The night wind blew strongly, carrying the scent of death from Marie's steaming pile of ashes.
Simon Oberon stood at the edge of the field, his eyes blank with vengeance. "Hunt him down," he whispered to the two soldiers standing next to him. "Find his daughter. There is no place on earth large enough for him to hide from me."
Simon's two men immediately carried out their superior's orders. They ransacked the houses of all the villagers and set Marie's house on fire so that she could not return to it.
They also continued their search to the edge of the forest. Both of them looked hesitant, but the two soldiers were forced to cancel their intention to return when they saw Simon and the others had already caught up and led them all into the forest.
"We must find the girl until we do. I will not let Marie Blaise's descendants live to pollute this world with their magic."
In the dark and winding forest, Grace, the aunt of the little girl, continued to run, her breath coming in short gasps.
Tree branches and twigs slammed into her face and body, but she didn't care. She had to get her niece, Elara, to safety.
They had travelled quite a distance, but she knew they weren't safe yet.
"We have to go faster," Grace said, holding Elara's hand tightly. "They must have picked up on our trail."
Elara, still wearing the necklace her mother had given her, walked beside Grace without complaint.
Her blue eyes shone faintly in the moonlight, as if radiating the strength hidden behind her tiny body.
"But where are we going, Aunty?" Elara asked in a low voice. "Everyone hates me. They all believe I'm the son of the devil."
Grace looked anxiously at her niece. "We'll go somewhere far away from here, Elara. Out in the country there are people who understand and do not fear your power. You are Blaise's descendant, and you must survive."
Elara bit her lip, unsure of what she should feel. However, she knew one thing, she had to survive.
Her mother had given her life for her, and she would not let that sacrifice go to waste.
Meanwhile, Simon led his small army through the darkness of the forest. The sound of twigs snapping under their horses' feet and the swish of the wind brought a thickening tension. Every step felt like a pull towards a deeper hell.
"Are you sure we'll find them here, Lord Oberon?" asked one of the soldiers in a trembling voice.
Simon only snorted. "The girl is the key to ending this curse. Her blood must be stopped. And, I know...," Simon paused, his eyes staring straight ahead, "I will feel it."
At the edge of the forest, they reached a hidden cave covered in dense foliage. Grace immediately pulled Elara inside.
Inside the cave, they met an old man with a white beard who wore a tattered robe, but his eyes were full of wisdom.
"You've come at the right time," he said in a low voice. "Simon will not stop until this girl is dead. But, there is a power within him that is stronger than he realises."
Grace took the old man's hand, "Help us, Wilhelm. We need protection. Elara... she's too young to face this."
Wilhelm looked at Elara with concern. "She must learn. Time is not on our side. Simon is getting closer, and his power is great. But, I have a plan."
Outside the cave, Simon's army was getting closer. Their shadows danced among the trees, illuminated by the moonlight. Simon dismounted, approaching a large rock not far from the cave.
He stopped, his eyes closed, sensing something. "I can feel her presence," he said softly.
Suddenly, from the direction of the cave came a rumbling sound. Wilhelm began to chant loudly, while inside the cave, the walls began to tremble.
Elara held her necklace tightly, feeling a strange chill creeping over her skin. The necklace glowed again, brighter this time. "What happened, Aunty?" she asked with unconcealed fear.
Grace hugged her tightly. "Believe in your strength, Elara. It's our only hope."
Suddenly, from behind the trees', Simon appeared, followed by his soldiers. His eyes glowed with hatred, and without hesitation he pointed his hand towards the cave. "I've found it," he said quietly but forcefully. "There's nowhere for you to hide anymore."
Wilhelm immediately stepped forward, raising his hand, creating a magical barrier between them and Simon. "You won't get in, Simon Oberon!" he shouted. However, Simon only smiled sarcastically.
"This little barrier won't stop me," he muttered. With one swift motion, he swung his hand and a beam of black energy shot out, striking Wilhelm's barrier with devastating force. The cave began to shake more violently, and the barrier began to crack.
Inside the cave, Elara felt her body grow heavy, her legs weak. The necklace around her neck glowed brighter and brighter, as if responding to the power coming from outside.
Grace looked anxiously at her niece, knowing that something big was about to happen.
"Elara," Grace whispered, "it's time. Only you can stop it."
Elara looked up at her aunt with eyes full of confusion. However, in her heart she knew what she had to do.
In a low voice, she began to chant the words she had learnt from her mother, ancient spells that had been passed down in their family for centuries.
Simon, who was outside the cave, was stunned when he heard Elara's voice. His eyes widened, and for the first time, fear appeared on his face. "No... no way!" he cried.
However, it was already too late. The blue light from Elara's necklace shot out, piercing through the broken barrier, hitting Simon with tremendous force. Simon's body was thrown backwards, hitting a tree hard.
