Don't Touch My Woman 1

When Andrea called to agree to my offer, I was both excited and disappointed. 

Excited because I've got somebody to help me escape spending the rest of my life with Isabella and disappointed because I knew she was in for the money. 

Just when I thought she was different and would agree because she wants to help, not for the money. 

I expected too much from her. I know I did not tell her my reason for that but she agreed desperately. 

I spoke rudely to her when I called her a gold digger, but I couldn't help it. Her desperation for the money reminded me of my mother. 

I never intended to make any rules in the contract, but seeing she wanted the money, she might as well breach the contract and follow another guy for money. 

After my call with her, I informed my lawyer to get the contract papers ready. 

The night when I went to bed, the only thought in my mind was her being a gold digger like other women, like my mom.

I went to the office the next day and waited for her to arrive and sign the contract papers. 

Moments later, I heard a knock and assumed she might be the one. She came inside per my command and stood assessing me. 

I got tired of her watching me and had to let her know where she was. It wasn't easy seeing her as I noticed I had begun hating her. 

In my mind, she is nothing but a gold digger, who will jump at any opportunity to make money. 

  

When she greeted me, I told her off in a scornful voice and her next action showed she was annoyed. 

She made to leave but then, I reminded her of the money she wanted. Standing with her back facing me, she looked like she was contemplating and finally sat back. 

Once again, my ego wouldn't let me be as I taunted her again. She was trying very hard to keep calm. 

I heard her mumble but refused to tell me what she said when I asked. 

I gave her the contract and asked her to go through as I returned to my work. Shortly afterwards, I heard her shout and gazed at her. 

“These rules are just too much Mr. King. How do you expect me to not get close to any man while there are thousands of them in this world?” She complained. 

“ If you are to pretend to be my wife, you have to refrain from getting seen with any guy. You will be seen as a public figure once I announce you as my wife to the world.”

“But this is still too much. I have rules to bind me and you don't? That's not fair.”

“I’m paying the money here Miss Andrea, so you go by my rules.”

“And I’m also saving your ass.” She started back. 

I told her about announcing her to be my wife in the next two days during the CEO of the year awards. 

I also scheduled a meeting for us to get to know each other. 

The last straw of the rules was the one that stated she is to stay with me till the contract expires. 

I could tell she was now regretting her decision but both sides are benefitting. 

Shortly afterwards, her phone rang. She did not answer but went ahead to sign the contract right away. 

I reminded her of the program before telling her to leave. Deep within, I felt she was not a gold digger like I am assuming but might need the money for something really important. 

After she left, I got a call from my dad.I knew what he was going to talk about but I still went ahead to answer the call. 

“Derrik, you know the program is in two days right?”

“I do father. Is there a problem?”

“Everybody knows you will definitely win this year as well.”

“Don't make it sound like I paid money to win it. My hard work pays all the time.”

“I know, I know, I was just saying. Now to my point, I want you to introduce Isabella as your fiancee.”

I sighed as I heard what he said. I wasn't wrong after all,I knew what he was going to say. 

“I have already told you father, I will not marry Isabella. I have always worked my way up and will not use a dirty trick like that.”

“I know what is good for you!! I am your father!!”

He shouted angrily over the phone and I could tell his face must be all red by now. 

“Yes, you are my father but I will not let you decide what I do with my life.”

“You arrogant son of mine! You better listen to me or you are so d*ad!!” He really is angry now. 

“Have a good day dad.” I said as I ended the call and gave out a sigh of relief. This man is getting on my nerves. 

I left work to the club in the evening and had a few drinks before going back home. 

The old man was asleep by the time I got home and I was excited because I had no strength for arguments. 

I took my bath and slept thinking about my meeting with Andrea the next day.

~The meeting day~

I woke up earlier, got ready and went downstairs. Not so lucky enough, I met my father downstairs. 

“Good Morning, dad. ”

I greeted and went straight to the kitchen. 

“You don't have respect, young man,” He started ranting as he followed me into the kitchen. 

“We were talking about something and you did not care to continue when you came home.”

“You were asleep dad.” I said while making my breakfast. 

“ You should have woken me up for us to continue talking about it.”

I hurriedly ate my breakfast as he spoke. I needed to escape from him before he brought up the Issue again. 

“ I will talk to you after I come back from work, dad. Have a good day.” I took my bag on the couch and walked to my car. 

“I know you are trying to avoid this conversation! But we will still talk about it when you get back!!”

I really can't tell why this man keeps getting on my nerves. I ignored him and got into the car, driving to the Grace Restaurant where I had to meet Andrea.
