"Please kiss me," I silently begged with my eyes shut tight. I waited, my lips still pressed lightly against his.

I had imagined this moment in my mind countless times. When I could feel his lips on me. I wanted it to be as special as I had imagined.

Time seemed to have stopped as I held my breath waiting. I could feel his breath as his lips parted slowly.

Just as I thought our lips might finally meet, the jarring sound of his phone shattered our fragile moment.

I opened my eyes to see him stepping back, a phone pressed to his ear. Disappointment surged through me as he turned and walked away leaving me alone.
