Alfredo’s Pov

“You did not give me a chance to say welcome when you first came home,” Mother said as I walked into the house.

My hands remained on the buttons of my sleeves, as I had not expected her to be waiting for me. I turned my gaze to where she sat, taking in a deep breath.

“I went to make sure I tied every loose end,” I answered, moving to the seat beside her before flanking my ass on it.

“Sheila told me about everything that happened,” my mother said, holding her words there, probably waiting for me to get a hold of myself.

“Yes. He agreed to my proposal. Even without Sheila having to say anything,” I said, turning my gaze to look at the television show she was watching.
