Emilia Abel - POV
My eyes were drooping closed, but I opened them wide as I drove at a little over a hundred miles per hour on the empty road. I have been driving for more than six hours without sleep, and I lost track of my location as well. The sun was beginning to come up from the horizon, suggesting a new day ahead. My eyes almost shut close again when I saw something abruptly jump in front of my car. I didn't have enough time to stop the vehicle as the animal collided with my vehicle, and fell to the floor a few meters away. My heart was beating so fast while my hands trembled from the collision. I quickly got out of the car and ran towards the wolf when it turned into a human. He was badly injured, and I saw there were a lot of cut wounds while he was bleeding from his head. He must easily tower over me when I saw that the entire left side of his chest, along with his arm, was heavily tattooed. With his clean-shaven face and his close-cut hairstyle, it only suggested that he must be someone of importance. Shit! I have no idea who he is, but one thing was certain, he was a pack wolf, and if someone found him dead, I knew they would be after my head. “Argh.” the man groaned. I quickly knelt on the floor and took his head on my lap. “Hey, can you hear me?” I asked him, but all he did was groan. I looked around the deserted road to see that no one was there for me to call for help when I heard the sound of wolves. I looked at the forest when I saw three rogues approaching us. I knew it was not safe to stay in here anymore, so I helped the man up. “Can you walk?” I asked him when he nodded his head as I led him to the passenger seat and helped him inside. After closing the door, I quickly made my way to the driver's side and got in just in time to see the rogues emerge from the forest as I sped out of there. They stared at my car till I couldn't see them anymore. “Do you know any hospitals nearby?” I asked the man. “Don’t g…go to the hospital.” he insisted, but seeing his wounds, I didn't think he would survive. “We can help him.” Silver suggested when I felt fear engulf me. Mom warned me to be cautious, but looking at this man next to me as his life gradually drained out of him, I knew I would not be able to stay put. I looked around when I spotted an old motel a few meters in front. I turned onto the dirt road, parked my car in front of the entrance, and walked inside. The reception was a small area with a desk and two couches for guests to sit, and there was a closed door behind the desk. I walked closer to the desk and rang the bell on it a few times. A few minutes later, a man walked out of the door. “What can I help you with?” he grumbled as he rubbed his eyes to get rid of the sleep. “Um, can I get a room for two?” I asked him while I discreetly took a sniff of the atmosphere. I felt my racing heart calm down when I realized that the man was human. “Sure, but who is the other person?” he asked me as he looked behind me with a frown. “He is my husband. He is in the car, and we have been traveling for a few days now.” I lied. “Okay,” the man replied as he took out his register. After writing down my details, he gave me the room key while he stood there waiting for me to go out. “Aren’t you going to call your husband inside, ma'am?” he asked me. How the hell am I supposed to bring him in when he is soaked head to toe in blood? “Ye…yeah. I will come back.” I told him as I walked outside. I wiped away the perspiration from my forehead as I looked around my surroundings to see that there was no one around us. I walked back to the car and opened the passenger side door when I saw a pool of blood on the floor. Shit! “Hey,” I lightly shook the man’s shoulder when he woke up, but his eyes were staring at the ground. “Can you get up?” I asked him, and he nodded his head. He grabbed my hand and soon got out of the vehicle when he quickly draped his hand around my shoulder as I closed the door. My heartbeat increased while I prayed to the moon goddess that the man should have gone back inside. I don't want that human to call the cops when he sees me walk inside with a stark naked man who is injured. As we walked inside, I let out the breath I was holding when I saw no one in there. As quickly as I could, I helped the man up the stairs and to our room. By the time we walked inside, the man collapsed onto the floor, bringing me down with him. “Ouch!” I whispered when I landed on my hand, and from the pain shooting up my arm, I knew I just twisted it. I got up from the floor and moved toward the man, who was now unconscious. Thirty minutes later, I had managed to wipe away the blood and get a better look at his wounds. There were at least three stab wounds, and the wound that was close to his heart had something inside it. “Do you think we can heal this?” I asked Silver as I assessed the wounds. “Yes, but the wound near the heart looks like it might need to be cut open.” “Cut open! I am not a damn doctor, Silver.” I yelled at her as I lightly traced my finger over that wound before I abruptly pulled away with a hiss. I looked at my finger to see a deep cut on it when my eyes widened in shock. “There is a knife inside.”Emilia Abel - POVI might be a healer, but I have always never been that good with blood, and looking at this man’s wounds, I felt the bile rise up my throat. “We need to save him before he dies in here, Amy,” Silver yelled at me when I nodded my head. I walked out of the room, made my way back to the car, and grabbed my bags as I walked back upstairs. After making sure that the room door was locked, I placed my bags on the bed and looked for the first aid kit that my mom packed for me. I took out most of my clothes when I finally found what I was looking for and placed them on the bed. As I opened it, I saw that Mom had packed everything she would need for an operation, even though I told her that I would never need all these. I placed everything I would need on the bed, grabbed the blanket from the bed, walked towards the man, and placed it over his lower half. I wore a pair of surgical gloves took my equipment towards him, and sat next to him as I began stitching him up. Once I
