Melissa's Pov
It's been over four days since Alfredo said those cruel words to me. Every time I hear footsteps in the dungeon I keep on hoping that it was Alfredo, maybe he has come back to his senses and was ready to apologize, but each time my hopes keep getting shattered. My tears had run dry and all I do all day since then is just lay on the cold harsh floor dejected and wallowing in self pity.
By this time tomorrow all my pains and sufferings would be over, as judgment would be passed upon me on the grounds of theft. It was obvious I'd be executed so I just closed my eyes and got consumed by my nightmares, at least it's better than the emotional nightmare I'm going through.
"Melissa!" I heard my name in a hushed whisper. "Melissa, you've got to wake up!"
Slowly opening my eyes, I saw Sarah, Alfredo's Beta.
"Here, there's no time," she threw a bunch of keys to me. "You need to leave immediately!"
"What's happening?" I stuttered, sitting up.
I couldn't understand what was going on. Sarah was Alfredo's Beta but we've only exchanged a few words with each other, so why was she suddenly helping me? I know she was close to Alfredo's parents most especially his mum. Could this be a plot with Alfredo's mom?
"Did you hear what I just said Melissa?!" She snapped. "I said you have to leave, follow the back gate, the keys are amongst those keys I threw at you."
"But Sarah, how–"
Sarah was gone before I could even complete my statement.
"This is our chance Mel," Lyra, who has been quiet and sulking for days, said.
"But where would we go?" I asked. "We've lived our whole life in Silver Rose Pack, we don't know anyone. Do you want us to live like rogue's?"
"I rather die as a rogue than die as a thief," Lyra said.
"But–"
"Enough with the buts, Mel!" Lyra snapped. "Pick yourself up and let's just go!" She said irritation evident in her tone. "We'll figure things out eventually."
"Okay, okay," I said, and stood up. The guards were nowhere around, for days now they hardly paid attention to me and just focused on gossiping about their tales with women.
Opening the cell gate, I made my way out. Being an omega was an added advantage because I knew every nook and cranny of the Pack house, so I knew where to go without losing my way.
"Oh my gosh, princess Sheila is so pretty," I heard one of the omega's gush. "I can't wait for them to get married after their engagement today, so they'll start having beautiful pups."
"I know right?" Another omega added. "I'm going to plead with Princess Sheila so that I'll take care of their pups."
"Hell no, that's my job," another said, and they soon began arguing about who would look after the pups as they walked away.
Stray tears ran down my cheeks as reality hit me. Alfredo was really getting married to someone else, and throwing everything we had away. Is it because she's a princess and I'm just an omega?
"Don't worry Mel, once we are out of here it wouldn't hurt so much anymore," Lyra comforted me, even though I knew she was hurting more than me.
"I guess you're right, Lyra," I said out loud. "All this would be in the past once we leave."
"Leave to where?" Alfredo's cold voice came from behind, making me shudder.
"Al-"
"Where are you going, Melissa?" His eyes darkened, as he made his way towards me. He was putting on a blue tuxedo suit, it was obvious he just left his engagement party.
I sighed. "I'm leaving Alfredo," I told him boldly. "You're getting engaged, aren't you?"
"You can only leave when I give you permission to," he said and grabbed my arm.
"You're hurting me Alfredo," I told him, and tried removing his hands from my arms but his grip only tightened.
"You belong to me Melissa, you hear me?" He stated, and pulled me with him to goddess knows where.
"Let go of me Alfredo!" I yelled and pulled my arms forcefully from him. "You rejected me, remember?" I said, and couldn't stop the tears from pouring out of my eyes. "You chose to throw all we shared away, like it meant nothing."
"You didn't accept the rejection, remember?" He retorted. "Which means you still belong to me."
"I Melissa Thompson–"
"Don't you dare!" Alfredo growled, clenched his fist, and drove it through the wall behind me, making me flinch. "I will never let you go Mel!"
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I stared at Alfredo in disbelief. I can't believe that the same Alfredo I love with all of me was the same person staring at me right now. I couldn't recognize him.
"Listen here Mel, I'm not letting you go," he said with so much determination, and the next thing he did took me off guard, he brought out his fangs.
"W-what are you doing Alfredo?" I stuttered with my eyes wide open.
