Emilia Abel - POV

I kept pacing back and forth in the hallway when the door abruptly opened, and Alpha Sanders walked outside with a nervous smile on his face. “I am sorry about his behavior, Miss. Abel.”

“You don't have to apologize, Alpha Sanders. I think I can see why he does not want me.” I stammered as I looked down at the ground. It hurt to say those words, but I know that I can't stay in here anymore. The second chance mate I got does not want me either, and I don't want to stay here and see him with another woman.

“No, Miss. Abel, I…”

“I know, I will not stay here, Alpha Sanders. I will leave your pack in a few hours.” I told him as I finally looked up at him with a forced smile on my face. “Thank you once again,” I said, and when I was about to turn around and leave, I heard a voice that made my insides vibrate in bliss.

“You don't have to leave.” I turned around when I saw Beta Rodriguez standing near the doorway with Gamma Benjamin.

“Huh?” I was confused when he began walking towards me. My heartbeat picked up as my breathing became uneven. Beta Rodriguez came to a halt right in front of me when he moved his hand and gently took mine in his.

The sparks that traveled through my body made me feel alive again while Silver jumped for joy inside my head. “I am sorry, I shouldn't have reacted that way.” he apologized when my eyes widened in shock. “When I heard that you were from the Winter Moon pack and that you already have a mate, I got a little emotional.”

“I don't have a mate. I rejected him when…”

“I know.” he interrupted me as he looked deep into my eyes. “Will you forgive me, and shall we start afresh?” he asked me as a small smile adorned his face. I nodded my head when I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. For a moment, I thought that I would never find love again. I know it is too soon to fall in love with someone, and the mate bond never makes you fall in love with your mate instantly. It only works as a catalyst to speed up the process, and even though I am still not there yet, I know that I might eventually love him.

“I am happy you made the right decision, Andres. It is very rare to get a second chance mate.” Beta Rodriguez left my hand and turned around to face his Alpha.

“You were right, Lucas. I don't think I should hold onto the past anymore,” he said when I saw Alpha Sanders briefly look at his Gamma.

“I think we should get going, Mateo. Let them have some time together,” he said, and with one last look at me, both of them left that place.

“Shall we go to my house?” Beta Rodriguez asked me, and I nodded my head as we walked outside.

As I walked out of the pack house, I saw a Porsche in the driveway when a warrior got down from the driver seat and walked towards us. “Beta Rodriguez, your car,” he said as he handed over the car keys. Beta Rodriguez nodded his head and walked towards the car while I made my way to the passenger seat.

He drove down the road we passed by earlier when I began to see the houses. There were a lot of pack members outside their house, enjoying this beautiful day. A nostalgic smile appeared on my face when I remembered the day I was this happy and carefree. It was almost a year ago, just before I found out that Luis was my mate.

The pack houses began to slowly fade away when I saw a beautiful house in the distance that was detached from the rest. It was a two-storey modern house with a garden in front that had rose bushes. Beta Rodriguez parked his car at the entrance and got down, and I followed right behind him.

We walked towards the front door, and he walked inside the house without giving me much of a second glance. “Make yourself comfortable, I have some important work I have to attend to,” he told me in a monotone, and without even turning around, he made his way to the staircase and rushed up the stairs.

“What's wrong with him?”

“Give him some time, Amy.” Silver consoled me, but for some reason, I felt like a sense of deja vu engulfed me. This is exactly how Luis behaved for the first few days after we found out that we were mates.

I took a deep breath and calmed myself as I looked around the foyer. On my right side, there was an archway that opened up to a living room, that had a huge glass wall overlooking the forest outside, and as I walked in further, there was another arch next to the staircase that opened to a kitchen.

I walked into the kitchen and looked inside all the cabinets, when I finally found a bottle of coffee powder, I placed it on the counter and began making myself some coffee.

“Maybe, we could make some breakfast for our mate.” Silver suggested when my heart began to palpitate again. Beta Rodriguez’s behavior toward me completely changed the moment we walked into his house, and I don't know why, but the sense of happiness I previously felt was now consumed by fear.

“No, maybe we will wait till he comes down,” I told her as I poured the coffee into a cup, took it to the table, and took a seat.

Ting.

A frown formed on my face as I took out my phone to see that I had got a message from an unknown number. When I was leaving the pack, I left my phone behind, afraid that he might track me using that, so I only had the phone that mom had packed for me.

They found out - unknown.

