Rage boiled in me at the sight I met him. I wanted to scream. My mouth was open, but no sound escaped my lips. "No." Those were the only words I could mutter. I didn't want to believe what I was seeing. I must have taken excess wine and that was why I was seeing things. "Louis?" I called in a trembling voice as he stopped moaning, turning to stare at me, his eyes held no remorse but rage as he pulled out of the lady beneath him. I raised my hands to my face, rubbing my eyes as the gifts dropped from my hands. "What are you doing here Fia?" His voice was laced with venom. "I told you to wait at the reception. If you had just listened, you wouldn't have had to see this." He didn't even bother to hide his erection as he hissed, wearing his underpants. Was that how little he thought of me? How could his manhood still be aroused? My gaze went to the lady on the bed. It was my sister. "Ary, how could you?" I whispered, still rooted to the spot. I wanted to wake up from this dream, this wasn't happening. The excitement of today being my vow renewal disappeared and was replaced with anger and spite. How could they be doing this, with the guests still present? It wasn't yet thirty minutes before we renewed our vows, "For better or worse, To be faithful to the end." Was this it? My body was consumed with heat at the immoral sight before me as I felt the bile rise in my throat, I was going to throw up. I barely made it to the toilet as the contents of my stomach came rushing up. The ivory floral gown I had carefully selected for Ary because of the occasion was thrown on the floor, in her bid to give her body to my husband. "Fia, you are interrupting us, please leave." Ary was sitting up now and had no shame in her eyes as she spoke to me. I turned to Louis, who was now sitting by the vanity. "I want a divorce." He suddenly said, his words took me back as I stared at him gobsmacked. "A divorce?" I asked, waiting for confirmation. Was this a joke? Maybe I didn't hear clearly. "A divorce? Just after our renewal? How long have you been planning this?" I managed to ask. "The prenup, this is why you forced me into it." But he didn't say a word and looked away. I couldn't hold the tears as they fell freely. I wanted to lash out, make them feel even a fraction of the pain tearing me apart, but I couldn't, it seemed he now had the upper hand. He knew how much I detested divorce. I couldn't tell how long he had been smashing my sister, was he just waiting for me to find out? Not knowing how to present the issue to me? I walked to him calmly, my knees going to the floor as I held him, staring at those eyes that captured my heart. "Please don't make any rash decisions. After the reception, we can sort this out. I pleaded, hating the desperation in my voice, but I couldn't do anything. I didn't want the guests to suspect that something was wrong. "I was thinking of the best way to tell you, I didn't want you to find out this way." I gave a nod as he spoke, it was just a mistake, and we were going to sort it out. "I love Ary, and since you've found out this way, I have no option than divorcing you and going for her. Please be happy for us." He begged, holding my hands in his. He didn't care about me, just himself and his reputation. "We are married, Louis. If you loved her, why did you marry me in the first place?" I was already losing my cool. Ary didn't say a word but just watched us like the manipulative queen she was. I batted my eyelids, waiting for a response. "Sign this." He handed me the divorce papers he had already prepared. He was being real. I stared with shaky hands, my eyes not leaving his face m "You'll be leaving the country this evening. My lawyer in Australia will hand the Stark Industry to you, use it and start a new life." "Don't do this," I whispered, pushing the tears back. "Please," I begged. "Can't you see Fia, many factors are stopping us. I need a child, and we both know you don't have a womb. You are barren." He said, his tone harsh and mocking as Ary giggled behind us. I have forgotten she was there. I took in quick breaths, calming myself down. I was shocked, the same man who claimed he loved me was using my predicament against me. "But why her? Why my sister?" I yelled, frustration eating me out. "I've always loved your sister, and also you are not a biological daughter to Mr Denzel, so you also won't have any inheritance when the will is read. Our companies can't be partners." I took some steps backward, not wanting to believe anything. "Is this some sick joke? How am I not a biological daughter?" I turned to Ary, trying to find the truth from her. "You see, with you, it's a waste. No womb, no inheritance." He spat. "Ary, what is Louis talking about? What is going on?" But she just stared at me with a look of disgust on her face. "Ary talk to me," I yelled this time. Wanting her to say it was a lie. Wanting her to sing out