The Girl that stood out

Freya’s body locked up and her cry of shock barely made it out of her throat. He wouldn’t die, she reminded herself as the mother giant forced her face towards her, determined to feed her her breast. She had found herself a pretty good camouflage but she simply refused to take Giant-breast milk. She had no more weapon on her of course and was ready to spring out of her swaddles and blow her cover when the mother-giant paused and all of the giants grew silent. Freya looked to find Adrian in the middle of the fire, his legs folded under him as the fires raged.

He wasn’t burning. Intrigued, the giants hurried forward and stared and the mother giant suddenly burst into applause, followed by many others. They thrilled and grinned excitedly, testing the fire and snatching their fingers away when it burned and in the middle of it all, Adrian didn’t move a muscle.

“Fucking show off.” She muttered, helluva intrigued herself.

A few moments later, Adrian climbed out of the fire and the giants
