Evvie’s POV:

I stifled a laugh as the beta got up, avoiding my gaze at all costs as he marched his way towards the door. He did not stop to so much as look at me, ignoring me as I called after him.

“Where are you going? Come back!”

He turned a deaf ear, slamming the door then locking it.

When I knew I was alone, I didn’t bother to fight the snicker tickling the back of my throat.

“How rude.” My wolf commented, and I rolled my eyes at her.

“Come on. It was funny though, right?” I taunted, but her silence told me she wasn’t on my side.

“Party pooper.” I mumbled, which finally triggered a reaction from her as she released a low growl.

I felt my wolf take her leave, again withdrawing to the back of my mind.

I let my gaze drop to the tray scattered on the floor. Scanning the area, I searched for the fork I purposely threw somewhere close while I used my mouth. I found it lying on the floor two meters away from my side.

Evvie’s POV:“I’ll be waiting.” I mimicked his voice, dropping my own to match his husky tone. My eyes rolled to the back of my head, making a face, while my wolf huffed.“I super dislike it when you mock our mate.” I knew if Vana was a being outside my own, she’d be huffing and pinning me now with a look of disapproval.“Hush, I’m in no mood.” I growled lowly, and she grunted but says nothing more as she retreats to the back of my head.Clenching my teeth, I couldn’t seem to look at anything else but at the door where he came and left. My eyes burning with anger as I glared holes through it.That one night we shared together had been too short for me to realize what kind of person Alpha Logan was in reality. And for a period of time, I often doubted Barrak’s stories about the man. His past, his sins, his greed and need for power and control over everything he touches.“That night, you begged me to mark you,” his voice, although too fucking sexy not to notice, echoed in my head with a

His eyes were focused on something else, making me squint at him.“What’s going on with you?” I asked, and his distant gaze snapped to me before he blinked.“Nothing. It’s aching again.” He replied, clearing his throat but I doubt that was the case.Still, I cannot believe he’d let himself be taken out by a woman. I smirked, feeling proud as I envisioned what that scene would look like.My eyes wander to the clock hanging o

Evvie’s POV:“Who the fuck is this?” Vana growled, anger emanating from her words. My teeth clenched as I let my eyes assess the woman in a sexy dress as she stood beside him, heaving. Her curious eyes were fixed on me, then swept across my body down the pile of mess caused by his genius of a beta.“Whoever she is, it’s none of our business.” I snapped back.Still, I couldn’t hide the jealousy in my eyes as my blood boiled in rage. And the urge to launch myself at her has my gripping the arm chair. My claws slipping out as I did. When she flicked her eyes back to mine, for a split second I thought her eyes softened looking at me. I dismissed the thought. Maybe it was just my imagination. Her turquoise green orbs moved to look at Logan in anger.“You did this?” She growled at him.Logan returned her gaze with confusion and shock. He did not answer, blinking at her.“I taught you better.” The woman said like she was his mother. Then, walking towards me, she tucked her dress between her

Logan’s POV:I let out a sigh, which I guess, would be the 39th time within the duration of the past thirty minutes.“If you’re so worried, want me to check on them?”“No,” I snapped, realizing I had lost my shit. I cleared my throat, “No.”Carlos walked over, leaning his lower back against my desk.“She wouldn’t hurt her.”I sighed, again.“I know that. It’s just…” My hands shoots into my hair, I grunt.“Leona has her… preferences.”Carlos raised a brow at me.“What preferences?”Leaning back, I tipped my head up, staring at the ceiling.“You’d be surprised.”I swiveled my chair180 degrees, facing the glass wall overlooking the view from the packhouse.“How did she even know I was here?” I growled.I did everything in my power to avoid her. Going to places where I knew she wouldn’t venture out and find me.I was careful before she came marching in my fucking office.“Apparently, she’s looking for someone from the Elite forces of the Blood Moon Pack.”His words rendered me completely

Being an elite warrior is no secret of mine. But my pack, the Black Moon Pack, is a name that’s too risky for me to reveal.Especially in front of someone pointing a gun to my head. And not just any weak-ass gun a pretty princess like her can pick up. My eyes examined the little beauty in her hand. It’s a special kind of silencer gun that you can’t easily find anywhere in the state. Back home, only the elite forces were privileged to play with one of these. It’s priceless. If she happened to possess one of these, then it only means one thing. She’s an assassin. The Black Moon Pack is widely known for its power and money, surpassing other packs including this one, despite it being a pack filled with

