Chapter 135

Emily was walking out of the kitchen when she met Richard driving into the house.

She rushed outside, with a wide smile on her face.

All through the day, she had waited to see him because she was eager to know what Barbara had said to him yesterday.

However, she didn’t meet him all through, and he didn’t call or check on her.

Richard stayed still inside his car, watching how elated Emily was to see him. For a moment, he wondered if she were someone he could trust.

That was a doubt that laid at the biggest part of his heart and to avoid hurting her, he buried it there.

“Hey Richard!” Emily called out the moment he stepped out of the car.

She rushed towards him and pulled him into a warm hug.

“I missed you and waited all through yesterday. Is everything okay?” Emily asked when she caught a cold glint in his eyes.

Richard nodded his head in affirmation and started making his way into the house, with Emily trailing behind him.
