Chapter 151

Barbara succeeded in tarnishing Emily’s image and reputation.

All she did at the discussion program was talk about how violent her maid was, and how her wrists got slashed because of how soft and slow she was towards punishing her.

Emily couldn’t react. She only blinked away the tears that welled up in her eyes. That was the only thing she could do; cry and wish that she had a better option for life.

She couldn’t decipher Barbara’s gain in what she had just done. And somehow, she swore to teach her a lesson as well.

A knock on her door got her startled and with a trembling foot, she sauntered towards the door.

Her instincts were correct.

Richard stood by the door, with a bunch of flowers on his hand and a gift package on the other. He wore a wide smile that had different emotions dancing in it.

“You shouldn’t be here. Your wife has done extreme harm to me and since you can never have my back, you should stay away”, Emily stuttered and made to close the door.