Emilia Abel - POVI felt my blood run cold while a familiar numbness engulfed my body. This may be an unknown number, but I know this is my mother. I turned around and looked at the hallway to see that it was empty when I quickly dialed the number. The phone rang for a long time when she finally picked it up. “Mom?” I whispered as I felt my throat tighten. “Amy, are you safe, sweetheart?” my eyes watered when I heard her voice as I nodded my head.“Yes, who found out, mom?” “I received another letter from the Society, Amy. The last surviving healer was brutally murdered last night. So only you are remaining.” she whispered when I felt my breathing hitch. Well, there was once an ancient bloodline of wolves who were able to heal anything, and as time passed by, their numbers decreased, and people got greedy. Somewhere around eighteen hundred, a witch was able to find a spell that helped ordinary wolves steal the healer's powers, and this made all the healers go into hiding. And tha

“You know you will feel this pain when you sleep with another person who is not your mate. Then how is this clause in this agreement?” I asked Beta Rodriguez as I pointed to clause number 8, which stated that we could sleep with anyone during this one year, but it should be someone outside the pack. “I thought you already knew, Miss. Abel. I just hate liars, so don't try to act innocent with me.” Beta Rodriguez said, sounding irritated. “I have already asked the witch to get us the potion. She will deliver it tomorrow,” he said when I felt my heart sink to the pit of my stomach. I almost forgot about the potion that was used to block your emotions from your mate. I have heard of that before but Luis never used it because he wanted me to feel the pain every time he was with Ava. I went through the rest of the clauses when my eyes widened in surprise at the last one. “What is this?” I asked him as I pointed it out to him. He glanced at it before he leaned back on his chair. “Isn't i

Emilia Abel - POVFor a moment, I felt like everything around me came to a standstill while the only person around me was Beta Rodriguez. “Why do you keep calling him Beta Rodriguez? He is our mate. Call him by his first name.” Silver said, sounding irritated. “I don't want to get attached, Silver. We have a contract, and we should be leaving him when that is over.” I reminded her, and strangely, she kept quiet. I took a deep breath to calm myself as I began walking towards him. I saw the warriors who were there stop for a moment to bow at me in respect, and I managed to give them all a pleasant smile. As I reached Beta Rodriguez, I saw an unreadable look on his face. “What the hell is this?” he sneered as he tried to keep a straight face. A frown appeared on my face while I was confused as to what he was referring to.“What do you mean?” I asked him when a sarcastic smile appeared on his face. “Right, I forgot who you are, Miss. Abel,” he said as he stepped back, but from his tone

Emilia Abel - POVI turned around, and for a moment, I was frozen in shock while my mind was unable to comprehend if I was dreaming or if he was really there. “Jasper?” I breathed out when I realized that he was as equally surprised to see me there as well. “You are really here?” he asked me when my lower lip began to tremble as I nodded my head. I couldn't believe it. The day Luis threw Jasper out of the winter moon pack, I was not allowed to leave the house, and I was never told where he went. “Yes, and you are here?” I asked him when he nodded his head. It was like the novelty of the surprise wore off as he took two large steps towards me and pulled me into a hug. The warmth and familiarity made my eyes water as I hugged him a little tighter. Ever since I came to this pack, all I received was coldness both from my mate and the others. As I pulled back, I looked up to see that he had not changed much. There was a small stubble on his chin while his brown eyes twinkled with the sa

Gamma Luis Knight - POVKnock knock. “Come in,” I called out when my office door opened, and the two trackers I sent out earlier stood in front of me. “What did you find?” I asked them as I pushed away the file I was reading.“She is not in any of the southern packs, Gamma Knight. But we just got a hold of the CCTV footage from the highway.” “And?” “We are still looking into it. But if we find out which exist she took, we can have a chance of finding Miss. Abel.” he suggested.“So what are you waiting for? Go and start looking,” I said, and he nodded his head when the both of them walked out of there. As the door closed, I took out the file I was reading and opened it. The longer I saw that smile on Emilia’s face, it only made my blood boiled in anger. I would never forgive her for snatching away my child. Ring ring. I looked at my phone when I recognized the number. I picked it up and placed it on my ear. “She survived.” the man informed me when my hands curled into fists. “An