In the cave, Elara fell limp, but she was still alive. The shaking cave began to calm down, and Wilhelm smiled with pride.
"You did it, Elara," he said softly. "You have begun your destiny."
Simon Oberon lay on the ground, his body convulsing from the impact of Elara's power. The sound of his heartbeat could be heard in his own ears, the rumble of his heavy breathing blending with the chilling night wind. He tried to get up, but the magical power was still clinging to his body as if locking his body and soul from rising again. With a vengeful gaze, Simon looked towards the cave. His lips trembled with pain, but in his soul, the hatred and intent to destroy Elara was burning."I... will not lose...," he muttered, his eyes narrowed with determination. "That little girl must die, not me! All of Blaise's descendants must be wiped off the face of this earth, I will make sure there is no more Blaise blood in the world!"Inside the cave, Wilhelm quickly approached Elara who looked weak after unleashing that great power. "Are you alright?" asked Wilhelm, his hand touching Elara's forehead to ensure that she was still conscious.Wilhelm's face looked worried, although he knew Ela
Simon Oberon stood in front of the cave ruins, his body still aching from the impact of Elara's magical energy. However, the hatred bubbling in his heart overcame that physical pain. In Simon Oberon's eyes, madness and vengeance were burning. His desire was burning and unstoppable. He did not even care if he had to use other dirty means to get his wish. He looked at the direction where the magical passage disappeared, his breath coming in short gasps, but his heart full of determination to annihilate the entire Blaise family members without a trace. "Call Tertius," Simon ordered his closest soldier in a hoarse voice. "We need all the strength we have to go after them. The girl must be stopped."The soldier looked down in fear before rushing to summon Tertius, the notoriously sadistic and cruel shadow mage. Simon knew that this was no longer an ordinary fight. This was a war between Blaise's bloodline and the darkness he had been building without anyone's knowledge for years."Ther
The mist grew thicker as Elara and Grace entered the old town of Silverthorne. Around them, ancient buildings made of massive stone looked as if they had witnessed thousands of years of history. Trees clung to their walls, gripping them like hands forgotten by time. The atmosphere felt cold and tense, while the mountain breeze rustled gently, carrying faint sounds from the past."This town...," Elara murmured in a trembling voice. "Why does it feel so lonely and full of sadness?"Grace turned her head, her gaze serious. "This is no ordinary place, Elara. Silverthorne was once the Blaise family's power centre. Many have fallen here-friends and foes alike. We walk upon an old battlefield, and the power that remains here has not been fully extinguished."Their footsteps were heavy. Elara could feel the strange energy of the ground beneath her feet, as if something was watching them, waiting. In the distance, lightning flashed across the sky, followed by a rumble that broke the silence.
The energy from the battle between Elara and Simon grew so intense that the sky above Silverthorne turned a dusky red.The thunderstorm began to flash uncontrollably, and every lightning bolt that hit the ground made the ruins of the city tremble, as if the old city was also feeling the tension that was overflowing between the two.The wind picked up speed and slowly became a tornado ready to sweep away anything in its path. Grace could only stare in dismay, realising that this clash was too strong even for her."Elara!" shouted Grace, trying to reach her niece who was at the centre of the energy vortex. "You must retreat! This city will be destroyed if you keep fighting!"However, Elara no longer heard anything. Her focus was completely centred on Simon, who was now smiling slyly despite the growing number of wounds on his body.Behind his cold face, Elara could feel Simon's fear, a fear that was hidden behind every word he said. They both knew this was a decisive battle."Are you r
"It is a tradition between mother and daughter in your family to give away their valuables. I think your mother would have wanted you to wear it from today."Raven looked down, although the memory of her mother had not fully returned, but Raven often heard from her aunt that her mother had left her when she was a child due to an accident. After saying thank you and goodbye, Raven stepped into the dormitory leaving behind Grace who drove away in her favourite car."Goodbye Elara." Grace whispered behind the wheel while looking at Raven who had disappeared behind the dormitory door before finally stepping on the accelerator of her car. Inside the silent dormitory building, Raven looked at the long corridor with many doors standing in a row. It was a new beginning, but her heart felt heavy. Raven wore the blue-eyed necklace that Grace had just given her-it felt so familiar, as if it had a power that she couldn't understand. As she stepped deeper, the lights in the hallway suddenly fl
Raven woke up with a scream stuck in her throat, her chest rising and falling with gasping breaths. The image of the man-with his cold, piercing blue eyes-was still vividly imprinted in her memory. Cold sweat poured down her forehead. Her head felt dizzy at once. Everything felt so real and scary to Raven. "Raven! Are you okay?" Meredith's voice startled her. Raven jumped on the bed, her heart beating even faster because of Meredith. After regaining her composure, Raven turned around to see her roommate standing next to her bed, looking at her with a worried face."I'm sorry, I... I just had a bad dream," Raven tried to smile, though she was still shaken.Meredith sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her with concern. "You just shouted the name 'Simon' in your sleep. Who is he?"Raven just shook her head. "I... I'm not even sure I know who he is," she replied honestly. "But... it feels, like someone is trying to remind me of something important."Raven's forehead furrowed in an a
