KHLOE’S POV.

My legs danced swiftly as I leaped down the stairs, and it wasn’t because I felt any form of pain in them, but I just felt the urge to move them freely as I hummed a strange tune to myself.

“You seem rather radiant this morning, unlike your usual grumpy self.” An older woman said, her eyes accessing me briefly before landing back on the food.

All I did was smile in return. My eyes accessed the two middle-aged people at the table, who were supposed to be my family.

“Come sit!.” My Father beckoned to me and pushed the chair next to him backward.

I smiled and walked across the room to settle on it.

“Thanks,” I muttered in a low voice.

I heard my Mom chuckle softly.

“You good, love?.” She asked.

“Why?.” I responded almost immediately, my voice sounding defensive.

Did she figure it out? That I am not her….

“I mean, you just never say thanks to small things like that.” She explained.

“Oh!.” I responded, feeling better and bad that I acted rudely.

“I’m sorry. I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.” I lied, not wanting to leave any clue out.

“You are sorry??. No, dear, I think you woke up on the right side of the bed.” Dad chirped in and laughed softly.

“Our princess must have grown….”

“Give me my teddy!!.” I heard someone yell loudly and turned my head swiftly to the side to see. I sighted two females running into the room, the one with the teddy older than the other. The older one had her long curly orange hair falling freely down her shoulder, stopping at her waist. The youngest had a darker shade of Brown hair, and it reminded me of myself.

“Give me!!.” She yelled loudly again and stood on her toes to snatch it back from the older one.

“No!.” The older one snapped.

“Aria! Ivy!. Sit now!.” Mom ordered, and I watched them run swiftly to settle in the chairs.

“My teddy! Give it to me!.” The youngest screamed and leaned over to snatch it, her right hand reaching midway.

My eyes landed on the fluffy Brown bear with black eyes.

“It’s mine.” The oldest one yelled in response and clung to it with force.

“Mum!.” The youngest one screamed.

“Aria, give your sister the toy now.” Mom ordered, her brows raised.

Oh! That was her name. Then the youngest one had to be Ivy.

I watched Aria grumble, muttering something before stretching the teddy over to her. Ivy smiled and snatched it back, then stuck her tongue out to mock her causing Aria to roll her eyes in disgust.

“Behave, Aria!.” Dad ordered.

“But Dad, it’s Ivy’s doing,” Aria complained.

“Ivy, I won’t have you disrespect your sister, so apologize now.” She turned to her and said.

“But Mom…” She tried to wail but was cut short.

“Apologize now! That’s an order.” Mom ordered.

Ivy mumbled something under her breath, something unclear.

“Louder!.” Mom yelled.

I watched her shrug for a while before responding.

“I’m sorry, Aria. I didn’t mean to disrespect you.” Ivy apologized.

“It’s fine, El. I was going to give it to you anyways.” Aria responded.

I marveled at their relationship, especially the kids: the love, fights, and little quarrels. I never had siblings, so I never got to experience them, and growing up with…..

I wasn’t ready to ruin this beautiful moment with thoughts of the past, my cruel ill-fated history.

“Let’s eat before it gets too cold.” Dad chirped in and picked up his spoon.

“I had one of your favorites done, Emy.” Mom informed me and stood up to dish out what I presumed was mine.

Huh!.” An exclamation escaped my lips as I stared at the hamburger and chips before me.

“I hope you like it. I had to order it for you after last night’s big announcement. I know you must be mindful of your weight now.” She said, and all I did was stare at her, unable to make a meaningful comment about what she said.

What big announcement? Why would I be mindful of my weight?

I wasn’t too big neither was I going to the gym.

“I…I like it.” I lied and sent her a fake smile.

She smiled in return and scoped up the beef soup before her. I stared endlessly at the hamburger and sighed before picking it up. I let it into my mouth gently and munched on a meaningful portion.

It’s good, better, at least.

I mumbled in my head.

Soon everyone grew silent and paid more attention to eating. The doorbell rang once, disrupting that then it rang again.

“I will go get it.” Aria’s voice filled the air.

“Sit, child, and let the staffs do their work.” Mom snapped.

I sighted Aria pout her lips and mumble something under her breath.

“Did you say something?.” Mom questioned.

“No.” She replied in a low voice.

“Good,” Mom responded.

“There’s a young man at the door wanting to see you, young miss Winifred.” The short maid, that looked like she was in her thirties, walked up to us and said.

