Cassy POV
“Adam, where have you been? I have been trying to call you, but your phone’s off.”
“Sorry, something came up.”
There was an odd inflection in his tone that made me nervous.
“Did something happen? Tory? Where is she?”
Adam sighed. “I think I overdid it. Tory is in the hospital. She might lose the baby.” I heard him groan and felt scared.
Adam was never like this. He was my bulwark, my strength. But now, I could feel like he was feeling lost.