The night was getting late when Raven finally fell asleep again. However, this time her dream felt more real. She found herself standing in a misty forest, among tall trees that looked like dark shadows in the moonlight. She heard a whispered voice calling her name, "Elara... Elara..." A subtle, but haunting voice, calling from a direction she could not determine. As Raven stepped further into the darkness, a flash of light from the pendant around her neck caught her attention. The blue light glowed faintly, as if radiating a strange power. Amidst panic and the urge to run, Raven kept moving forward, following the whisper.Behind the trees, Raven finally saw the figure of a man with his back facing her. The man's shoulders that stood straight, the grey hair that glistened in the moonlight-Raven knew who he was."Simon," she hissed softly. However, the man remained motionless. Raven wanted to get closer, but his image began to blur, blending into the fog. "Simon!" Raven shouted, runn
"Time for what?" asked Raven, trying to reach him."Time for you to remember who you really are," Simon replied, his eyes blazing with an intensity she'd never seen before. "And, when you're ready, I'll be back to take you home."With those words, Simon's image vanished, and Raven awoke with a heart full of fear, but also curiosity. All the questions that had been haunting her began to press for answers, and she knew that no matter what, Raven could no longer run from the truth of who she was. And, deep in her heart, Raven felt that night was the beginning of a journey into the darkness she had been avoiding. That night, after the anxiety continued to haunt her, Raven decided to take a walk on campus.Raven chose to walk alone even though Meredith offered to accompany her to spend the night. The blonde-haired girl walked outside, down the hallway around her room to the dormitory courtyard. Under the moonlight, her steps echoed in the deserted dormitory hallways. Suddenly, she felt l
The night breeze became more piercing as Raven, Jeremy, Lucas, and Meredith ran through the narrow alleys at the back of the campus.Their breathing was ragged, adrenaline still ruling their bodies. The police sirens sounded closer, but somehow, it didn't make them feel safe. Instead, there was a bad feeling hanging in the air."We can't stop here," Jeremy said, his eyes searching for a way out.Lucas nodded, his face tense. "If they know we have these documents, they won't stay quiet. We need to find a safe place first."Meredith looked back, trying to make sure no one was following them. "But where? They must have sealed off the whole place. We don't even know who to trust."Raven clenched her fists. "I know one place. But we have to hurry."Without waiting for an answer, Raven ran first, leading them through the narrow alleys until they finally reached an old, forgotten-looking building. It was an old theatre building that was no longer in use. The wooden door creaked as they pushe
Tension enveloped Raven, Jeremy, Lucas, and Meredith as they stood frozen inside the archive room. Their breath was held, pulse racing. In the doorway, Professor Lorry stared at them with a sharp expression, and behind her, a tall shadowy figure with fiery red eyes stood still, as if watching its prey."You guys are really giving me a hard time," Lorry's voice was low, almost a whisper, but full of menace. "I knew you'd find out sooner or later... but I didn't expect this soon."Jeremy braced himself, stepping slightly forward. "What are you hiding? What did you do to those students? And why are our names on that list?"Lorry grinned, but did not reply. The red-eyed shadow behind her moved, its body like a pulsating mist in the darkness. Instantly, a chill settled over the room, making their hair stand on end.Meredith bit her lip, her hand gripping Lucas's arm. "We need to get out of here. Right now."Lucas nodded, but their steps were halted when Lorry raised one hand. "No one's co
Raven, Jeremy, Lucas, and Meredith looked at each other with tense faces. The atmosphere of the canteen, which had been filled with the sound of noisy chatter, suddenly felt more pressing."We should see for ourselves," Jeremy said quickly, his eyes flashing with caution. Without waiting for a reply, he stood up and walked out.Lucas sighed. "I knew this would end badly..." he muttered, but followed anyway. They exited the canteen, joining the crowd gathered in front of the administration building. In the centre, a student was lying on the ground. His breathing was still ragged, but his face-oh God, his face was covered in scratches, deep and messy, like he'd been clawed by something with long, sharp claws.Meredith covered her mouth, almost screaming. "Who did this to her?!"Some students whispered in panic, while others seemed too scared to approach. A lecturer and a campus security officer tried to calm the situation. "Everyone stand back! Let us handle this!"Jeremy observed the s
"But it's high!" whispered Meredith frantically."Better to fall than die here!" Lucas hissed, sweat beading on his forehead.Raven didn't think twice. She ran straight to the window and smashed it with her elbow. The glass shattered, the night wind rushing in to hit them in the face.Below, the dark forest stretched out. They had no other choice.Jeremy climbed up first, then stuck out his hand. "Come on, I've got you!"Lucas helped Meredith up, then followed Raven who jumped up. They fell into the bushes, their bodies hitting the ground hard.Lucas, the last one out, almost made it, but the skinny hand grabbed his leg!The creature's eyes stared at him crazily, its jaws gaping wide with a crunching sound.
