if someone else takes this chair, so I put a reserve tag on them. How was my idea?” He is grinning and wiggling his eyebrows. He is trying to justify himself while we all know it is one of his tricks to annoy his sister.
“Like a piggy’s potty!”
“Ew!” The students around us scowl.
“What? Thank goodness I didn’t compare my brother's idea with your shit!” She cocks her brow at some of the students. Some of them laugh and some of them make faces. Those ‘making faces students’ are none other than Nicole and her friends aka Blue’s enemies.
Blue considers half of the college her enemy, and she does not regret it, because those half of the people are completely fake.
“Okay, Blue!” I hurriedly grab Jeremy’s kerchief and wipe some of the orange juice droplets off her chair before grabbing the packet and putting it on the table. “Now take a seat!” I tell her, putting the piece of cloth back in Jeremy’s lap.
“Thank you!” I grin at Jeremy while he is dumbfounded. I do not mind.
“Thanks to you, Jules. I don’t understand why my brother is hell bent on annoying the shit out of me.” Blue mutters, starting to munch on her food.
“That’s too much, fatty. Why didn’t you stop her, Jules?” Jeremy blurts out all of a sudden. I part my lips to speak but Blue beats me to it, making me realize I am more than late.
“What did you just call me?” She narrows her eyes before glaring at her brother. “You piece of shit! How dare you call me fatty?”
“Hey hey! Calm down, will you? And I didn’t lie! You can ask Jules if you want. What do you think, Jules?” He looks at me and grins, dragging me somehow in this matter.
“Jules, tell him he’s wrong!” Blue frowns, looking at me. But I do not want to lie. Blue indeed consumes more than required amount of oil and fats so Jeremy is not wrong when he says his sister is fatty. But to be honest, whatever her body type is, she is beautiful and really very charming. But she never believes other words when she is named as Fatty. And I do not want to hurt her, so I can lie, right?
“He’s wrong, Blue. You’re my Lana Del Rey.” And I receive a smooch on my cheek from Blue.
“Thank you, sweetheart.” She beams and Jeremy chuckles. From the corner of my eye, I see he is smirking down at me.
Oh, he understood? Not bad.
“Saw? This is a sister-bond!”
“Yeah yeah yeah…” He rolls his eyes.
After that we eat food peacefully without fighting. Being born into a wealthy household and raised by a mother, Blue and Jeremy were taught the etiquette of eating without talking. One advantage of this is that both of them will not fight like children while eating.
Surprisingly, Bradley siblings can calm down for a moment. It is as if the ancient itching inside them has taken a break. We can celebrate it, if they want.
I giggle at the thought, putting the fork down on the plate.
“What happened?” Blue asks. I open my mouth for throwing an excuse when Jeremy’s hand holds mine.
My eyes widen when he squeezes my hand under the table and then pulls it out to put it on the table.
“W-what are you—”
“Shh, Dick is here!” And this makes us choke on whatever is present in our mouths. We — Blue and me.
“What the fuck, Jer! Don’t forget your manners!” Blue scolds him and he laughs. He then nudges in Blue’s left, making us look in that direction and finding Dante there.
A sigh of tiresome escapes my lips when I look at the guy entering the cafeteria with his gang. His hands are tugged into the pocket of his black jeans. His hair is ruffled like always, giving him a young look. He is already young, by the way, is he not?
His appearance gains most of the girls’ attention here as they watch him heading to a girl who is widely known as his girlfriend — Iliana Fernandes.
He goes to her and takes a seat beside her. He leans in to kiss her lips and pulls back with a small grin on his lips. His girl then whispers something into his ear, upon listening to which he looks in my direction.
His blue eyes dart on me emotionlessly while I forget to avert mine until I feel someone grabbing my face and then planting a kiss on my left cheek. This gains my attention and I look at the person who did this.
“What was that!” I ask him and my voice seems to press itself down.
“Don’t worry, Jules,” he says and then winks playfully. “You’re doing great. Keep blushing like that?” What! Am I blushing? “Let him feel the same what he makes you feel, shouldn’t he? He deserves it!”
“Yes, he deserves it. Scumbag!” Blue mutters as well.
“Just look at him. He looks pissed off!” Jeremy laughs and dominated by the curiosity jumping inside me, I steal a glance at Dante who is glaring at us.
I sigh, finally not minding Jeremy’s deed.
Being stupid friends of mine, I know they do not like the people who has hurt me once. Dante Rocco is one of them.