Emilia Abel - POVI felt extremely warm but cozy at the same time as I felt the hold on me tighten. I tried to turn around, but I was locked in my position when I heard a light knocking on the door. With great difficulty, I opened my eyes, while I squinted a few times to clear my vision to see that the room was pitch dark.I must have slept the entire day. I tried to get up, but the man’s hold on me tightened, and I felt something poke my inner thigh. “Miss, are you inside?” I heard a man yell. I quickly detangled myself from his hold and got up from the floor. After taming my wild curls, I walked towards the room door and opened it to see the man from the reception standing there. “Yes?” “Just a routine check. There are a few men here looking for someone. So…” I didn't hear the rest of his words as a cold shiver ran down my spine. Did he find me? “Could you and your husband come with me?” he asked me when I was broken out from my trance. I stepped out of the room and closed the
Emilia Abel - POV“What is your name?” he asked me a few minutes later. “Emilia Abel. And you?” I asked him. “Mateo Benjamin,” he said, and I nodded my head as I looked out through the window. “So, which pack are you from?” Gamma Benjamin questioned when I felt my blood run cold. I didn't know what to say as I blankly stared out at the many trees we last by. “Somewhere in the east.” I vaguely answered. When I saw a frown appear on his face. He didn't ask anything more. Thirty minutes later, Gamma Benjamin turned into a narrow lane into the forest, which soon widened to reveal a huge iron gate with a few warriors standing guard. As we stopped in front of the gates, a warrior approached our car. “Gamma Benjamin, who is this woman?” the warrior questioned as he stared at me. “She is with me. We are going to meet the Alpha,” he replied, the warrior nodded his head, and the gates were soon opened for us to pass inside. I have only heard rumors about the Red Stone pack because no one h
Emilia Abel - POVAs I walked out of Alpha Sanders's office, I saw Gamma Benjamin was still standing outside as he walked in. I walked towards the wall and leaned against it as I closed my eyes while Alpha Sanders's words kept playing in my mind. “I will not allow you to stay here as a permanent resident, but I will give you three months until you find another pack to move. That is the best I can offer, Miss. Abel.” “Miss. Abel.” I was broken out of my thoughts when I saw Gamma Benjamin standing in front of me with a set of keys. “Shall we go to your new room?” he asked me, and I nodded my head. We walked out of the hallway and walked up the stairs when he took a sharp right, and I saw the elevators. He pressed the button, and soon, the doors opened as we walked inside. “This is your access key. If you lose this, you will not be able to get out of this elevator. Do you understand, Miss. Abel?” Gamma Benjamin questioned as he showed me a silver key. I nodded my head when I saw him b
“I…I will come downstairs after taking a shower.” I told Gamma Benjamin, and even though he looked like he wanted to drag me out of there this very instant, he nodded his head and walked away as I closed my door and locked it behind me. I leaned against the door and slid down to the floor as the tears began to flow down my cheeks. Alpha Sanders must have already heard the news, and I don't think he would let me stay in here anymore. I looked out through the window at the open sky. “Please help me stay in here, moon goddess. I don't think I can go back to that monster again.” I mumbled. Knock knock. “Miss. Abel!” I heard someone knock on my door again when I quickly wiped away my tears and got up from the floor. “Give me five minutes I will come,” I called out when I quickly walked towards my closet, took out an off-shoulder sundress, and ran into the bathroom. After all my morning routines were done, I put on my clothes, walked out of the bathroom, put on my sandals, and opened m
Emilia Abel - POVI kept pacing back and forth in the hallway when the door abruptly opened, and Alpha Sanders walked outside with a nervous smile on his face. “I am sorry about his behavior, Miss. Abel.” “You don't have to apologize, Alpha Sanders. I think I can see why he does not want me.” I stammered as I looked down at the ground. It hurt to say those words, but I know that I can't stay in here anymore. The second chance mate I got does not want me either, and I don't want to stay here and see him with another woman. “No, Miss. Abel, I…”“I know, I will not stay here, Alpha Sanders. I will leave your pack in a few hours.” I told him as I finally looked up at him with a forced smile on my face. “Thank you once again,” I said, and when I was about to turn around and leave, I heard a voice that made my insides vibrate in bliss. “You don't have to leave.” I turned around when I saw Beta Rodriguez standing near the doorway with Gamma Benjamin. “Huh?” I was confused when he began w