The sound of twigs breaking beneath their steps rang out loudly in the silent forest.Only the wind blew softly, occasionally shaking the leaves, creating eerie shadows around them.Meredith shivered. "I still think this is a bad idea..."Lucas walked beside her, looking back warily. "You're not the only one who thinks so."Jeremy, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped. He stared at the ground, his expression serious. "Look at this."Raven and the others approached him.In front of them, the wet ground looked messy, as if something had been dragged over it.Long scratch marks were visible on a nearby tree trunk, as if something was trying to climb up frantically.Lucas gulped. "Okay. This is definitely not the work of an ordinary animal."Raven crouched down, touching the scratch marks carefully. There was something strange. The scar on the tree looked black, like it was burnt, and when she touched it-Shit!Raven jumped in surprise. The scar felt hot."Something's strange..." Sh
Tension hung in the air like a thick fog. The entire dormitory was gathered in the courtyard, staring at the police line set up around the entrance to the back forest. Some of the campus security officers were talking to the police, while the students could only whisper, trying to digest what had just happened.Raven stood among them, feeling her heart beating erratically. The image of the horrible laughter she heard last night was still ringing in her head."I don't like this," Meredith muttered softly, standing beside her.Lucas looked at them with a tense expression. "You mean, the body that was found... has something to do with the voice we heard last night?""I don't know." Raven bit her lip. "But I have a bad feeling."Jeremy, who was standing a little further away, listened to their conversation in silence. His eyes were fixed on the police line, as if trying to see something invisible. Before long, a forensic officer came out of the forest with a stiff face. A senior policema
Crack...A sound like soft footsteps came from outside the room. Raven frowned. Probably just another student still wandering the hallways, she thought.But... Crack... Crak...The steps sounded again. Closer this time. Slower. More cautious. Raven's heart beat faster. Her eyes glanced at the closed bedroom door. A faint shadow appeared from under the crack of the door, moving slowly... stopping... then moving again. It was as if the figure was observing the room from the outside. Raven held her breath, feeling her hair stand on end. She glanced at Meredith, who was still fast asleep. What should she do? Should she wake Meredith up? Or should she keep quiet and pretend to be asleep? The shadow was still there. Motionless. As if waiting for something.Suddenly, the doorknob of their room rattled. Raven immediately got up from the bed and stared at the door with wide eyes. Her heart was beating so fast that she was afraid someone outside could hear it.The door was locked, but the
A few weeks after the festival, Raven and her friends would meet in the campus park every weekend. They liked to share stories, tell funny stories, and sometimes practice drama informally. Jeremy, who had now become a part of their group, often joined them as well, sitting casually with guitar in hand, playing light songs that created a cheerful atmosphere. One sunny afternoon, as they sat in a circle on the grass, Maya proposed an idea. "Why don't we have a picnic this weekend? It's been a while since we've had time to relax off campus."Raven was immediately enthusiastic. "Agreed! It'll be fun. We can bring food, play little games, and Jeremy can bring his guitar for entertainment!"Jeremy smiled, looked down a little embarrassed, but nodded in agreement. "Okay, I'll play a few songs. But if you guys promise not to laugh at me if I play badly."Raven chuckled. "Relax, we wouldn't have the heart for that."The night before the picnic, Raven and Meredith were busy preparing the food
After the celebratory party on stage was over, Raven and her friends invited Jeremy to join them for a small dinner at a café near campus."But, I'm not a member of your team, so I can't join you." Jeremy tried to refuse in a subtle way. "Tsk, just come along. After all, you've joined us many times. Don't act like you don't know us, Jim," cut in Meredith, who didn't like the sound of Jeremy's words. "Yes, Jim, come along. You're our friend too, even though you're... well, older than us by a few notches," Lucas retorted. Although Lucas' words were quite sharp, instead of getting angry at his younger brother, Jeremy laughed and finally agreed to join despite looking stiff, awkward, and seemingly so formal. That night, the atmosphere was very cheerful. Their laughter filled the tables, and Jeremy, who had been stiff and cold, began to seem more relaxed and warm in their midst. The café was decorated with small lights hanging from the walls, giving it a warm and cosy atmosphere.Lucas
