Alfredo's POV
"Melissa!!" I growled her name, my voice echoing through the corridor as I watched her disappear from my sight, while I struggled to stand on my feet. I had no idea Melissa had so much power inside that little body of hers.
Groaning as I clutched my groin in pain, I stood up to my feet. "Let's go after her, Alfredo!" My wolf, Dex, roared with anger, at the thought of losing his mate.
"Prince Alfredo!" A guard called out to me as I made to run after her.
"What?!" I barked, as I turned to face him, Dex, flashing in my eyes.
"L– Luna Aziza sends for you," he Informed, in a trembling voice, as he pissed his pants.
"What for?!" I snarled.
"I– I don't know Prince Alfredo," the guard stuttered. "She only told me it's important that I bring you to her."
I punched the wall beside me as frustration built up inside of me. "Fine, I'll be there soon. Get out!"
I stared at the direction Melissa went, conflicted with my feelings if I should go after her or go answer my mum.
"Prince Colbourne."
"What now?!" I snapped.
"I'm sorry, Prince Colbourne,' the guard apologized, bowing his head slightly. "But Luna Aziza insisted you come with me."
I sighed in frustration, as I knew there was no way I'd walk out of here without the guard following me behind like some persistent mosquito.
Bam! I punched the useless guard as I made my way towards my mother. Since he was completely useless and couldn't read the room that I had somewhere important to be he could at least get a punch.
"You're a coward, Alfredo," Dex cussed. "You just let mate go."
"I'll get Melissa no matter where she goes," I assure him. "She has nowhere and no one to run to."
"Just admit it that you don't have the balls to stand up to your mother," Dex said accusingly.
I ignored Dex's words and made my way to the hall where my engagement ceremony was taking place.
Just outside the hall, before going in, I took a deep breath and adjusted my clothes properly before plastering the fakest most genuine smile I could offer as I opened the door.
"There he is!" I heard my mother's voice. Her eyes seemed to be on the door, waiting for me.
I looked over at her and she was beaming with pride, as she waved at me to come over with a smile spread across her lips.
"Princess Sheila went looking for you," she informed me, in a stern tone, but the smile on her lips did not falter, as I got closer to our table where Sheila's people and mind were seated. "Do you realize how embarrassing it is?" She mindlinked me in the last part.
"I'm sorry, I went to the restroom," I lied, and offered a fake apology, bowing slightly to Sheila's people.
Less than a minute after I came in, Princess Sheila also walked into the hall with graceful steps and a graceful smile on her lips like a true princess. All eyes were on her as she walked in.
"Princess Sheila is not just beautiful but graceful," one of the invited Werewolf dignitaries whispered loudly to his friend, and this made the smile on her lips widen.
"Prince Alfredo is so lucky," I heard one of the invited Werewolf dignitaries say. His eyes filled with lust.
An unexpected growl escaped my lips, as I stared daggers at them.
The werewolf dignitary bowed his head in shame.
"Awww, he's already being possessive," my mum cooed, making Sheila blush uncontrollably, as she took her seat beside me.
"Where did you go, Prince Alfredo?" Princess Sheila asked softly.
"I went to the restroom," I told her the same lie I told my mum.
"I was worried, you just walked out immediately we exchanged our bond rings," she said, looking into my eyes. "We have something important to talk about."
"Shoot," I told her, as I gulped down the glass of wine in front of me.
Sheila smiled shyly. "Not here, privately."
The moment the words privately left her lips, I wasn't interested in whatever she said next. My thoughts drifted back to Mellissa, as I thought of the possible place she could be in the Pack.
"Dex, can you reach out to Lyra?" I asked my wolf.
"You think I haven't been trying?" He retorted. "She has blocked all communication with me, and thanks to your stupidity our bond isn't so strong anymore."
I sighed and massaged my temples.
"Why don't you mindlink the Pack's guards to look for her," Dex suggested.
"That's absolutely brilliant Dex!" I almost jumped up out of excitement. "Why didn't I think about this sooner."