I stared at her absentmindedly, my brain unable to quickly process what she said since I was still wondering what the big announcement was and why I was being served hamburger on my first day.

“Emy, you good?.” Dad tapped me gently on my left hand and said.

I looked at him immediately and nodded quickly.

“Yea. Yes, I’m fine. Just some…umm..just headache. That’s all.” I lied.

“Sorry, dear. I will have the doctor come over.” He said sweetly, his voice full of concern, and stretched his right hand out to feel my forehead. “ There is someone at the door for you. Do you want me to go instead?.” He added.

“ Oh!.” I exclaimed, almost forgetting I was Emily and also Khloe. “ I will be fine. I will go.” I added and stepped out of my seat, heading towards the maid.

Only I don’t know where it is.

“Can you lead the way, please?.” I told her the one differed from the five I had met earlier today, and it made me wonder how many omegas worked here.

Omegas were the lowest of all packs. They were called the bottom of the bottom, and most lived on the outskirts of most kingdoms. Only the lucky ones get to work for other Wolves.

I knew this because I grew up with them.

“Okay, young miss.” She responded and walked ahead while I followed.

Soon she led me to a big heavy metal door and stepped away. I pulled it backward with all strength, and it opened to reveal the male wolf standing outside, dressed in his dark navy blue khaki uniform with a cap on his head.

“I have a package for you, Ma’am from a secret admirer.” He informed me and stretched the book in his hand towards me, handing me the pen.

I didn’t know who it could be. But I guessed he had to know me, right? So I took the pen and appended my signature, then paused.

Was I to change my signature too? That was if I even had one.

I waved the thought aside quickly and scribbled the name ‘Khloe’ on it, then handed it back to him.

He took it and handed a brown bag to me, then bowed silently before leaving.

I closed the door behind me and walked back to the dinner with the package in my hand, even though I was so curious to know what my newly found secret admirer sent to me.

“Who was that?.” Dad asked the minute I came into view.

“Just some delivery guy,” I replied, trying to brush the conversation off.

“From your secret admirer?.” Mom asked, her voice filled with excitement.

I stayed quiet for some seconds before I responded.

“Yes. How did you know that?.” I asked, surprised that she did.

“He sends you gifts almost every day.” Aria chirped in, sounding as though she was irritated by it, and rolled her eyes.

Gifts! What gifts? Can I see them?

It made me want to ask, but I held it back.

I was Emily now, so I had to be careful with my questions. Besides, they would expect to know all about it.

“Oh!.” I exclaim that my newly found secret admirer wasn’t much of a secret.

“Plus, he is your boyfriend, so yeah.” Aria chirped in again.

“Boyfriend?.” I exclaimed.

She had a boyfriend. I mean, I had a boyfriend.

How? When?.

“Eat your food, girl, and mind your business.” Mom snapped at Aria, then turned back to me. “He is a potential suitor, and we have meant to talk to you about him.” She said and sent a glance to her husband, my Father.

It was how comfortable I had gotten with calling them Mom and Dad for me.

“Suitor!.” I scoffed.

“He is your Fiancée, Emy. Don’t sound like that. He is a perfect guy, and I know he will make a good husband to you and Father to your kids. I have met with him several times, Emy, and I know he loves you. I know you feel the same too. Don’t you?.” Dad said.

My head reeled as I took in the words.

Boyfriend. Suitor. Fiancée. Husband. Father.

“Enough of the talk. I can’t wait to know what lies in that bag.” Mom said excitedly, changing the topic as soon as she realized I didn't want to reply. I don’t know what it was or if it was just curiosity, but it saved me. “Come on.” She yelled in a fun way, and it made me chuckle.

I liked this, her and everyone.

“Okay, Mom,” I responded and opened the bag.

I pulled out the bouquet of red roses, its delightful scent hitting my nose. Its swirling petals, long stems, and oval leaflets add a mystic charm. Its color is pleasing to the eye. I heard her laugh loudly.

“Just like the others.” She said and got up to take them from me. “I will keep it with the others just how you want you, Emy.” She added and went out of sight for some minutes.

I waited patiently for her return as I tried to hold back the urge to tear down the bag and see what was in it. I couldn’t remember the last time I ever got a gift. That was if there was ever a first time. Soon she arrived and settled back in her seat.

“There is more. Let’s see.” She said, and I nodded in response, took a deep breath, pushed my right hand into the bag, and pulled it out.

“Waw!.” She marveled. Not just her but everyone.
