KHLOE’S POV.
“Hi girlfriend.” I heard him say in his deep masculine voice as he leaned in to place a kiss on my forehead. His right hand going around my waist.I felt anger, and hatred surge through me. My eyes landing on the same lips he had spat on me with, few days ago, days before my death. I suddenly felt the urge to puke on him. Why? Why him of all Wolves? Why did the moon goddess have to mate me to the same Wolf that made my first life a living hell?“You look beautiful. I knew you would like the dress.” He complimented, his breathe landing on my face. I was vibrating with anger. My temperature was rising. All the words he was saying started to sound distant and with time I heard nothing, just his mouth moving. The whole place was reeling slowly.Suddenly I was back there, in the hallway of that same school.****“Look who it is. If it isn’t the nerdy teacher.” Andrea said, causing the other male Wolves to laugh loudly. I clutched hard onto the books I held on my chest, my eyes glued to the floor because I dare not look him in the face. My glasses sitting on the brink of my nose. My heart beating so fast. My legs got too heavy but I still managed to take a step after another.I have been bullied for years.I know. I know you might be wondering why I never reported him.Well you are wrong because I did. I had summoned on courage that particular day and informed the Principal of his unruly behavior. His response had been to keep enduring him because his Father is one of the main sponsors of the school and we couldn’t afford to get on his bad book.So here I was, trying to get all that life had thrown to me, and will keep throwing because by now I was so used to it. I was so used to being hated.“Hey Teacher!” Andrea called, stepping in front of me, causing me to stop in my tracks. “Nerdy! Nerdy!” He teased and let out a long laughter, his right fingers clutching onto the lollipop he was sucking on. He rolled it in his mouth and made a sound with it. “If it isn’t the sad little girl whom can’t attend school.” He added in a faint voice, feigning pity.I sniffed back my tear. I knew I had to be strong. I couldn’t afford to break down in front of him.“Such a brilliant nerd. What a waste! You know if you want, I could talk to my Dad about you, and he sure will help. We help poor folks like yourself with bad destinies.” He mocked and titled his head to look at my face. I was sure he wanted to see if I would cry again, just like the last time.My foster Mother, she never wanted me to learn. She explained that there was barely enough money for myself and Cecilla to school so I had to stop schooling at a very tender age. But I knew it. I read books. I loved reading, and learning had always been my big dream. Be a Doctor and help all those who needed help for free. I wanted to make a change, a difference, so I came to teach. I had to do this to gather enough money to train myself in school. And I was trying. I tried. I didn’t want to bother my Foster father too. He was bedridden for now. He had stroke years ago, and sorting his bills was more than enough work for Mrs. Limpsons. That was the main reason I insisted on working. At first, no one wanted to take a she-wolf with barely enough education. This was the first school that did, not first but the only school, and it took me months to prove to them that I was more than worthy of being here. I knew that I couldn’t afford to mess things up.“Oh! That Cecilla coming.” He informed causing my heart to wrench. “Cecilla!” He called out.“Hi, Alpha Andrea. I have to be in class now.” She responded and scurried off.Yes. Just as I expected. I knew she was never going to stand up for me or save me. No one would. I was left alone in this world all by myself. Maybe all this wouldn’t have happened if I was never kept. Maybe it would have turned out different if I wasn’t adopted.Yes! I was adopted, and Mrs. Limpson never ceased to tell me that of recent. How I had brought her nothing but bad luck. How she wished I never existed. But she would always put an act on in front of Father.“Guess your sister hates you too, nerdy nerd.” He mocked. So I stood still, silently wishing that this time would pass as he took his lollipop out and stick it in my hair. The next I knew was the fluid that landed on my forehead. He had spat on me again.“You are not even worth my precious spit, nerdy!” He said, taking some steps backward.I heard him laugh as he walked away with the others, and the tears I had tried so hard to hold back came rushing with force.****“You good?” My so called ‘boyfriend’ asked, his hand landed on my shoulder, causing me to jot back to reality.I blinked back the tears that had miraculously found its way to my eyes, and forced on a smile accompanied by a nod.As much as I hated him and wanted to rip him apart, yell at him, and curse him for treating me like I was nothing. I still had to keep up with my appearance.I was Emily now. I was no longer Khloe. I was no longer vulnerable. I was stronger now. Safer now. I had family whom loved me. I was better now. Beautiful with the body of a model.I muttered to myself to calm my nerves down.