Dex sighed in exasperation. "Because you're dumb," Dex insulted. "I'm the brain, and you're–"
I cut off the communication link between Dex and me. I need to pay full attention if I want to mind link all the guards at once.
"Guards!" I called out as the mind link connected.
"Yes, Prince Colbourne," they answered in unison. The guards present at the bonding ceremony looked over at my side.
"I want you all to–"
I stopped halfway as I thought about what I was about to do. I know my mum has some really trusted guards who were loyal to her to a fault, and If they got the slightest idea that Mellissa was gone, it would be the last time I'd see Melissa, for good. They'll kill her on sight.
"Prince Colbourne," the head guard voice snapped me out of my train of thought.
"Make sure You're extra alert tonight," I changed the topic. "First impressions matter, we can't afford to look weak in front of Lockhart's princess and lack members."
"Yes, Prince Colbourne," they said in unison, and I cut the mind link.
Since I couldn't go out in search of Melissa right now, I decided to mind link the one person I was certain wasn't in my mum's payroll my Beta, Sarah.
I tried reaching out to Sarah, but for some unknown reason, I couldn't.
The clinking sound of glass broke my train of thought. Turning towards the sound, I saw my mum standing, with a glass of wine in her hand and a smile plastered on her face.
"Let's make a toast to the future Alpha and Luna of Silver Rose Pack," she said cheerfully. "To the glory and unity of Silver Rose and Lockhart Pack."
Melissa’s Pov“Take her to the dungeon,” His order rang in my ears like steel bells with his unnerving gaze on me.I moved away from his grip, scared out of my wits. There was no way I escaped a dungeon to end up in another one. Blue eyes that stared at me under the faint glow of the moonlight were no longer enticing and mysterious, having lost all of their allure to a coldness I couldn’t fathom.“No, please. Don’t do this to me,” I pleaded, stepping backward with every word I said to gain distance from the men in front of me.“Do you know where you are, spy?” He said the word with venom under his tongue. His word rang through the woods and sent birds fluttering into the night.“I’m not a spy, I beg of you. If only you would let me pass and I’ll be on my way,” I continued with my pleas, but none of the men before me looked touched by my words as fangs reflected silver under the moon’s glow. Bloodthirst filled the air from their bodies and auras. The man named Alpha Farell stood as his
Alpha Farrell’s PovIt’s been a while since any pack sent spies into my pack. My father made sure of their fear for us with our strength, agility, and stealth. He created a pattern that no pack would ever forget, bringing in an era of blood and death to those who dared to oppose us.I sighed as I leaned into the seat, closing my eyes for a second to recall the incident. If I had not arrived at that moment, both Kirk and Frin would have that lady’s head rolling on the ground, but she claimed not to be a spy.“Who is she?” I muttered the question when I heard a knock on my door. “What is it?” I asked as I knew the hand that had knocked.“The spy is awake, Alpha,” Frin said, his orange hair boobing atop his head as he opened the door. The table creaked as I used it as a support to stand, taking a deep breath before I would say anything else. “Let’s go see her.” He nodded, leading the way back to the dungeon.I entered the dungeon to see her holding the bars and talking to Kirk. “Where we
Alfredo’s Pov A groan escaped my lips as sleep evaded me from the knock on the door. I trudged to the door, aching to sleep with some hours left before I would do anything.“What’s it?” I asked as I opened the door to see the face of my mother’s Beta, dressed in white clothes tucked neatly into a black skirt that fitted her shape.“Your mother wants you to know your fiance is ready to leave,” she said without batting an eyelid.I covered my mouth as I made to yawn, closing the door on her. “Tell her I’ll be on my way soon.”She put her leg in between the space before I could close it shut. “She said right now.” Her eyes burned almost the same way my mother’s eyes would burn when she needed your attention.“Let me clean up and I’ll be with her,” I said to pacify the beta. She nodded as she removed her foot. The sound of her heel clicking to the ground echoed around the hall. I sighed as I shut the door, moving past the furniture and to the bathroom.I stood in front of the mirror, sta
