“Goddess”, Richard whispered as he blinked off the tears that threatened to pour out of his eyes.

Emily slowly lifted her head to meet his, and the moment it did, a wide smile spread across her face.

“Richard!” She screamed and made to stand up, but the chains on her legs restricted her.

“I kept praying that you would find me! I knew you would. Please get me out of here, Barbara wants to hurt me and our child”, Emily said hurriedly, with her eyes burning in excitement.

Even though she was in pains, she found them all vanishing the moment she set her eyes on Richard.

“I’m sorry”, Richard mouthed and shifted his gaze to the window.

He didn’t want Emily to see his tears because that would only make things worse.

“I know! It’s fine. None of this your fault”, Emily countered and gestured for him to set her loose.

“Richard, we need to get something like a pin. It should be able to break me free from these chains”, Emily informed Richard, who remained glued to the spot.

He took slow strides
