Chapter 7

Lucas proudly showed me the smartwatch on his wrist.

“Mom, I sent our location to Ivy earlier, and Mr. Evans got here so quickly.”

Ryan blushed a little and gently ruffled Lucas’s hair. Then, he winked at him behind my back.

I could not help but laugh.

It felt so nice to be cared for.

Worried that I might get wet, Ryan took off his coat and covered my head. Then, he shielded me with his other hand as he helped me into the car.

I sat in the back seat and teared up as I saw Lucas laughing and getting along with him.

When we arrived at my apartment building, Ryan insisted on helping me carry the bags upstairs.

I did not refuse his offer, and we walked upstairs. Lucas was in between us, and he held our hands.

As I looked at our reflection in the water, I suddenly thought that being a family of three was not so bad after all.

We were chatting happily, but I froze when we stepped out of the elevator.

Williams was standing at my door with a delicate box in his hands.