Emilia Abel - POVI felt my blood run cold while a familiar numbness engulfed my body. This may be an unknown number, but I know this is my mother. I turned around and looked at the hallway to see that it was empty when I quickly dialed the number. The phone rang for a long time when she finally picked it up. “Mom?” I whispered as I felt my throat tighten. “Amy, are you safe, sweetheart?” my eyes watered when I heard her voice as I nodded my head.“Yes, who found out, mom?” “I received another letter from the Society, Amy. The last surviving healer was brutally murdered last night. So only you are remaining.” she whispered when I felt my breathing hitch. Well, there was once an ancient bloodline of wolves who were able to heal anything, and as time passed by, their numbers decreased, and people got greedy. Somewhere around eighteen hundred, a witch was able to find a spell that helped ordinary wolves steal the healer's powers, and this made all the healers go into hiding. And tha
“You know you will feel this pain when you sleep with another person who is not your mate. Then how is this clause in this agreement?” I asked Beta Rodriguez as I pointed to clause number 8, which stated that we could sleep with anyone during this one year, but it should be someone outside the pack. “I thought you already knew, Miss. Abel. I just hate liars, so don't try to act innocent with me.” Beta Rodriguez said, sounding irritated. “I have already asked the witch to get us the potion. She will deliver it tomorrow,” he said when I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach. I almost forgot about the potion that was used to block your emotions from your mate. I have heard of that before but Luis never used it because he wanted me to feel the pain every time he was with Ava. I went through the rest of the clauses when my eyes widened in surprise at the last one. “What is this?” I asked him as I pointed it out to him. He glanced at it before he leaned back on his chair. “Isn't i
Beta Andres Rodriguez - POVA million thoughts were running through my head right now, but I didn't pay heed to any of them while my glance was locked on her. She looked a little pale and tired, and this vomiting didn't sit well with me. Once she had finished the tea I made, she placed it on the table and was about to get up, when I gently made her sit again. “You need to finish your breakfast,” I told her when she turned around to look at me.“I don't think I can eat anything, Beta Rodriguez.” she asserted when I shook my head, I pulled out the chair that was next to hers took a seat, and took her plate. “You haven't eaten anything since yesterday, and this only makes you feel weak,” I told her as I took some sausages and brought them close to her mouth.“I will eat something later then. I don't think I can eat anything now.” “Just eat the sausages, Emilia. And then you can leave.” I insisted when she had a pout on her face, but then she obliged and began eating her food. Once she
Emilia Abel - POV“A rogue attack?” he asked me, sounding unsure.“Yes, now, what are you doing in my room, Beta Rodriguez?” I asked him when his eyes finally moved to the bags that he had. He placed them on the bed and moved towards the door. “I bought you some clothes,” he said in a monotone.“Why? Does my ten-dollar blouse look too cheap for your reputation?” I asked him when he stopped and turned around to face me. “No, but you are my mate, and it is my responsibility to take care of you till you are in this pack.” “I don't need your pity, Beta Rodriguez. I can take care of myself.” I said with sass when he took two large steps towards me till we were only a hairline space apart. My heartbeat began to race when I felt his hands rest on my waist. My breathing hitched as the sparks traveled through my body. “This is not pity, Emilia. I don't want people looking down on you,” he whispered. For a few seconds, I didn't know what I should say. My mind was in a jumble as I stared int
Beta Andres Rodriguez - POVIs she telling the truth? “There was honesty in her eyes.” Blake, my wolf, said.“Look who finally decided to talk.” I sarcastically told my wolf, which made him roll his eyes at me. “I will not help you until you accept our mate, Andres.” “How did you forget what happened the last time, Blake?” I asked him, sounding shocked that he had forgotten.“I didn't. But I can feel it, Andres. She is different.” he said, but I ignored him, placed my empty coffee mug inside the kitchen sink, and made my way to my office. I looked through all my contacts when I finally found the number of my tech guy and called him. “Hello, Beta Rosrighez. How can I help you today?” he answered the call on the fourth ring itself. “I want certain information about a person. Her bank account details, and how much money she has under her name. And other information.” I said.“Sure, Beta. Give me the name and I will get you the details,” he said.“Emilia Abel,” I told him when he hum