"Claiming you forever."
"Let go Alfredo!" I growled and kicked him in his groin making him groan in pain, and I ran away without looking back.
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I escaped through the nearest exit I could find.
"Melissa!!" I could hear Alfredo yelling my name at the top of his lungs.
"I'm sorry Mel," Lyra apologized.
"No need to be sorry Lyra," I told her. "I guess I was so blinded by love, I couldn't see Alfredo for who he really is."
"It's the bond," Lyra said sadly. "It makes us do stupid things."
I didn't say a word anymore and just ran into the woods, and kept on running deeper and deeper into it as my tears flowed freely blurring my vision momentarily.
After running for about an hour, my lungs burned and my legs ache terribly. If they had a mind of their own they'll have deserted me.
I shifted into my wolf and let Lyra take over.
"Which way Mel?" Lyra asked, through our mindlink.
"Just keep going straight ahead," I told her. "I'll let you know when to stop."
"Okay," she answered and kept on running straight ahead like I had instructed.
Lyra kept on running farther and farther into the forest without taking a break.
"Who's there?!" A growl pierced the air, making Lyra stop abruptly. "How dare you trespass into Nightshades territory?!" The commanding voice echoed, it felt like the person was everywhere and nowhere in particular.
"I think this rogue has a death wish," Another voice echoed, still coming from all over .
"I'm not a rogue please," I said in a trembling voice, as I shifted back to my human form, and looked around trying to know where the voice was coming from.
"She doesn't smell like a rogue," a voice said from behind me and I felt a hand on my shoulders making me flinch.
I turned around sharply but it was as if the person disappeared into thin air.
I've heard rumors of Nightshades pack members moving like Ghost, most especially at night. Even with our night vision as wolves it would be extremely difficult to see them, that's how good they were.
"Little wolf, where are you from?" The voice came again.
"I'm from–"
"What's going on here?" The most melodious voice I've ever heard in my entire life spoke.
"Alpha Farell," the two voices from earlier spoke in unison.
"Lyra, can you sense anyone?" I asked, as I scanned the area ,but saw no one. "Lyra," I called out to her again but got no response.
I felt a hand on my shoulder which sent chills down my spine.
I turned around sharply, and my eyes met with the deeped set of blue eyes I'd ever seen. The eyes bore into my very soul, making me gulp.
"Take her to the dungeon," he said coldly.
Alfredo's POV"Melissa!!" I growled her name, my voice echoing through the corridor as I watched her disappear from my sight, while I struggled to stand on my feet. I had no idea Melissa had so much power inside that little body of hers.Groaning as I clutched my groin in pain, I stood up to my feet. "Let's go after her, Alfredo!" My wolf, Dex, roared with anger, at the thought of losing his mate."Prince Alfredo!" A guard called out to me as I made to run after her."What?!" I barked, as I turned to face him, Dex, flashing in my eyes."L– Luna Aziza sends for you," he Informed, in a trembling voice, as he pissed his pants."What for?!" I snarled. "I– I don't know Prince Alfredo," the guard stuttered. "She only told me it's important that I bring you to her."I punched the wall beside me as frustration built up inside of me. "Fine, I'll be there soon. Get out!"I stared at the direction Melissa went, conflicted with my feelings if I should go after her or go answer my mum."Prince Co
Melissa’s Pov“Take her to the dungeon,” His order rang in my ears like steel bells with his unnerving gaze on me.I moved away from his grip, scared out of my wits. There was no way I escaped a dungeon to end up in another one. Blue eyes that stared at me under the faint glow of the moonlight were no longer enticing and mysterious, having lost all of their allure to a coldness I couldn’t fathom.“No, please. Don’t do this to me,” I pleaded, stepping backward with every word I said to gain distance from the men in front of me.“Do you know where you are, spy?” He said the word with venom under his tongue. His word rang through the woods and sent birds fluttering into the night.“I’m not a spy, I beg of you. If only you would let me pass and I’ll be on my way,” I continued with my pleas, but none of the men before me looked touched by my words as fangs reflected silver under the moon’s glow. Bloodthirst filled the air from their bodies and auras. The man named Alpha Farell stood as his
