“My daughter was abducted.” Seraphina said, and I scoffed.

Why didn’t she come to me when her daughter was abducted? Why is she just coming now after she had freed Adrian? It is like crying over spilled milk.

“I tried to reason with them about what they wanted. They told me they wanted me to cast spells so Adrian would break free from the cell. I swear, I didn’t want to agree to it.” Seraphina began to explain.

She paused and continued, “But I did agree to it when they threatened to kill Ema, my daughter. It wasn’t my intention. I was on my own when they came. My daughter was already involved; there was nothing I could have done but agree to their terms so my daughter wouldn’t die.”

“Was she killed or not?” I cut into the explanation she was making.
