Sixty nine: Optimistic

I watched as the emergency nurses pushed Erin, mom and my driver's stretcher towards the emergency room. I couldn't cry anymore, because I was in a state of shock. I had only ever seen people get this injured in movies, and wouldn't have ever thought that it would happen to people I knew. 

The blood which was dripping from Erin's head didn't seem like it was going to stop. They were all unconscious, but I had a great feeling that Erin might not survive this. Mom and my driver weren't bleeding this much. They didn't look so injured like her. 

As soon as they shut the door of the emergency room, I froze in my tracks. If anything had to happen to these people, I wouldn't be able to live a good life. I would be in grief for the rest of my life. Only about an hour ago, I had seen them. Mom had been smiling, Erin had been crying. Only if I had known, I wouldn't have let them go in my car.