her usual, ‘’it is a prank.” But her response shattered me. "You're a fool Fia, haven't you wondered why you are always treated differently? Father only loved you out of guilt and now he is dead." "He killed your parents when you were younger, burnt them." She spat, as the world whirled around me. "No," I didn't believe her as I stormed out to confront my mum. I got to the entrance of the ballroom heaving in anger, the divorce paper still in my hands. I spotted her, sitting like she had been expecting me. Before I could say a word, she nodded. "Whatever you heard is the truth, you can do your worst." I smiled sadly and muttered. "Fine, I would." Louis was contesting for the position of governor, and I was going to make him regret having a vow renewal when he was in a sneaky relationship with my sister. If I went down, they all would go down with me. I took a deep breath, as I walked towards the priest, taking the mic from him. I was going to end this now. I lost my womb when I took a bullet for the ungrateful Louis and now, this is how he repays me. Turning to Mum, the look on her face confirmed what Ary said. She had never loved me because I wasn't her child. I didn't see it then, but now I do. "I have a small announcement to make." The room fell quiet as eyes were fixed on me. "Thank you for attending our renewal ceremony, but Louis and I are getting a divorce." Gasps rippled through the guests. "I'm sorry if we must have wasted your time here, but I just caught him in bed with my sister, and I was handed the divorce papers" I added, not thinking straight, laughing dryly and, as if on cue, the flashing of the camera lights filled the room. I smiled at the reactions I was getting. "How could you?" Mother spoke as she hit me across the face. The guests gasped again. I was bleeding this time. "You knew about their affair, you're a bad mother." I scoffed, turning away. Flipping my hair and posing for the camera. Giving my nicest smile. "Don't believe a word from her, she's mentally unstable," Ary cried from behind, running forward as I showed the divorce papers Louis had given me. They had underestimated me once more. "This is the evidence," I said, grabbing a pen from the priest and signing it. "Here, I won't let you tarnish my image again," I announced. This was a scandal and I loved it. "Fia Denzel is no longer part of the Denzel family because of this act," Mama announced as she had always treated me like I was part of them. "No." I suddenly found myself saying. "I might not be part of the family, but I'm still the sole heir of Denzel's wealth, and I'm going nowhere," Dad told me. "What's she saying? I thought she wasn't a biological child?" "Has the will been read already?" Different questions filled the hall as the guests murmured. I turned to look at my family, who had a look of shock on their faces. To show I had the upper hand, I announced. "Whoever steps out to marry me, would be given 50 million dollars right now," that alone sent the guests into an uproar. "She's bluffing, no man would get married to their fellow man," Ary mocked, indicating I didn't have a womb. I stared at the girl I had known all my life. I was on the verge of breaking down when a powerful voice suddenly spoke behind me. "I will." I swirled around to see who it was and was immediately captivated by his perfect blue eyes and messy black hair. I couldn't react before he grabbed my hands. And speaking out loud he said. "Marry me, Fia Denzel." Before I could process it, Louis yelled. “Barret, she's my wife." Did they know themselves? “No, Ex-wife.” He corrected it and with that statement, he turned to the priest. "Join us."~FIA~ Just like that, I broke up with my husband and was remarried. "Thank you for not letting me get embarrassed in such a way," I said to my new husband, shifting uncomfortably under his gaze. Everything was happening so fast. "Sign this." Mr Barrett said in a low voice. "A marriage license and a contract?" I whispered, staring at the papers before me. "Why should I sign this?" "You're now my wife and also a debtor," he said with a straight face, making me shift in my seat. "But we didn't mean it, I mean, I thought you stood up to save me from the embarrassment." I hurriedly said, confusion hitting me as he scoffed. "Look, we aren't friends. I don't know you, so why would I try to save you from embarrassment?" "I did it because of the money involved and because I wanted a wife," he said, as my eyes widened in shock. "How do you expect me to have such an amount? I was clearly bluffing," I stated, removing my gaze from him as I stared out the window. "I wou

I blinked my eyes, maybe I was yet to adjust to the room, but his arm stirred, making me freeze. A tattooed wrist slipped into view. I gulped. I was in a strangers bed. No, I wasn't ready to face him. I knew it would take minutes for him to wake up, so I slid out from under his arms.