Alpha Farrell’s PovIt’s been a while since any pack sent spies into my pack. My father made sure of their fear for us with our strength, agility, and stealth. He created a pattern that no pack would ever forget, bringing in an era of blood and death to those who dared to oppose us.I sighed as I leaned into the seat, closing my eyes for a second to recall the incident. If I had not arrived at that moment, both Kirk and Frin would have that lady’s head rolling on the ground, but she claimed not to be a spy.“Who is she?” I muttered the question when I heard a knock on my door. “What is it?” I asked as I knew the hand that had knocked.“The spy is awake, Alpha,” Frin said, his orange hair boobing atop his head as he opened the door. The table creaked as I used it as a support to stand, taking a deep breath before I would say anything else. “Let’s go see her.” He nodded, leading the way back to the dungeon.I entered the dungeon to see her holding the bars and talking to Kirk. “Where we
Alfredo’s Pov A groan escaped my lips as sleep evaded me from the knock on the door. I trudged to the door, aching to sleep with some hours left before I would do anything.“What’s it?” I asked as I opened the door to see the face of my mother’s Beta, dressed in white clothes tucked neatly into a black skirt that fitted her shape.“Your mother wants you to know your fiance is ready to leave,” she said without batting an eyelid.I covered my mouth as I made to yawn, closing the door on her. “Tell her I’ll be on my way soon.”She put her leg in between the space before I could close it shut. “She said right now.” Her eyes burned almost the same way my mother’s eyes would burn when she needed your attention.“Let me clean up and I’ll be with her,” I said to pacify the beta. She nodded as she removed her foot. The sound of her heel clicking to the ground echoed around the hall. I sighed as I shut the door, moving past the furniture and to the bathroom.I stood in front of the mirror, sta
Melissa (Gabriella's POV)I sat still while they discussed what fate would befall me. Startled, when the man he called Kirk came to the gate with Frin. The alpha walked away, leaving those men with me, a huge aura pouring from Kirk’s body.“You heard what he said,” Frin said as he entered the cell, jiggling keys following his hands as he walked to where they locked the chains. “I’d prefer if she died than check for things that would say the same thing I’ve already said,” Kirk said as he leaned on the bars of my cell. “You can only do as the Alpha said. You can’t take matters into your hands when he has decided something already,” Frin said as the chains clattered to the floor before he moved towards me, unlocking the chain and leaving the cuff on my wrist. Kirk scoffed as he opened the gate with Frin lifting me to my feet.“You didn’t need to lie to him about remembering anything,” Lyra said as they led me out of the dungeon. Frin took the front while Kirk remained at the back. It c
Princess Sheila’s POV The journey home was quieter than I expected. Lisa remained quiet the whole time, refusing to tell me the details of what transpired between her and Alfredo’s wolf.“What did he ask of you?” I asked the wolf that had turned mute with me, hoping to get a glimpse of their discussion if not all of it.“He did what we discussed last night,” Lisa said. Her answer sounded like she didn’t want me to ask about it.I agreed with my thought as I stared through the tinted glass. The blue sky was tinted ash by the dark windows, to white fluffy clouds. With a low bow, a guard opened the door for me when we got home. My heels clicked on the ground as I stepped on the mosaic of a rose in front of our house. My father stood, a smile on his face as he welcomed me home. He still looked young with his stubble of almost golden beards on his chin. I wondered why I never got his genes for his golden hair, instead, it was my mother’s silky, black hair.“How did it go?” He asked as he
Melissa’s (Gabriella’s Pov)I followed as he led the way to his mansion. It stood some distance from the dungeon, and I couldn't tell what reasons he had. He liked to walk as he gazed around at intervals, muttering words I couldn’t hear with the nonchalance of a child who had yet to see the world. It proved difficult to believe that someone such as him who would rip your head from your neck; if not given ample reasons, would gaze around like that.“What are we going to do now, Gabriella?” I knew Lyra wanted to make fun of me as she asked that question with my new name. “We’ll see what he has to offer us in his castle and what we can offer him,” I said as I stole glances at him He looked occupied, even with the man who followed us.“That should be his beta,” I said to myself as he followed us. Even as Kirk and Frin dispersed to their station, he didn’t.“I’m sorry you had to walk with me, and the time you spent in the dungeon. It was bad of me,” Alpha Farrell said.I didn’t realize w
