I was in the cell, void of people and utterly silent. The guards moved around, looking at every cell and everyone in it to see if everything was still intact. That is their daily routine. They check the state of the cells and the criminals in them, especially at night. Most of the time, they come to check the locks and any hidden spaces that could be used as an escape route.

I sighed in defeat as my eyes roamed around the cell I was locked in. It was nothing like home. Just like the truth of elders, a cell is nothing like a bedroom. I have missed my home and everything in it.

This place generally was created artificially for criminals to suffer. I have committed grievous crimes that warrant death, but Ralph didn’t kill me. I knew he wanted to make me suffer for all my wrongdoings.

It was well deserved. By the werewolf laws, I was supposed to either be hanged or executed by a sword, but he locked me up instead. Sometimes, I feel he just wanted to teach me a lesson, and sometimes
