CHAPTER 005

Amaya walked slowly and quietly behind the mean looking lady. She didn't have a single smile on her somehow wrinkled face,and she walked with the gait of an angry man.

They kept walking and taking bends,until they arrived at another different building in the villa. This one was quite smaller compared to the mansion, but was far more luxurious. Everything screamed wealth and power.

The guards at the gate stood professionally and at alert, with their guns at the ready.

"Where was this mean looking woman taking her to?" Amaya wondered,but kept following like a lamb being led to be slaughtered.

"You better walk faster if you don't want to be the scapegoat this morning" the woman's cold voice rang out.

Amaya immediately quickened her pace,and was almost running after her. After a few more minutes of turning and taking the next bend, they arrived in front of a huge metallic gold door.

The lady knocked and a guy who looked like one of the bodyguards at the gate came out.

"The Don asked me to bring her" the woman said.

The guard looked Amaya up and down, as if trying to undress her with just his eyes, before opening the door wider.

The lady gestured for Amaya to go in first,and she did so under the uncomfortable gaze of the guard.

"I see you brought some fresh meat,huh?" the guard said to the lady,while licking his lips.

"You should keep your eyes off her, if you don't want them out of their sockets" the mean faced lady warned the guard sternly,before walking past him.

The guard was taken aback by the lady's harshness, but didn't dare say a word.

She was Lady Esme, the Don's personal cook and his eldest and longest worker. She made rules for the workers to follow and no one dared oppose her. Opposing her meant opposing the Don,and the outcome was always something not to be experienced.

They entered the luxurious suite like place,and Amaya couldn't help but admire it's beauty. She had thought the exteriors of the place was wow, but this sight before her almost made her breathless. Even her father's mansion didn't measure up to this.

She was still admiring the place when she heard Lady Esme's voice.

"Good morning sir" Esme greeted.

Amaya turned to see the face of the one person she had come to loath so much. Standing there in an expensive red bathrobe was the Don, looking like the devil he was and staring intently at her.

Amaya's fist folded and she looked him right back in the eyes. How she hated this man standing before her, and looking at her like a hawk watching it's prey.

"You should keep those eyes of yours off my face if you still want to live and not end up like your good for nothing parents" the Don said with venom.

He had seen the murderous look in her eyes and that had thrown him off balance. He thought she would recoil back at the sight of him. But she stood there defiantly, looking straight back into his eyes.

Amaya lowered her gaze,but her fists remained folded at her sides. She hates this bastard so much,and if she had the chance right now,she'd plunge a knife into his heart.

"That's if he had a heart" Amaya's subconscious mind said,and she smiled secretly.

"Why is she looking this haggard and dirty?" Juan asked, referring to Amaya.

"You said I should bring her immediately and I thought you needed her right away. I'm so sorry boss". Esme replied with a slight bow.

"Take her away right now. The bitch disgusts me" Juan said with a frown.

"Should I bring her here later today?" Esme asked.

"Yes, but make sure she looks presentable. I don't want a sight that'll ruin my mood". he replied with an eye roll,before turning his back to them.

"Let's get going" Esme ordered, walking out the door.

Amaya took one last look at Juan's back before turning around and following Esme.

Getting back to the corridor of Amaya's room, Esme turned to her with blazing eyes. Amaya moved back unconsciously.

"You might want to learn some manners young lady" Esme said coldly.

"I don't understand. I haven't done anything wrong" Amaya defended.

"You think it's respectful for you to look the Don in the eyes, talk more of glaring at him?" Esme asked,taking steps towards Amaya who instinctively moved back.

Esme stopped moving and just looked at Amaya.

"This is the last time I'll warn you, and this is the last time you'll ever go free" Esme said. And with one last glare,she walked away, her heels clicking the tiles.

Amaya watched Esme's retreating figure and let out a long sigh. "This woman acts like a witch" Amaya said with her hand on her chest.

She turned to knock on the door,but met face to face with Sophia. Amaya let out a startled cry, falling on her butt and Sophia burst out laughing.

"What is wrong with you Sophia? Are you planning to make me have a heart attack?" Amaya asked with shaky breaths.

"Why were you scared? You were a furious flame a while ago" Sophia said laughing.

"I wasn't scared. You were too close for comfort" Amaya said,still on the floor.

"You weren't scared and you're on the bare floor? You even shrieked like a scared mouse. How brave you are" Sophia said, laughing the more.

Amaya got up and arranged her dress. Just as she was about replying Sophia,they both spotted Esme coming towards them.

Their hearts sank as Esme got closer and Amaya wished the earth would just open and swallow her up.

"Go get yourself cleaned" Esme said to Amaya, throwing a red fabric at her face.

" And make sure you eat good food. You're warming the Don's bed tonight"........
