CHAPTER 73

VALERIE'S POV

Darkness… so much darkness. There was hardly a difference between when I closed my eyes and when I opened it, except from the low light coming from the dashboard. The car's lights were turned off surprisingly.

My breathing was rapid and heavy, my heart tumbling far too quickly and my mind still in dazed confused as to why I was still very much alive. The pain in my thighs resurfacing again makes me flinch. I also had new small wounds around my body as a result of the shards of glass that flew everywhere.

Richard who was beside me was unmoving, I couldn't really tell if he was still alive though. I drew closer to him and picked up one of his hands and pressed my fingers against his wrist to check his pulse. I sighed in relief, he was still breathing… I knew despite what Richard was planning to do I'd still felt extremely guilty if I had to live knowing I had deliberately killed someone.
