Natatawa na lamang si Max sa dalawa.
“She’s cool,” lumapit sa kanya si Elise.
“Yeah, she makes him laugh.”
“You knew her?”
“Just an acquaintance, I knew his ex-boyfriend. Why all the questions Elise?” tanong ni Max with a mischievous smile.
“Nothing! I’m just curious, they looked good together. Do you honestly believe na wala talagang namamagitan sa kanila?” curious na saad ni Elise. She was itching to know because if this girl was the one who could break Marsden’s wall then she wanted to make sure she was worth it.
Max thought of the picture and mysteriously said. “I don’t know but it’s for them to find out and for us to wait patiently dear,” sabay tapik sa pisngi ni Elise at tuluyan ng umalis para magpahinga sa sarili niyang kwarto…he was also travel weary. Max knew Trisha had already cracked the outer shell Marsden had built to protect himself from the hurt again. Hopefully though he is not mistaken in his assessment of her character.

She didn’t want to admit but she actually missed this kind of place, this kind of life na walang ibang iniisip kundi ang mag-enjoy kasama ang pamilya. She enjoyed every moment of it. But reality always strike her and insisted that those moments could never be repeated dahil ngayon hindi na siya mayaman at wala na rin ang parents niya. These moments with Marsden, with all the luxuries a rich man can offer are all fleeting times time. It is so good sometimes to feel the relaxation, without worries, free from work, free from heartbreaks and she wanted to enjoy the most of it.
“Oh my!
Well, reliable rin naman ang judgment ng kaibigan in terms of fashion dahil nagtatrabaho ito sa isang fashion company but she really can’t wear it. Palagi siyang sinasabihan ng kaibigan that her body was made for sin at ayaw niyang ito ang maging impression ng mga kaibigan ni Marsden.
She breathe and took the navy blue bikini. “I don’t have any choice,” bulong niya sa sarili. “Oh my, kakahiya naman nito.”
She took a deep breath, lumabas ng CR at kinuha ang cover up minidress sa kanyang bag. V-neck ito at beige ang color. Pagkatapos itali ang buhok in a loose ponytail, naglagay siya ng sun screen all over her body and wore the dress.
Nakasuot ito ng puting tshirt showing the wide span of his shoulders and the hardness of his chest. His lean and very masculine. Nagtataka si Trisha dahil sa mga nagdaang araw masyado niyang napapansin ang manly factors ni Marsden which she always tried to suppress. Siguro masyado lang kaming nagiging close, that’s why. Nasabi niya sa sarili.
“Hey!” bati niya dito.
Marsden cleared his throat after a while. “Hi! Ready?”
“Yup! Teka lang.” Dali-dali niyang kinuha ang sling bag. She was blushing at napakabilis din ng tibok ng kanyang puso especially nang makita niyang napatitig ito sa kanya kanina. As if he was momentarily stunned by her beauty. Ridiculous! Trisha silently laughed at herself.
These passed days everytime he saw her, all he wanted to do was to kiss her lips and feel those curves that called him to sin. Nagtatalo ang kanyang katawan at isipan dahil alam niyang mali. Hindi si Trisha ‘yong tipo ng babaeng for dating and playing only. She was the kind of woman who is worth marrying but Marsden is the kind of man who avoided women like her. For him, she is one of the best friends a lucky man can have at ayaw niyang masira ang pagkakaibigan nila dahil lang sa tawag ng kanyang katawan so he resolved to suppress the urge.
Ngunit nang buksan nito ang pinto and discreetly checked him out. God! He wanted to pushed her inside and show her how much it affected him. Pero bago pa man niya gawin ang nasa isip, his rational thought ruled so he cleared his constricting throat and calmed himself.
This is bad! Nasabi ni Marsden sa sarili. He like the way they are right now. Magkaibigan sila at komportable sa isat-isa.
“So, are you enjoying somehow?” tanong niya dito nang buksan ang pinto sa entrance.
“Siyempre naman, you’re friends are nice,” anitong nakangiti.
“Easy man,” reklamo nito. “Wow Trish, you’re so–pretty!” saad nito.
“I’m going to show you the best place to enjoy swimming,” aniya kay Trisha.
Lumapit si Trisha sa railings and enjoyed the strong wind. It felt so good at pinapasalamatan niya si Marsden sa pag-aasikaso sa kanya.
Ipinikit niya ang mga mata. “Aawit na ba ako ng My Heart Will Go On?,” natatawa niyang turan.
They were laughing when she saw Rheanne who looked so beautiful in a black and white butterfly maxi dress and the cute Myrtelle wearing bikini and a white cover up watching them.
“Com’on let’s enjoy the beach,” paanyaya nito sa kanya.
Trisha also felt the enjoyment nang makitang masayang naghahabulan sina Max at Myrtelle kaya naman agad niyang hinubad ang kanyang cover up over her head exposing her sexy bikini at tinapon sa buhangin kung nasaan ang T-shirt ni Marsden. She was so embarassed nang marealized na napatingin sa kanya sina Dave, Max and even Suzette and Elise when she took off her dress kaya naman agad siyang nagtago sa tubig. Ang mas nakakahiya pa ay ang naisip niyang magiging reaksyon ni Marsden but as she looked at him before she ran off, he haven’t even looked at her and it somehow hurt her a little and the most embarassing part was she wanted him to appreciate her sexy look.