Princess Sheila’s POV The house felt boring as I walked out of my room. No dad or mum, just the sound of the TV talking about the recent happenings in the human world. Our identities were secret to them. They wouldn’t know if we attacked them or not. “Where’s dad?” I asked as I turned around the living room searching for him. I knew I left him there some minutes ago before I went to my room. His absence was normal, but he remained at home, waiting for me to come home. It was unlikely he would leave just at the moment I saw him. I walked to his room, turning open the door to be greeted by his absence.“You said you wanted to go to the garden, and I wanted to take that opportunity to roam the woods for a while,” Lisa’s complaints filled my inside as I searched for someone who could take care of himself. Heaving a sigh as I turned away; I walked towards the door. The guards at the door made a little bow as I passed between them. “Have you seen my father?” I couldn’t resist the urge t
Hello guys, so the last chapter was supposed to be an author's note. I'm not really familiar with the author's center interface, so please bear with me. So, guys, I understand that I haven't uploaded any chapters for over two months, and that's because of my health. I'm really really sorry about that, but my health is not entirely under my control. I had to rush the story even though I had a lot planned out(walking you guys through on how Claire was caught, and what happened with Alfredo and his family). I just had to wrap it up because I feel it's long overdue. I know many of you must have forgotten about one or two details regarding the story, but for every single one of you that sticked to the end, I'm super grateful 🙏🏽. This is actually my first story, and the love you guys showed me was immense. Thank you so very much, and God bless you all. I hope to see your support whenever I come up with a new story. Kindly leave your honest reviews and criticism, on the general comment
Alpha Farrell's POV Two Months Later. It's been two whole month since I found out that Gabriella and I were mates, and all the saga that led us to this moment. Alfredo has been stripped off his position as Alpha, and his family exiled from the Pack, they're basically rogues with nothing but scraps to feed on. Princess Sheila on the other hand, was given a more milde punishment. Lockhart was still under Nightshade's while she served as an omega in the Packhouse. This was the mildest punishment we could give her, since it was with her help I was able to locate Alfredo after he secretly changed the location where he held Gabriella and the boys. The first phone call I had received was from her. But Alfredo found out she was tipping me off, and used her to lure me into a trap. Where he used those rogues who attacked us to secretly inject us with wolfsbane, making us weak and powerless. Princess Sheila still came to the rescue, soon after Alfredo came to gloat while I was chained, and c
Melissa’s POV One month later. The gown in front of me was sparkling, casting glittering lights from its reflection as the helpers helped me don it.“It’s pretty, mummy,” Daemon said with his brother running behind him.The helpers stood at the door, stopping them from reaching me for fear of them ruining it.“Let them in,” I said, waiting for my boys to run into my arms. They came in haste, but mounting their distance, even as curiosity pushed at them to touch my gown.“My wife is going to wear one like this when I get married,” Damian said as he caressed the gown.I threw him a smile, bending as low as my gown would allow me to touch their heads. “Of course she would,” I said as I pinched his cheeks.“Are you ready?”I raised my head to meet Aiden as he stood in front of the room, dressed elegantly, for the matter. “I am.” The answer was no surprise for me as I straightened my gown while Aiden held out his arm for me.“You wouldn’t want to keep the groom waiting for too long,” he s
Gabriella’s POV I stood like a display doll in front of the entire Silverrose, as I listened to Alfredo give a glamorous speech to justify why he's an asshole.I can't wait for all this to be over so Alfredo can take me to see my voice. He has done all he can to break me, and since he wasn't succeeding, he stopped so low as using my boys, our kids to threaten me.‘I only want you Mel, we can make more babies,’ he said, holding a knife over Damian. My baby was so scared and called out to me for help but I couldn't do anything. Now in order to keep my kids alive, I'm subjecting myself to an eternity of hell on earth. But I can endure all that, as long as my boys are fine. The look on Farrell's face when I told him I wanted to be with Alfredo broke me every time I thought about it.Alfredo nudged me, which was his cue, telling me to smile. I forced a smile, as Alfredo took another gulp of wine.“You're mine forever now, Mel,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper as he brought out
