CHAPTER THIRTY

Casey’s POV

A gasp tore out of my throat as I watch him, wide-eyed, storm through the crowd heading right towards me.

“Now what does he want?” Danny growled low beside me. As Carlos was getting nearer, Danny moved to my front, blocking Carlos from my sight.

Now facing my uncle’s back, I stood on my tiptoes, peered over his shoulder, and saw Carlos standing taut with a scowl etched on his face.

“Move.” His lips moved slowly, eyeing only me.

I honestly don’t know how I did it. It was the voice in my head. The voice that kept calling out to him, kept purring whenever he was nearby.

“No can do. Whatever you have to say to her, you can say it through me,” Danny snarled.

There was silence, for a moment.

Carlos and I locked stares and fear bubbled in my stomach. I knew what he was about to say.

So, I give him a shake of my head. A desperate plea, and I hoped he could read eyes because at this moment, it was my only saving grace.

Now that’s a twist. There has to be a meaning to why his mate’s wolf has the same name as his mother’s…right?