Ava White - POV“Ava, I don't think we should get involved in this.” Cole tried to reason, but I didn't care what he said. I don't think I can lose Luis after everything that I have done so far. I had to sacrifice my child for the sake of our love, and I am not going to let Emilia in this again. “Where is she right now, Cole?” I gritted out as I looked him in the eye. “She is residing in one of the northern packs,” he told me as I raised my eyebrow for him to continue. “Which pack?”“I don't think…”“Which pack, Cole?” I asked him in a firmer tone. I know it is not going to be an easy task to get into the northern packs, but with a little persuasion, I know we can get in unless it is the…“The Red Stone Pack.” I couldn't believe what he just said, my eyes widened in shock. “That's not possible,” I muttered.“I thought the same thing as well, Ava. Emilia Abel - POVAs I walked out of Beta Rodriguez’s office, I felt something new within me. Jasper was standing near the doorway. “Are you ready to take a tour of this pack?” he asked me with a smile on his face. “I need to read this file first. Could we start this tour after lunch?” I asked him, and he nodded his head. “Okay, so I will meet you in the foyer in two hours?” he asked me after looking at his watch. I nodded my head, and after patting my shoulder, he walked out of there. I thought that we would never have a future together, but the change in feelings in his eyes told me that there was still hope. I walked down the hallway when I came to a stop in front of a door that had a golden nameplate on it. Back in the winter moon pack, I was required to do certain gamma duties, but Luis soon diminished them till I was forced to stay back home. Even though I had my own office back home, I barely had any space to move around after having a desk, chair, and bookshelf inside. And

I removed my hand from his and stepped back.“Let's go, we have a lot to cover,” he told me, and I nodded my head before we walked out of the pack house. We walked down the dirt pathway when I began seeing the town come into my view. Pack members were busy shopping around and doing their daily duties as we passed by. No one knew who I was, so every person I passed by smiled at me with a pleasant look on their faces.“I wonder how long this would last,” I spoke out loud. “What are you talking about?” “This welcome. I don't know how long this will last when they find out which pack I am from.” I told him.“Don't worry, it would not be that bad,” Jasper told me when I realized that they would have known that Jasper was from the winter moon pack

Emilia Abel - POVI know I should not be mad right now. I don't even deserve to cry because we only have a contract mating bond, but I don't why, I felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing me in my heart. “Because he is our mate.” Silver stated as I furiously wiped away the tears and marched out of the pack house. “Miss. Abel?” I was walking towards Andres’s house when I heard Daisy’s voice, which made my steps flatter when she soon joined me. “So, it's true?” she asked me when I nodded my head as I came to a stop. The sun had already set on the horizon while the entire place was engulfed by the darkness that the night sky brings along. A sarcastic smile appeared on my face while my hand unconsciously cupped my belly. I don't know where I belong anymore. Luis made sure that I would never dream of going back to my old pack, and Andres made sure that I never thought about having a mate again. But among all this grief, I think the moon goddess has blessed me with the one happiness th

Beta Andres Rodriguez - POVAs we walked into the ultrasound room, a nurse helped Elizabeth climb onto the bed when Doctor Quinn walked in a few minutes later. He walked towards her and he was about to close the curtain when I held it. “You can start without closing the curtains, doctor Quinn,” I told him. Elizabeth is a star manipulator and I don't want her doing anything that would ruin this for me. The nurse helped Elizabeth lift her shirt and even though I was praying that she was faking this pregnancy, I was shocked to see that she was indeed pregnant. The nurse applied some sort of gel on her belly, when the doctor started the machine and began moving the wad around her belly while my eyes were glued to the monitor. I already have enough problems right now and I don't want this either. “There is your baby, Miss. Ross.” doctor Quinn finally said after a while as he pointed to the monitor. A loving smile appeared on her face while I stood frozen in my place. “Do you want to hea

Emilia Abel - POVIt's been a few days since Luis had come to the Red Stone pack, and even though Andres had sent him out, I was still on edge. Doctor Quinn’s words kept echoing in my head as I fidget with my pen. “Miss. Abel?” I looked up to see Daisy standing near my open door with two mugs of coffee. “Why do you still look tensed?” she asked me when I waved her off. She walked to my desk and placed one of the coffee mugs in front of me as I took a sip. “It's just the nerves and the stress, Daisy. Anyway, did you talk to the florist?” I asked her as I looked down at the file I was reading. The wedding of my first client is tomorrow morning, and I still have a lot to finish.“Yes, he said he is at the venue right now. But he would like to have your opinion as well, Miss. Abel.” she told me when I nodded my head. “Do I have any more appointments for the day?” I asked her when she shook her head. “We can go and check out the venue if you are ready,” she told me, and I nodded my hea