Melissa (Gabriella's POV)I sat still while they discussed what fate would befall me. Startled, when the man he called Kirk came to the gate with Frin. The alpha walked away, leaving those men with me, a huge aura pouring from Kirk’s body.“You heard what he said,” Frin said as he entered the cell, jiggling keys following his hands as he walked to where they locked the chains. “I’d prefer if she died than check for things that would say the same thing I’ve already said,” Kirk said as he leaned on the bars of my cell. “You can only do as the Alpha said. You can’t take matters into your hands when he has decided something already,” Frin said as the chains clattered to the floor before he moved towards me, unlocking the chain and leaving the cuff on my wrist. Kirk scoffed as he opened the gate with Frin lifting me to my feet.“You didn’t need to lie to him about remembering anything,” Lyra said as they led me out of the dungeon. Frin took the front while Kirk remained at the back. It c
Princess Sheila’s POV The journey home was quieter than I expected. Lisa remained quiet the whole time, refusing to tell me the details of what transpired between her and Alfredo’s wolf.“What did he ask of you?” I asked the wolf that had turned mute with me, hoping to get a glimpse of their discussion if not all of it.“He did what we discussed last night,” Lisa said. Her answer sounded like she didn’t want me to ask about it.I agreed with my thought as I stared through the tinted glass. The blue sky was tinted ash by the dark windows, to white fluffy clouds. With a low bow, a guard opened the door for me when we got home. My heels clicked on the ground as I stepped on the mosaic of a rose in front of our house. My father stood, a smile on his face as he welcomed me home. He still looked young with his stubble of almost golden beards on his chin. I wondered why I never got his genes for his golden hair, instead, it was my mother’s silky, black hair.“How did it go?” He asked as he
Melissa’s (Gabriella’s Pov)I followed as he led the way to his mansion. It stood some distance from the dungeon, and I couldn't tell what reasons he had. He liked to walk as he gazed around at intervals, muttering words I couldn’t hear with the nonchalance of a child who had yet to see the world. It proved difficult to believe that someone such as him who would rip your head from your neck; if not given ample reasons, would gaze around like that.“What are we going to do now, Gabriella?” I knew Lyra wanted to make fun of me as she asked that question with my new name. “We’ll see what he has to offer us in his castle and what we can offer him,” I said as I stole glances at him He looked occupied, even with the man who followed us.“That should be his beta,” I said to myself as he followed us. Even as Kirk and Frin dispersed to their station, he didn’t.“I’m sorry you had to walk with me, and the time you spent in the dungeon. It was bad of me,” Alpha Farrell said.I didn’t realize w
Princess Sheila’s POV The house felt boring as I walked out of my room. No dad or mum, just the sound of the TV talking about the recent happenings in the human world. Our identities were secret to them. They wouldn’t know if we attacked them or not. “Where’s dad?” I asked as I turned around the living room searching for him. I knew I left him there some minutes ago before I went to my room. His absence was normal, but he remained at home, waiting for me to come home. It was unlikely he would leave just at the moment I saw him. I walked to his room, turning open the door to be greeted by his absence.“You said you wanted to go to the garden, and I wanted to take that opportunity to roam the woods for a while,” Lisa’s complaints filled my inside as I searched for someone who could take care of himself. Heaving a sigh as I turned away; I walked towards the door. The guards at the door made a little bow as I passed between them. “Have you seen my father?” I couldn’t resist the urge t
Alfredo’s Pov It’s been a week since my engagement and all I’ve done was sleep, eat, and repeat the routine. Not even have a chance to run the pack, as my mother had taken over everything without letting me in on some.“You should let her know how you feel,” Dex said as I threw off the blanket from my body, pushing my feet to the ground.I let out a yawn while I stretched my hands to the sky. Done with it, I was on my feet, moving to the bathroom when I fell to the bed again. I only needed to remain in my study or leave the room and some maid would come clean the house.“Even if I let her know what I feel. I doubt she would let me in on any of those meetings she has with those old men that call themselves elders,” I said, my voice muffled by the bed I placed my head into.“She wouldn’t know about it if you do not tell her,” Dex’s words were enough motivation as I pushed myself out of bed, strolling into the bathroom like the royalty I was.Finished with everything I needed to do.