Zachary’s POV: As soon as I walked out of the douchebag’s office, I headed back to my car. Pulling out my phone, I quickly went to contacts and rang Ethan’s number. He picked it up after a few seconds. “Where is Evvie? What did he do to her?” I barked, demanding for answers. My knuckles turning white as I gripped the steering wheel. “Calm down. She is safe in the pack house. Apparently, she’s being punished for challenging the Alpha.” He snorted. “Challenging him?” I shot at him. Evvie would never do that. My Evvie is a sweet, kind, and gentle girl who wouldn’t even hurt a fly. “That’s impossible.” I huffed. “She wouldn’t do that.” I claimed, but even I sounded unsure. “He told me himself.” “Either way, she’s in good hands.” Anger rushed through me that instant, my free hand coming down to punch the wheel, startling the omega maids who walked by. Some flinched. Some even hunched down to see what I’d do next. Ever since Evvie’s return, my emotions

Evvie’s POV:It didn’t take me long to notice his new buzzcut and damn. I’d be lying if I said he didn’t look so handsome. It was just like when it was still the two of us, before he went to the summer training camp. Pride never failed to fill my chest as I watched the pang of jealousy flash across every woman we came across. He was my world. And I was his.I forced my feet to move as I gazed up, not taking our gaze off one another. I couldn’t help but notice that he looked cleaner and more matured. His defined jawlines were more exposed, reminding me again of the times when girls around him would swoon while I was given nothing but sneers. But his eyes were always on me. Choosing me.I gulped, taking a step forward as I forced my feet to move.“What are you doing here?” I finally asked because it seems like he won’t talk as he kept staring at me.Startled by my question, he cleared his throat.“Have you had dinner?” His eyes twinkled expectantly.Biting my lower lip, I shake my head.

I tried to move on with a life without my fated mate, knowing he’s coddling another woman and a child in his tow.Relief mixed with guilt swirled in his eyes at my reply. He nodded, and I saw pain radiate through his eyes.“I’m sorry I caused you pain.” He croaked. He did not meet my eyes and he averted his gaze away from mine.I took in a deep breath and sighed.“I’m sorry about Brenda.” Ther

I asked, casting a worried look to my dress as I smoothed it down."Are you kidding?" Pixie was the first to speak, as Evvie was still in a trance."You look amazing!" She beamed.I smiled."Absolutely gorgeous." Evvie nodded in agreement, snapping out of her trance.A wide grin spread on my face. "Thank you," I sighed, turning back to the mirror. "Is something wrong?" Pixie steps forward, a worried look on her face. For the nth time, I let out a sigh. "What if...this was a mistake? What if I'm not ready for this? Casey's POVThe Alpha led the way, and I followed closely behind him. Right now, we're back at the dungeons. The cells. How the hell did he get himself locked up back in here? He agreed to do the mission in exchange for freedom. I sighed."Just so you know, I didn't want to do this." The Alpha muttered.I nodded, but didn't speak."I had no choice. He was getting out of control." "But to put him back in that cell?" I snapped. I couldn't close my damn mouth to save my life. The Alpha stopped in his tracks, twirling on his heel to face me. The look in his eyes now is deadly."Listen, girl. This is also out of my control. I can't control him.""Why?"His eyes narrowed at me."You're the alpha." I added. He squinted at me before he sighed. He shook his head. "Not everything is as simple as you think." I tilted my head. I wondered what he meant by that when a guard rushed over to us."Alpha, he's losing it!" There is no mistaking it.He's the little brother Carlos told me about. But I thought he said he died. Clearly, that was not the case at all. He's here, alive. And it's either he happens to be here or he is one of the rogues. And by the looks of it, he is one of them.Carlos stared at him all the time, and his hands were shaking. I could hear his heartbeat racing. The way he swallowed when he saw him for the first time. Some of the trackers behind me growled, but Carlos held up his hand in warning. Not to take action. That he had this under control.'Get the children to safety. I will deal with this.' He sent the message through the group link. All of us just froze.'Now!' The warning in his voice has become a real threat. It had everyone jolting up to go to move the children to safety. I, however, stayed in my spot unmoving.Something's not righ

CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN Carlos’ POV Is it him? Is it really him? I can’t believe it. Even Vato became dead silent. Is it really our little brother? But that’s impossible. He died, years ago. I saw it happen with my own eyes. I stare gobsmacked at the man. His eyes were coral blue, something he’d gotten from our mother. His hair, jet black slicked back just like mine. He even has that same birthmark I remember him having as a child. I tried moving my lips, but they’re frozen as ice. “Lucas?” He smiled at Casey, but something about his expression felt different. Then he whips his gaze to me. Suddenly, he drops it. His eyes darkened, and I felt my blood run cold. TWENTY YEARS AGO… Blood. The air around me is filled with blood. Most belonging to my Dad, who had dropped dead on the ground before me. “Hmm,” I hear a rumbling sound. As I turn my head slowly, I realize I needed to look up to clash eyes with the figure I saw kill my Dad. My eyes raised, and my breath hit