Do you understand?” he asked me, and I nodded my head. Knock knock. “Come in.” Doctor Quinn called while he pulled the curtain that covered me from view when I saw the nurse walk inside with Beta Rodriguez and Luis. I was lying back down on the bed when Doctor Quinn walked outside. “Please take a seat in here. You can take a look at this screen while I do the ultrasound. And if she is pregnant, you would be able to see that, all right?” he asked when they both nodded their heads as the nurse walked to stand beside me. I didn't know how he was going to show them that I was not pregnant when I saw the nurse spread a cold gel on my belly while Doctor Quinn took his wad and began moving it around my belly. Throughout the process, my heart wa

Emilia Abel - POV“You are correct, Beta Rodriguez. But you know the rules, if she is found pregnant with my child, then you are supposed to give up your bond with her.” Luis mocked when I felt like someone knocked the air out of my lungs. I felt my hold on Andres's arm tightened when he didn't say anything. Alpha Sanders walked towards us while his eyes were locked with mine. “Are you suggesting she might be pregnant, Gamma Knight?” Alpha Sanders asked Luis when a smile appeared on his face as he turned around to face Alpha Sanders. “I am not suggesting, Alpha Sanders. I am certain that she should be pregnant with my child. After all, it's been a month since we had sex.” Luis said as he turned around to face me. “Am I right, Emilia?” “If she was pregnant with your child, she should have shown signs of pregnancy, Gamma Knight.” Andres finally spoke.“And you are telling me she did not show any signs?” Luis questioned when Andres nodded his head. “If she did, I would have sent her

I don't know how am I going to meet him now. I am pregnant with Luis’s child, and he will be coming here today, if this information gets out, I know that Andres would not even stop Luis from taking me back home with him. “That would not be needed. Emilia Abel - POVI had my timer set for five minutes just to be on the safe side, and to be honest, this was the longest five minutes of my entire life as I paced back and forth in my bedroom. A million emotions were coursing through my veins right now but the prominent among them was fear. Fear of what the future would have for me and the uncertainty of my life. Ting ting. I nearly jumped out of my skin as my alarm went off when I quickly walked to the bed and turned it off. I took in a few deep breaths before I made it inside the bathroom. The pregnancy sticks were facing downwards as I gently turned them around with my eyes closed. You can do this, Emilia. Just have a positive thought. I whispered to myself as I opened my eyes and looked at the result. I felt like someone sucked the air from my lungs while I felt a numbing pain course through my veins. Tears pooled in the corner of my eyes as the pregnancy stick fell to the floor with a thud. This can't be true.I mumbled to

Emilia Abel - POV“How can I help you, ma'am?” the nurse sitting at the reception asked me. “I have an appointment with the pack doctor,” I told her.“Your name, ma'am?” “Emilia Abel,” I told her when she typed something on her computer as she finally looked up at me. “Doctor Quinn would be seeing you in room number ten, Miss. Abel.” the nurse told me, so I thanked her and began walking in further. The hospital was barely busy during this hour except for a few women who had come for their daily check-ups. Three hallways were branching out, and I took the one to my right and continued walking when I saw a few women were sitting on waiting chairs in front of a closed door. As I got closer, I realized that it was Doctor Quinn’s room. I stood by the door when it opened a few minutes later as a nurse stepped outside. She called a woman inside and then closed the door and walked towards me. “You must be Miss. Abel?” she asked me as she looked down at her tablet. “Yes, um, is it possib

  • Beta Andres Rodriguez   Chapter 33

Emilia Abel - POVI was so distracted with what happened in the kitchen earlier that I didn't even see where I was going as I bumped into something hard while my legs got tangled, and just as I was about to hit the floor, I felt a pair of strong arms hold me and pull me back up. “What is running through that pretty head of yours.” my eyes moved up when I saw Jasper with a smirk on his face. I quickly stepped away as a nervous smile formed on my face. “I am sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going,” I told him as he grabbed my handbag from the floor and gave it to me. “I can see that. You look distracted.” “Well, this is the first time I am working, so everything is a little overwhelming,” I told him when the smile on his face faded away. Jasper knew exactly how I lived with Luis and he had also witnessed how Luis punished me a few times too. It was when Jasper tried to save me from a beating that made Luis furious and made him falsely accuse Jasper and throw him out of the pack.
