Chapter 4

Father…”. Arielle replied with joy on her face.

“I heard the child call you mom. Do you have a child?” Mr. Kim asked.

“Yes Father I have a child. You have a grandson father.” Arielle said with tears flows on her face.

Her son was on the couch watching her mom shed tears. 

He stood up and walked to her

“Why are you crying mom?”he consoled.

Arielle held his cheeks and said

“I’m not crying am just happy.”

The child wiped his mother’s tears with his palm and hugged her.

Mr. Kim was on the phone he heard the sweet voice of his grandson and how he was consoling his mother.

“ father I have been trying to reach you on several occasions but is not reachable anytime I try. I hope you are fine?”. Arielle asked worryingly.

“Yes I am fine now I have heard your voice. You have been away from home for the last three years how do you cope with the living there? Do you even have enough money on you?”. Mr. Kim asked.

“I’m sorry for leaving you behind Father it wasn’t intentional. I’m fine here and we are coping.” She replied to her father as she looked at her son play with toys.

“ I’m trying to figure out how you got this child and what happened?” Mr. Kim said.

Arielle was quiet on the phone. There was complete silence until she broke the silence with a different question

“How is my step sister and step mom doing?” 

“ They are fine. I miss you so much Arielle.. I miss us. Please come back.”. Mr. Kim pleaded.

“ I will come back Father but not now.” Arielle replied.

“Until when Arielle” Mr. Kim asked eagerly.

“Hmmm… Arielle sighed.

“ I will call you some other time.”. Arielle said and hanged up.

Soon she has an alert on her phone she checked and it was money sent from her father.

.she was full of joy.

 A year later when things was well with Arielle and his father, she had a call

“Hello is this Arielle?” the person asked 

“ Yes and how may I help you?”. Arielle asked.

“I am Dr. Phil and I called to inform you of how seriously your father is sick.”

“What.. since when? Is he with you? Can I speak to him?”. Arielle asked.

“Yes.”.the Dr.handed the call to Mr. Kim who was alging down restless.

“Father…how are you?” 

“ I’m fine Arielle… please come back home. I want to meet my grandson before I join my ancestors.” Mr. Kim cried.

“Okay father please hold on for us. We will join you.”. Arielle changed her mind after months her father has been asking her to come.

Arielle told her son about moving to a different country to meet his grandfather. The boy was very happy to hear such a great news from his mother.

He has never met any other person aside his mom.

He lacked his favorite toys in his bag and designed a card.

Arielle booked the first flight in the morning and left to her home with her son.

They got to the house and she realized a lot has changed. Her son couldn’t believe how big the house was.

“Wow mummy are we going to leave here?” he asked 

Arielle gave a smirk and replied

“Yes my love.” 

“Yaaaaaaaahhhhhhh..” the little boy was filled with joy.

They got to the door and knocked. 

“ I’m coming..” 

Senam opened the door and gasped

“what are you doing here?” she asked 

“ Allow me in.” Arielle retaliated. 

She took her son’s hand and walked passed Sen to the house. The security man joined her with her languages.

“After years of leaving you are just back from nowhere.”.

“ Where is Dad I don’t have time for you.” Arielle asked.

The little boy was confused. He looked at the two with a confused face.

She saw her Father walk in with his walking stick.

“Father…,” she ran to him and helped in walk to the sitting room.

Mr. Kim saw his grandson sitting down innocently and very handsome.

“,he looks cuter than I thought.” He said with a smile.

Arielle smiled and sat beside her son.

Senam was looking at them talk about grandson which she was confused she ran quickly to her mother who was busily applying her makeup

“Mom you need to come with me now.” Senam said

“ Can’t you see am busy?” 

“Busy!? Well Arielle is back!”. Senam announced.

“What?”. 

“ That is not all. She came back with a little boy which and sure is her son.” 

Senam and her mother rushed to the living room where Mr. Kim and Arielle was talking about how life has been away from home.

Arielle saw her step mother coming. She stood up and bowed to greet

“Good morning ma’am.”

“ See who we have here. The long lost daughter.”

Arielle ignores her and sat down.

“Is that your son?” the step mother asked.

“Yes he is my son.”. Arielle replied proudly.

“And where is his Father? I mean your husband?” the step mother asked.

“That is not important.”. Arielle replied.

“Are you trying to say that……” before she could end her statement Mr. Kim interfered.

“I’m happy you are back my dear. It’s been a long time and I miss you so much. Come here my little boy .” 

The little boy ran to his grandfather and hugged him so tight.

“ What is you name?”. Mr. Kim asked.

“ Bless.” He replied

“Bless? Wow that is a nice name.”. Mr. Kim replied.

“What is your name?” Bless asked his grandfather.

Mr. Kim giggled and rubbed his hand in his grandson’s hair and replied

“ My name is Kim.” 

“Nice meeting you Mr. Kim.”. Bless stretched his had to give Mr. Kim a handshake.

Mr. Kim was find of Bless. He was such an intelligent young boy.

“We are going to have a family reunion.”. Mr. Kim announced proudly as he carried his grandson on his laps.

Senam and her mother turned to look at each other with a stunned face.

Arielle realized Senam was wearing an engagement ring with diamond.

  AFTER ARIELLE LEFT

When Arielle left the country to abroad, Mr. Kim’s company wanted a cooperation with Leo’s company but that could only be possible when he marries from his family.

One day when Mr. Kim got back from work he was disturbed his wife saw his mood and approached him

“Are you ok?” she asked.

“Not really. There is a problem at work which has made me confused.”. Mr. Kim replied.

“What is the problem? Talk to me.”.

“The company needs to cooperate with Leo’s company I mean Arielle’s company and before that I have to make sure he marries any of my daughter’s and now Arielle has left I don’t know what to do.”. Mr. Kim explained.

“Why must you be worried about this when we have another daughter who can take over her place to avoid and embarrassment.”. 

Mr. Kim looked at her wife’s face skeptically

“You mean Senam?” he asked 

“ Yes Senam am sure will take her place and make you get him to cooperate with the company.”

“But are you sure Leo will accept Senam? He has known Arielle for quiet a long time .”. Mr. Kim asked doubtfully.

“I will talk to Senam and let you know of anything.”.his wife assured.

Mr. Kim sighed and nodded in agreement.

His wife Mrs. Julie went to Senam’s room and informed her of the good news.

Senam after hearing this jumped with joy

“ Yes I will get engaged to him.” She accepted and went to her father personally to tell him how he was going to take place of her sister to avoid their family’s reputation being tarnished.

“Thank you mu daughter.” Said Mr. Kim

Finally Leo and Senam got engaged…..

     PRESNT TIME

 Days after the reunion, Arielle was in the living with her son when Senam came to join them.

“You still haven’t said anything about the boy’s Father. Why what happened? Did you take him from someone out of pity? Or he is fatherless?”. 

Arielle was furious

“Enough Senam! Watch your mouth I don’t owe anyone an explanation to anything.”

Bless was sad. He saw how Senam and her mother ridiculed her mother anytime they come across her.

Bless realized how her mother feels whenever they made mentioned of his Father. He has asked of his Father but anytime he asks Arielle ignores it and makes him happy. 

His mother was everything to him. The actions and words of Senam and grandma was like a sword in his heart.

“I will find my father for my mom so that mommy won’t be bullied again…” he concluded in his thoughts.

Bless was watching TV when he saw an advert on a national piano contest coming up soon.

He decided to partake in the contest which his mother agreed.