“Show me to the table.” I said and watched a smile curl up his lips.I watched him lead the way and I followed behind him, wishing I could push him off a cliff or push him forward so he would smash his head and lose his life, just the way I lost mine. But I manage to hold myself back. This wasn’t the right time yet. This wasn’t the best time to revenge because I would. I would make sure that I made him regret every bit of what he did to me. I would make him pay and watch him weep as he lost every single breathe of his.KHLOE’S POV. I felt powerful arms grab me aggressively from behind, my mouth covered with his rough palm. I tried to let out some screams, some shouts for help, or anything at all, but I couldn’t. His grip on me was just too firm. I struggled to let free, but all to no avail because he tightened his hold. “Stay in a place, you wench.” He cussed and started to drag me with him as we headed in an unclear direction. The basket with which I had come to gather some fruits, as requested by my foster mother, fell right from my right palm to land on the rough floor. We were in the woods, and I doubted anyone would be around here, so I knew shouting for help wasn’t the way out. I could see myself blanking out anytime soon from being unable to breathe well, but I tried hard to hold on. Soon, he stopped in front of a small warehouse. We stopped in front of a warehouse I didn’t know existed until now. He dragged me inside after kicking the entrance door open with his right leg. I felt my b
KHLOE’S POV. I felt someone tap me gently and opened my eyes to see a strange face staring down at me, only that this weird face was smiling and whispering and muttering words, sweet words—something I had never experienced. “You here, young ma’am?.” She said, and I snapped out of my thoughts. “Yea. Yea, I’m here. I guess.” I responded as though wanting to believe my own words. This had to be a dream, after all, one I would wake up from soon. That’s if I wasn’t dead. That’s if this wasn’t paradise. This is a beautiful place. The comfortable bed. The sweet-scented aroma in the air. The color of the room. The smile on this stranger’s face. All felt like peace. “Your mother wants you downstairs for breakfast in a minute.” She informed me, still smiling. “ You should get out of bed now, Miss.” She added. Miss!. Mother!. Breakfast. Downstairs!. These words sounded strange to me because I knew were not things I had experienced. “Mother?.” I questioned, surprisingly. “ I know I don
KHLOE’S POV.My legs danced swiftly as I leaped down the stairs, and it wasn’t because I felt any form of pain in them, but I just felt the urge to move them freely as I hummed a strange tune to myself.“You seem rather radiant this morning, unlike your usual grumpy self.” An older woman said, her eyes accessing me briefly before landing back on the food. All I did was smile in return. My eyes accessed the two middle-aged people at the table, who were supposed to be my family.“Come sit!.” My Father beckoned to me and pushed the chair next to him backward.I smiled and walked across the room to settle on it.“Thanks,” I muttered in a low voice.I heard my Mom chuckle softly.“You good, love?.” She asked.“Why?.” I responded almost immediately, my voice sounding defensive.Did she figure it out? That I am not her….“I mean, you just never say thanks to small things like that.” She explained.“Oh!.” I responded, feeling better and bad that I acted rudely.“I’m sorry. I just woke up on t
KHLOE'S POVI sent another glance at my reflection in the mirror. I was dressed in the gown my secret admirer had sent. It was a stunning, I did not know him, my secret admirer I mean but I had to give him points for style and his apparent fashion sense which going by this dress, was on the mark. The dress was velvet silk, with red colouring and bits of jet black trim especially at the hem of the dress. I turned around and did a little twirl allowing the dress to ripple and flow all around my legs, creating an unbroken circle of red and black.I looked so beautiful. I looked different. I know you think it’s because my face changed but it isn’t. I felt this sense of pride or should I call it fulfillment. Growing up I have always dreamed of dressing up in fancy dresses and having a princess walk, with my hair packed up like that of Cinderella, and have my Prince Charming come for me.Maybe this wasn’t all but this was close. Very close to fulfilling my fantasy.Maybe this was my time.S
KHLOE'S POV "So what's your name?” I asked the mysterious man as he escorted me out of the grand doors, down the stone paved drive way, and past the iron gated fence to reveal a stunning black limo, sleek in it's elegance. It's paint job was superb and it was clearly evident from the way it gleamed in the moon light."James ma'am." He responded as he stretched out his right hand, white gloved and thin, to open the back door of the limo, while he gestured with his left hand at me as if to encourage me to step in to the vehicle."Oh really? That is a nice name." I said as I smiled a little, I was nervous, so nervous about how the day might turn out and how I might end up. I doubted that I could keep up with being Emily for too long. I knew deep down that I was a bad actress."Thank you my lady." He responded as I stepped in to the car, careful not to get the edge trapped in the cracks of the door as James closed it so gently but still firmly as he should. The interior of the limo look