We met each other six months ago. He proposed to me and I accepted, being blinded by his attractive appearance. He has dark hair and blue eyes, just like me. He is one of the members in the campus football team, the practice gave him a tempting physique as well. No doubt, girls were jealous of me because of him being my boyfriend.
The relationship between both of us went well for a month and suddenly he started making strange demands from me. One of the demands was nude pics, that was awkward by my side.
I never gave him nudes, by the way, but my stepping down from his shitty demands created a huge hole in the thin sheet of our relationship and finally, break-up.
I cried remembering him every night, although our relationship was only a month old, I was attached to him like a moth. Because of him, I used to soak my pillow with tears throughout the night, and wake up with swollen eyes but I had no idea that Dante would be so careless about me.
Never mind, as I made myself understand.
My father knew about this all, and he decided upon doing something for him but I stopped him. My dad behaves like a gangsta when it comes to punishing someone who has hurt me.
And now, we are better — away from each other. Now I realize that Dante could turn out to be toxic for me. It was good that we had broken up.
“It’s time for my next class, I should leave, okay?” I stand up, taking my tray and the bag on my right shoulder.
“Wait, I’m coming with you,” Blue interrupts, collecting herself up.
My eyes aimlessly look around in order to ignore Dante because I know he is watching me and it is kind of creepy, you know!
And then my eyes fell on him. Mr. Taylor — my brand new Accountancy Professor. He is glaring down at me, standing next to the counter. His body is leaning against it, his hands are stuffed into the pockets of his trousers. His dark eyes are emotionless but it makes me feel something so intense that I just shiver on my spot.
Why is he staring at me? Did I make a mistake by having lunch?
The thoughts which begin to cook in my mind, get reined, the moment I see my professor’s dark eyes shining like pure gold.
What the—
“Come on, Jules!” Blue pulls my sleeve and I follow her silently, still confused by what I saw in my professor’s eyes. How did he change the color?
It was so fucking… amazing!!
JULIE"Blue!" My palms turned into fists as I leaned closer and whispered into her ear. She is sitting right before me. "Yeah?" She whispers back. Her head comes closer to me as she leans back, giving more attention to my rant than Mr. Fransisco's lecture. "You know I saw Mr. Taylor in the cafe," I say and she hums, asking me to continue. "His eyes… god, his eyes glowed!""Did they?" She whispers back and I notice her eyebrows pulling together as she tries to focus on what I am telling her. "How's it possible, by the way? Did you see his eyes under the light? Then they're bound to glow, stupid," she adds and giggles in the end, bowing her head and hiding her stretched lips behind her palm. I sigh. "Come on, I'm not that stupid!" I complain and she giggles again, the sound coming hushed. "And his eyes are dark, for your kind information. They can shine only under the sunlight," I tell her with a roll of my eyes which she can not see. I do not care. "Good logic, but still, Jules, i
JULIEI come out of the car as I kiss my dad goodbye. I make my way to my classroom and find my dear cousin Blue standing at the door. I spread my arms wide as I welcomed her for a hug. She jumped in my embrace and hugged me tightly. Her strawberry scent meets my nostrils and I smile unconsciously. "It's good to see you smiling, Jules," she sighs, pulling away. My arms let go of her figure and I scan her outfit which I find pretty later. She always dresses up like an angel. Or I say just like Lolita. She is wearing a white knee-length dress with red small heart patterns. There is a pearl necklace wrapped around her neck and black shoes on her feet. I wonder if she is not into old men. "Thanks, you know I just can't stay sad all the damn time," I say as we walk into the classroom. The sound of my classmates' shouting falls in my ears and I turn my eyes and see that my classmates are playing with fun by throwing and catching something. Jeremy is also one of them. That thing comes fl
JULIE"Dad," I say quietly, averting my gaze as soon as he lifts his gaze to me. "Yes?" He asks. As I peer up at him, I notice his brow is cocked and his face has turned towards me. The volume of the TV had turned down already as soon as I called him. "Um… actually Mr. Taylor wants to meet you tomorrow morning." I dare to look up at him and see his face frowning a bit. There is a slight layer of disappointment on his face. I can't bear it already. "Jules, what did you do today?" I squeeze my eyes shut just as his voice drops down, sudden amazement bothers him. It is a matter of great shame that at the age of eighteen, the teacher has to complain about me — call my dad. "I… I spaced out." He sighs. It was as if he expected this from me. Because getting carried away in my thoughts is not something new. Dad got many such complaints that instead of studying in class, I was lost in my thoughts. "Guess what? I expected it, Jules. Well, I'll definitely go see Mr. Taylor. He has come n