“Kailangan ko bang magpatalo El, just say the word,” sabay kindat niya dito.
“Oh I like you sister,” nakangiting saad nito sabay yakap sa braso niya.
Natawa silang tatlo habang ang mga lalaki naman ay nakita nilang naglalaro ng habulan sa tubig samantalang sina Myrtelle at Rheanne naman ay nagsa-sun bathing at nag-uusap na nakahiga sa dalampasigan with their shades on.
“So how did you met Mars?” tanong sa kanya ni Suzette.
“Magkapitbahay kami in our elementary days. We’re actually friends back then but we just saw each other again last month. Well, after seventeen years of not knowing if we’re still alive,” pabiro niya.
“Wow! So it’s like fate had brought you back together,” saad ni Elise excitingly.
But if fate had a hand in putting them together what other surprises it has in store for them both?
“Well, I for once never believed in fate. We made our own choices in life. Every decision has its own consequence,” seryosong saad ni Suzette.
“Yes! But they met without making a choice. They we’re both so far apart then suddenly met. How can you explain that?” Elise arguably said to Suzette.
Trisha splashed water rapidly in Marsden’s face.
“Sabihin mo akala mo pating noh?” panunukso nito.
“Hindi ah! Dito may pating?Posh!
She can feel his laughter in her chest and lightly punched his shoulder to cover up the sensation.
“You’ll gonna pay for it,” she playfully said to Marsden. Lumapit siya kina Elise and whispered. “So, how will I make him pay?”
“So Trisha, you’re an Accountant?” tanong ni Rheanne. She talked to everyone but her. “I’m a Junior Accountant at Lucian Group,” nakangiting sagot niya dito. Nakita niya ang slight grin nito, warning her to be cautious with her before the attack. “So you were just an accounting staff?” saad nito at ngumiti kay Myrtelle when she silently laughed at the insult. “Rhey!” saway ni Suzette. “I am an accounting staff.” Trisha proudly said. “I am actually proud to be one. You see, we
Siyempre maliban kina Rheanne at Myrtelle. “Good morning! “Good morning!” bulong nito sa kanya while grinning. “Don’t worry, kakagising lang din namin.” He poured a hot coffee sa cup niya at nagpat
“Oy beshie bakit reregaluhan mo ako?” excited nitong tanong. “Bakit naman kita bibigyan, ano ako mayaman?” pag-iinis niya. “Umalis ka nga sa harapan ko. Bruhang to paasa.” Tumawa si Abby. “Hindi seryoso talaga, ano bang gusto mong mataggap bukas?” “’Yong boylet mong kasama noong sabado sa mall pwede?” “Sira! Pinsan ko ‘yon. He’s a Noli Me Tangere sis. Touch Me Not, okay?”
“Sayang naman, we’re looking forward to meet him. Oy! May kaibigan nga itong artista, negosyante, artist, heiress at model
She wanted to thank him personally and perhaps to say sorry for the ultimatum. They might not see each other again but atleast they separated in a good way. “He knew me, baka pwedeng itawag mo muna?”
“Miss you too dearest!” aniya.
“Mars?!” Hindi siya makapaniwalang ito ang kumakatok. Pero hindi siya maaring magkamali. Boses ito ng kaibigan. “Are you okay?” nag-aalala nitong tanong at itinigil na ang pagkatok. She took refuge in his embrace. He hugged her tight and slowly caressed her back and head for comfort. “Everything is fine…the
Mag-isa siyang kumakain, natutulog at naglalaro.
After a while, she raised her head, blew her nose with her handkerchief and looked at him. He wiped a drop of tear upon her lip. “What happened?”“It’s because of me…it’s my fault, I killed an innocent child Mars.”“What are you talking about?”She retold Chelsea’s accusations and it angered him.“Nothing happened that night, I just let him kiss me to show him I don’t feel anything anymore, to have a closure, for him to leave me alone.”“Hey, hey, listen to me,” gently palming her cheeks with both hands. “It’s not your fault, it was an accident.”“I know, yet I’m so afraid…what if karma befell me. I know I shouldn’t because God won’t be that cruel pero kasalanan pa rin ‘yun. She lost her child because of me, because I let Ash kissed me that night. I have the choice to stop it but I didn’t–““And what are you afraid of? That someday it will also happen to you?” Napansin niyang natigilan ito. “We all have our sins Trish and what you think you’ve done is not even your fault at all.
