Chapter Seventy-Nine

When I stretched my arm in search of skin, only cool cotton sheets were at my fingertips. Mack had disappeared from the room, and although I was thankful he was cautious about being caught, I craved the warmth and companionship of his body. 

Both Cody and Mindy had emerged from their bedroom by the time I’d gotten ready for the day. I’d decided to wear the bikini with jean shorts, then would change into a more sophisticated outfit before the dinner party began. 

“Have a nice night?” I murmured to a glowing Mindy. She was dressed for a day at the lake in her bathing suit, too.

She smirked and wiggled her eyebrows, throwing her bag over her shoulder. “We were both really tired and wanted to get to bed.”

“I bet.”
