CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED FORTY - WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES
Tory POV
I was looking at Adam’s side profile while he was maneuvering the car on the road and could not help feeling confused.
Seated in the comfort of his car, it only just dawned on me how he snatched me away in plain view of everyone, more importantly, Tony.
Tony’s panic-stricken look came to my mind, and a sense of satisfaction overtook me when I saw him chasing after us.
In some perverse part of my brain, I took great pleasure seeing the panic registered in Tony's eyes and felt vindicated.
But when I realized the trouble this would bring later, I was having second thoughts.
True, I wanted to get away from Tony’s oppressing presence. Adam proved an effective deterrent since he knew how to outmaneuver his friend, but I did not want to cause discord between them. They have been best friends since