It’s been a week since Trisha heard Chelsea’s reason for hating her and no matter how much she tried to be optimistic and stop herself from feeling guilty, she can’t. Because she was there, and Ash did kissed her and she let him, to show him that she’s not affected anymore, there’s no spark, that things have changed for months of being apart after she transferred to a public school. And also to close their relationship properly, to say goodbye, so Ash would stop those childish acts that forced her to come to him. Chloe was in Davao with her boss and Marsden was in Bacolod to close a big deal. She missed him so badly especially now that she’s feeling down. They talked over the phone yet being together physically is different. She can’t eat properly, she can’t even sleep for fearing of the nightmare that came to her that night after she and Chelsea talked. She woke up crying, feeling the pain of losing someone, her heart cried and ache for someone. Her baby, her own baby. Most
Weeks passed and Marsden and Trisha enjoyed every moment spent with each other. They read books together, do joggings together at the park Marsden usually do joggings. Marsden stayed with her in her apartment, together they went to the office and when Marsden needed to extend his time at work, he always asked Gareth, one of his trusted employees to drive her home using Marsden’s car.Trisha knew her friends noticed the change in their relationship but she always denies it. They both agreed to keep it secret and asked Chloe and Rudy to do the same. In the eyes of the others who knew them both they were just friends. Everyday, waking up with Marsden was like livin
When Trisha woke up the next morning, she felt like someone who had finally woken up from sleeping for years. She just lay there and closed her eyes again to thanks God for this another day. Last night she thought it would be her last or if not, Arnel would definitely left her devastated and surely ruined. She wanted to cry again, not of fear this time but thankful and relieved to have her guardian angels. “Marsden,” she whispered as his face appeared on her consciousness. She can’t stop the blush traveling over her face as she remembered something else that happened last night. Naitakip niya ang mga palad sa mukha as the events played before her eyes. Feeling giddy for the words he’d uttered and guilty, definitely guilty for sleeping on him. When finally she decided to clean up and went down to the kitchen, her stomach growled with the delicious smell coming from there. Trisha thought him gone but she heard his voice singing along with the music on his phone. Nakita niyang b
Jade was calling Arnel for the hundredth time but it’s always out of coverage. She was anxious to know what happened and even excited to hear her enemy’s downfall. A sly grin slowly appeared over her face. Finally, if Trisha get devastated and change her positivity, Jade’s beloved Ash wouldn’t like the bitch anymore, and she will have him for good. Finally! Finally! But the bastard Arnel can’t be reached and it’s disturbing her nerves. She was about to leave and go to the bar where Arnel wasn’t banned when someone knocked on her bedroom door repeatedly. Her dad is in congress and her mom visited her friends. Who could it be? “I’m coming, I’m coming,” aniyang naiinis at padabog na binuksan ang pinto. “A-Ash!” Jade was a little bit shocked to see him and a sudden burst of anxiety dwells in her rapidly beating heart. What if Ash realized what she’d done? But he looked calm, maybe he is here to ask her out. She pasted her sweetest smile. “Hey, come in.” She led him to her sof
“We should terminate the contract to avoid being caught up with his illegal deeds,” Marsden said in anger. “But sir–“ “Your department is the one whose responsibility is to check the credibility of the people we get into contract with. How come, that this problem is here now taunting our patience.” He looked at their eyes one by one. “Don’t make me caught you receiving commissions from our clientele just for their papers to pass the screening.” They just looked down and received his scolding. This is a serious matter. These men are in the company even when his grandfather was still the chairman. He trusted their loyalties but someone is surely having his loyalty bought. Worriedly, he excused himself at pumunta sa kanyang opisina. He saw Drew outside of his office. He was angry and worried while Drew re
“Mag-oovertime ako ngayon, I have a deadline which I think, is impossible to meet.” “I already explained it to her, pero hindi siya nakikinig and after the meeting she just left. To start, Chelsea was having an indefinite leave. Unfortunately, as Chelsea is leaving, the staff are required to finish monthly reports this week and other necesarry reports for their new boss. Trisha handles four large branches and it’s defin
“God! She’s killing me!” Marsden whispered to himself when he got inside his car. It’s getting harder to control himself around her. He wanted to give in, he wanted to feel her, embraced her, wrapped himself with her heat. But his mind, the one who keeps on reminding him of his promise not to let his heart rule again over his head, waking him like a drench of cold water. He snorted with the thought that she wanted to learn flirting. She’s already a killer and he’s not sure if he can survive the next time. He tried to keep it cool, everytime this crazy attraction pulls him like a magnet and every day gets harder and harder to resist. Tomorrow, he should tell Trisha to stop what she feels because he doesn’t feel the same, such a big lie. He should stop this and if being far from her is the only solution then he had no other choice.
Days passed and Trisha and Marsden renewed their friendship. Eating together at breakfast and sometimes at dinner. But one thing that change is that he never sleepover anymore. Even when the rain never stop pouring, he always had reasons to go. Sometimes it makes Trisha laugh to think he was afraid that she would lose into temptation and ravish him at night. But then, reality also makes her sad that even though their friendship was returned, he was still careful and maybe just trying to spare her feelings…he might not have directly told her to stop but she felt how much he avoided her failed flirtations. It was not easy really, because Trisha don’t know how to flirt. With her previous relationships, she wasn’t actually into flirting, was not motivated or doesn’t have the chance or maybe theirs were different with how she felt with Marsden. However, she is quiet enjoying it. Everytime he looked at her in a way that to