JULIEMr. Taylor's appearance in the morning made me suddenly remember that I do not have to sit at the back of the class. Because he wanted me to sit in front of him, I had to sit at the first desk in the classroom. But I never thought that Blue would already be found sitting on the desk next to mine. "Morning, Jules!" She chirps like always, looking like a sunflower in this yellow short dress that reaches her mid-thighs. I have to admit that the girl has sexy legs, unlike mine, fatty and ugly. I do not like my thighs at all. And about my hips, I cannot even glance at them because the wide embarrassing size of them makes me whimper right there. Even today I did not want to wear this little white dress, but it was the dress my father had given me on my seventeenth birthday — that is, last year. And I have not even touched this dress since then. My father could not understand this insecurity of mine, so he got me such a lovely dress. But I could not keep this dress decorated forever
JULIEI step out. I look back ahead and see my dad leaning against the wall. He had his hands stuffed into the pocket of his trousers and he was waiting for me. I begin to walk towards him. I ignore the look the girls around us give to my dad. I know. I know my dad is handsome but they do not have to make it obvious. But thank God, my father is blessed with confidence so nothing affects him. As he senses my presence, he turns to look at me and grins. "Dad!" I jump into his arms as he wraps them around my waist, pulling me closer. His manly scent engulfs me and I love it the most. But nowadays, Mr. Taylor's scent is working more furiously on me. I find it extremely attractive, I won't lie to myself at least. "I'm so happy to see you here!" I add as I pull myself away, now standing right in front of him, grinning like always. I am the happiest around him. "Me either. The meeting was over. Thought to see you before leaving." He shrugged, and I noticed his smile fading away. I sigh a
JULIEAlthough I turned red in front of Mr. Taylor because of that boy, I am also thankful to him on the other hand that because of him, I did not have to listen to Mr. Taylor's speech on discipline. Otherwise, my time could have been wasted on the pretext of listening to his speech. I arrive at the cafeteria and as Jeremy said, I find him standing at the counter, flirting with Elena, the girl who handles the counter. "The apron looks good on you," he says, the corner of his lips tugging up in a mischievous smirk. Elena smiles, shaking her head and continuing her work. She is used to this behavior of Jeremy. He flirts with each girl that catches his attention. But because of his handsome appearance and charming nature, no girl can even deny him. "Thanks, Jer," she says as she pulls out a cup in which she fills chocolate. She mixes it with ice cream and decorates it further while I reach Jeremy. "Hey, Jules," he grins, giving me his full attention. I give him a small smile and gre
JULIEThe bell rings and I get up from the bench. I hurriedly put my stuff into my knapsack and so does Blue. Other students start to take their leave, too, while I throw my knapsack on my back, turning to look at Blue. "You have a car, right?" I ask her. She turns to me, holding her knapsack. She nods her head, a hint of confusion on her face indicating why I asked that. I just shake my head with a smile, uttering, "No, it's just, I'll be staying here for a while.""But why?" She takes a step out of the desk and we begin walking to the door. The class is almost empty. Nobody likes to see Mrs. Carter's boring face. Her lecture is like a lullaby. "Um… I need to search for a few books in the library, so," I trail off, walking slowly with her. "It's okay. Just take care. Ask Jer to accompany you. He's also going to stay for football practice," she tells me and I give her a grateful smile. I know for what he is going to stay. "Okay then, have a great day," she moves to leave while I ma
JULIETwenty minutes are about to pass. I am chewing the back of my pen while thinking hard. I have almost solved the question but the last entry seems out of mind. I am unable to think which account should be debited and suddenly, I get the answer. I quickly write it down and the moment I am done, Mr. Taylor claps his hands, catching our attention. "The time is over. I'm collecting the sheets and tell me who else is done?" I steal a tizzy glance at Mr. Taylor before I start checking the answer. To his question, Nicole, Harley, Milan, and Ace raise their hands. They get the work of collecting sheets and as I am sitting on the first bench, he towers over me, putting his hands in front of me, asking for the sheet. "Yeah, just a second!" I utter and quickly check my answer in case I am missing something to add. I am not sure about my answer either but small mistakes can also lead to big problems. And when I am his most hated student, he won't leave even a single chance to harass me.
