"Yan, your father is coming back in twenty days. I don't want to hear it; everything has to go the way I want it. I don't want any mistakes when your father conducts the inspection," Shabila reminded Handoko's responsibilities. "Also, take this with you. Isn't this Devin's wedding gift for his wife?" She waved a document toward Bryan.

"Yes, I know. Everything is going as your father wanted. You've heard yourself that Alesya is no longer intact. And as for the certificate, Devin didn't say anything. I'm just supposed to deliver it during the reception. He said it's a birthday gift for his beloved."

"It could be. Their wedding has been moved up, which means today is significant for them."

"It could be." Bryan adjusted his appearance. As a VIP guest, he had to look presentable to meet new clients, including someone willing to inject funds into his company, even if it meant using Alesya's house as collateral.

And Bryan didn't know exactly what made Devin suddenly come and offer a sizable loan. Upon reflection, Devin could certainly help Alesya pay off her debts, so why did he only come now to lend her money? Paying off Alesya's debts could have brought them back together.

But Bryan didn't care about all that. What mattered was securing the funds for his company, and other matters were not his concern.

"If I may give some advice, it might be better to have Alesya checked again."

"Checked for what, Rei!" Bryan complained. He didn't understand why Shabila was so insistent on checking Alesya over and over again.

"Haven't you heard? She's only done it once or twice? Do you think she can get pregnant from that? We've been trying for so long, and we still haven't had a child."

"Once or twice won't make a difference. Especially if Nicholas, with that small... well, you know." Shabila made a hand gesture to emphasize her point, referring to Nicholas's manhood.

Bryan just shook his head, responding to Shabila's words. He agreed with what she said. Upon further reflection, it wasn't certain whether Nicholas had been successful in entering fully. The doctor did say Alesya was still tight. Ah, should they try again?

"What are you doing? Daydreaming and smiling to yourself? Are you going crazy?" Shabila elbowed Bryan in the ribs. She didn't like her husband thinking about anyone other than her.

"I'm not thinking about anything." Bryan reached for Shabila's wrist. "Let's go. We need to stop by the office to pick up some data before handing this over. I don't want Alesya's house to end up in Devin's hands just because we mortgaged it."

"But, Yan, if Alesya has given birth, and everything is going as your father wants, I want to sell everything off."

"It's up to you. I'll go along as long as I also get what I want from my father."

Bryan kissed the top of Shabila's head. Afterward, they walked side by side, leaving the room and preparing to attend Devin's wedding.

Without a hint of suspicion, Alesya let Bryan and Shabila pass in front of her. In Bryan's hand was a rather large envelope containing the certificate of her house, which would be mortgaged to Devin. Nicholas murmured to himself, quickly hiding when he saw Shabila and Bryan arriving. Before Devin's wedding ceremony, his older brother had already arrived and headed straight for the bridal dressing room instead of sitting among the guests filling the seats.

Nicholas, who had intended to leave the venue to pick up Alesya, changed his mind. He sought a hidden spot to eavesdrop on the conversation between Bryan and Devin.

Bryan's cautious demeanor raised significant questions in Nicholas's mind. Especially when he noticed Bryan holding an envelope.

"Everything is in here. You can check it first."

Without preamble, Bryan handed the envelope to Devin.

"Is this everything?" Devin peeked into the envelope that Bryan had handed him. His forehead furrowed as he saw the woman who had come with Bryan. It wasn't Alesya, which meant that the marriage between his ex-girlfriend and Bryan wasn't going as planned. No wonder Bryan had asked him to impregnate Alesya; what a cunning man.

After this, Devin intended to find out why and how there was a marriage between Alesya and Bryan.

"Of course. So, just go ahead and sign for the disbursement of the funds. I need to repay the loan tomorrow morning."

"Very well." Devin reached for the pen from Bryan. In his heart, Devin was still wondering why Bryan had free access to all of Alesya's assets, considering their marriage was just a charade.

Devin sighed deeply. When he signed, it meant he could hold Alesya's last asset. If only he could do this without having to marry the girl of his parents' choice, he would never have lost Alesya.

Yes, if only. Unfortunately, what allowed Devin to have it all was the generosity of his prospective in-laws because he was willing to marry their daughter, who had harbored feelings for him for a long time.

"Congratulations on starting your new life."

"If I may ask, where is Alesya?" Devin held back the documents he had just signed.

"At home. But don't worry; I'm sure she'll come."

Devin frowned.

"The restaurant you entrusted for catering is my brother's. Alesya is now in a serious relationship with him. Well, not exactly. They are partners at work so that she can conceive soon. And if you still have intentions to help, I can arrange for you to spend the first night with her, not your wife," Bryan's voice trailed off at the end of the sentence.

Devin shook his head. He hadn't expected his brother-in-law to offer his wife to someone else. It only made Devin more curious about Bryan's motives. However, it no longer mattered because he now held Alesya's property deed in his hands.

Bryan, having finished his business with Devin, promptly left and joined the other guests to witness Devin and Silvi's wedding ceremony.

"Damn it!" Nicholas cursed. If only he had a position in the company, he could come and go from the office to find out everything his father had been up to.

He wanted to know. He wanted to save Alesya, but he was far too late. So late that Alesya had nothing left. What would Alesya do when she found out it was all over?