Claire's POVToday makes it exactly four days since I saw Aiden and Alpha Farrell last. From what I was told, they suddenly got into their car and drove off. At first I was worried that maybe, somehow they'd figured out that Gabriella was in Silverrose Pack, but I called Alfredo and he confirmed that they never showed up at his Pack.I didn't take his words for it when he told me, but everywhere has been calm, and there's no way in hell that Alpha Farrell found Gabriella and Alfredo still have his head.“Don't get happy too quickly,” Anya said through the mindlink. “I’ve got a feeling that this is the calm before the storm.”“Yeah right,” I replied, rolling my eyes. “There's no storm coming. If there's one thing, the storm already happened and this is the calm after the storm.”“But–”“Not now, Anya!” I snapped. “Alfredo is going to mark and announce Gabriella as his Luna today, and we’re going to witness that alongside anybody,” I explained. “So, no matter what storms come after this
Alpha Farrell's PovHow we arrived at the location in the text was a total blur. The stone walls of the shrines were cracked and filled with overgrown vines. As we stepped towards the entrance of the shrine, the door to the shrine creaked open.“Ah, Alpha Farrell,” Alfredo called out gingerly, spreading his arms wide like he was seeing an old friend. “I must say, I'm disappointed you didn't send an official letter. I would have made your welcome, more… memorable,” he smirked.“Cut the crap, Alfredo!” I snarled, bringing out my claws, as I marched forward, Ora flashing in my eyes. “Where's Gabriella? Where are my boys?”“Your boys?” Alfredo chuckled darkly. “I think you're getting things wrong, Alpha Farrell,” he said, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “THEY ARE MY BOYS. And as for my MATE, I'm sure she doesn't want to see you.”“Alfredo!” I growled, charging towards him.“Farrell!” Aiden called out to me from behind.“What?!” I snapped irritatedly, turning sharply to face him
Alpha Farrell's POVIt's been three days since Aiden made me see things clearly, and honestly speaking, this has been the longest three days of my entire life. It actually felt like an eternity. I'm trying to do things Aiden's way but Ora isn't having it. He's beating himself up about not seeing through this and believing Gabriella won't just abandon us like that. The door to my study swung open and Aiden walked in."Any news from your guys?" I asked impatiently."Yes, they trace Alfredo to a secluded house at the outskirts of his Pack's territory," he explained. "One won't even guess something like that was there," he said. "They'll try and confirm if Gabriella and the boys are there tonight," he continued. "The place is heavily guarded, and if they're indeed there we wouldn't want to tip Alfredo off that we're on to him so we need to be careful and patient–""I don't have patience, Aiden," I said, my voice higher than usual. "I messed up, don't you get it?" I asked rhetorically. "I
Alpha Farrell's POVIt's been over two weeks and I felt like my life has been sucked out of me. The heavy stench of alcohol was the air I breathed in now, accompanied with the whimpering of my wolf, Ora. What was left of both of us was our brain refusing to accept that Gabriella was truly gone, she left us to be with that scumbag.I can't even tell what's happening physically and what's just a figment of my imaginations. For the first few nights Gabriella left, my nights were plagued with dreams of her returns, but for the rest of the night till now I couldn't tell the difference between day and night, I've been in a loophole of endless emotional torture. Why I feel this way, I had no idea. She wasn't my mate, I've never had one but I'm sure even wolf's that lost their mates didn't feel as empty as I'm feeling right now.Has Gabriella always been like this? Was I blinded by the soft spot Ora had towards her that I couldn't see the real her? All that filled my thoughts were countless q
Claire's POVIt's been two weeks since Melissa supposedly left Nightshades, and Alpha Farell has basically done nothing but locked himself up in his room, while the omega's dropped cartons of alcohol by his door. Most nights, we could hear him growling, it felt like a part of him left with that bitch. Well, I just need a chance to make him forget all about that bitch at the drop of a hat."Do you have everything that I asked for in there?" I overheard Aiden's voice, it was coming from the kitchen."Yes, Beta Aiden," an omega responded.Curiosity got the better of me, and since I was practically idle at the moment I decided to go find out what's happening."Hey Aiden, what's happening?" I asked ,as I saw trays of different foods lined up."Nothing, just want to take this food to Alpha Farell," he responded and got back to dishing out orders."Isn't this a bit too much?" I asked. "He hasn't eaten for two weeks now, the last thing he'll want is too much food.""I don't know," Aiden said