Emilia Abel - POVMy cheeks were still a fiery red from the insults that I faced at the boutique earlier, but what hurt me, even more, was that Beta Rodriguez didn't even do anything to stop them from speaking so low about me. I put that incident to the back of my mind and looked at the beautiful street lights that were coming alive around me. A soft smile formed on my face as I saw the bustling streets and the pack members enjoying the night. It has been ages since I last left Luis’s house, and I think I have missed all this. As I reached Beta Rodriguez’s house, I tried to open the front door, but it was locked when I almost face-palmed myself. I don't even have the key to go inside. I placed my shopping bags on the carpet and looked out at the empty road, hoping that he would come back soon. The minutes gradually turned to hours, and there was still no sight of Beta Rodriguez. The night air had dropped a few degrees, making me shiver as I rubbed myself to keep warm. My legs had al
Emilia Abel - POV“This is our latest collection, ma'am. Would you like to try this on?” the woman asked me as she picked out another expensive-looking suit but this one caught my eye. It was a simple white skirt with a pastel purple silk blouse. “This looks beautiful,” I told her when the smile on her face widened. “Then you should definitely try this on.” she insisted when I looked at Daisy. “I think you should, Miss. Abel.” Daisy said, and I nodded my head and took the suit as I made my way to the changing room. I placed my handbag on the floor and removed my clothes when I saw that the bandages that I had tied around me had loosened.I don't think I have the time to adjust this now. I removed my clothes and hung them next to me before I took the suit. Before wearing it, I took the price tag out, and the moment I saw the price, I felt like my heart exploded inside me. Nine hundred dollars just for this top? I only have a fifty-dollar note, how on earth am I going to afford this
Emilia Abel - POVDaisy and I walked out of the pack house towards the garden that I had never seen. It was a masterpiece with a variety of flowering plants arranged beautifully. As we walked down the stoned pathway, I saw that someone had already set a table for two, and the food was on the table with a vase of red roses. It felt like a romantic setup and this made me confused. “Who did all this?” I asked Daisy as we came to a stop in front of the table. She didn't answer right away when I turned around to see that she looked nervous. “I…it was me, Miss. Abel. But if you need anything changed, then I can get that done as well.” she told me. “That won't be necessary. I like it.” I told her as I took a seat when she stood behind the second chair. “Why are you standing there?” I asked her when I saw her eyes widen in fear again. “Oh, I am sorry. I will be at my office. You can call me if you need anything, Miss. Abel.” she mumbled, and just before she walked away, I called out her n
Emilia Abel - POV“Have you worked as a secretary before, or is this your first time?” I asked her when she began to fidget with her fingers. “I worked for Mrs. Rodriguez a few years ago, but when she wrongly accused me of stealing money from the funds, Alpha Sanders sent me away to live in the human town.” “And you are back here?” I asked her, sounding confused when she finally looked at me. “When Mrs. Rodriguez left this pack, everything came to light, and Alpha Sanders took me back inside the pack. I have been working as his junior assistant secretary since then, when he transferred me here, Miss. Abel.” “This Mrs. Rodriguez, is this Andres’s mother?” I asked her when she shook her head. “His first mate,” she told me when I nodded my head. I don't know why this woman was accused of such a thing, but her statement, only shows me that his ex-mate has done a lot of things that must have almost tarnished his name. “That's all right. So, do you have my schedule for today, Daisy?”
Emilia Abel - POVI threw the ruined tank top into the dustbin as I walked into the bathroom with the first aid kit. First, I wiped the wound clean using some spirits, and then I began to apply the cream. It was not easy with all the scars around my body, and once I was done, I wrapped a bandage around my belly and then walked back into the bedroom and fell onto the bed, instantly falling asleep. Beep beep.My face scrunched up in annoyance at the sound of my alarm while I tried to find my phone with my eyes closed, but after a few failed attempts, I had to open my eyes and look for it, ruining my sleep. I stretched my body and looked out through the window at the pleasant weather outside. It wasn't sunny, nor was it raining. It was just the perfect weather. I got up from my place and walked into the bathroom and slowly removed the bandage to see that most of the wound had healed, leaving a scar except for a few. I threw the used bandages into the rubbish bin, removed my clothes, an
Emilia Abel - POVThe phone slipped from my hand and fell to the floor while the tears flowed down my cheeks as I bit my lips to prevent any sound. I knew I should go back to the Winter Moon pack, but then I remembered what my mother told me just before I left the pack that night. “I know Luis might eventually figure out that I was involved in your escape, and they might even imprison me and threaten you to come back. But under no circumstances, should you return. Do you understand Emilia?” she asked me as she held my hands in a strong grip. There was fear swirling in her eyes as she looked deep into my eyes. “How can I stay away when your life is at stake, Mom?” I asked her when I felt my eyes cloud with tears. “I can't risk you coming back, sweetheart. Even if I die, don't you ever come back to him? He would ruin you.” she said when my eyes widened in fear as I shook my head. “I will not let you die because of me, Mom. I have no one except you in my life and…” Before I could fin
