Amelia had grown accustomed to the rhythm of the forest, the rustle of leaves, and the calls of distant creatures. For months, she had lived in solitude, hiding from the world, seeking solace in the embrace of nature. But today, something changed.

As she crouched beside a small stream, cupping her hands to drink, her ears caught the sound of footsteps. Her heart quickened, and she froze, every muscle tensed with apprehension. Were they from her pack? Had they found her?

She listened intently, the murmurs growing louder as the voices drew nearer. They spoke of an Alpha, one filled with rage, heartless and cruel. Fear gripped her, and she struggled to control her breathing, hoping against hope that they weren't here for her.

Damien, Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack, prowled through the woods with his packmates, his senses attuned to every scent, every sound. The whispers of his companions filled his ears, painting a picture of a tyrant ruling over his pack with an iron fist. It was a description that resonated with his own experiences, memories of a past he wished he could forget. He knew what it turned him to, a heartless werewolf with no mercy.

And then he caught it, a scent so intoxicating, so tantalizingly familiar that he couldn't resist. With a predatory grace, he traced it to its source, his steps silent as he closed in on his prey.

Amelia's heart hammered in her chest as she sensed his approach, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end. She spun around, but it was too late. Strong arms encircled her, pulling her close, and she found herself staring into eyes as dark and stormy as the night sky.

"Who are you?" Damien's voice was low, commanding, and she trembled beneath its weight. "And what are you doing here?"

She tried to speak, to explain, but fear choked the words in her throat. She had heard the stories of the Dark Moon Alpha, tales of his brutality and ruthlessness. And now, here he stood before her, his gaze piercing her soul. “What are they here for by this time?

"She's one of them," one of Damien's packmates growled, his voice tinged with suspicion. "I should take you to the Pack house. There your fate will be decided."

“What are you going to do to me? Just let me go and I'll never show my face again, please.” Amelia begged.

“Quiet! Damien barked at her, you should be quiet and be thankful I didn't kill you instantly at that time I saw you. One more word from you and I'll end you.”

Amelia trembled at that and wondered what would become of her.

“Even my father doesn't bark at me at home.” Her brow raised high as she thought.

As they walked, the forest seemed to close in around them, the trees whispering secrets that Amelia couldn't decipher. Damien's presence loomed large beside her, his every movement exuding power and authority. She stole glances at him when she thought he wasn't looking, trying to glean any clue as to what fate awaited her.

Damien's mind churned with conflicting emotions as he led the mysterious girl through the woods. He couldn't shake the feeling that her scent drew him near.

Her scent, a tantalizing blend of wildflowers and rain, stirred memories he had long tried to suppress.

“I don't want a second chance mate.” He thought to himself.

As they reached the edge of the clearing, Damien's packmates fell into step behind them, their eyes watchful and wary. The rest of the pack had gathered, their murmurs falling silent as they caught sight of their Alpha returning with a stranger in tow.

Whispers rippled through the crowd as they took in the sight of the girl, her hair tangled and wild, her clothes torn and dirt-streaked.

“She looks forsaken.” A pack member commented. There were only murmurs because the Alpha entrance is their fear.

"Who is she, Damien?" The question came from Marcus, Damien's second-in-command, his voice edged with concern. "And what does she want?"

“You don't ask me questions” his eyes turned making Marcus move back as it would occur in a fight.

Damien hesitated, his gaze flickering to the girl at his side. She stood tall, her chin lifted defiantly, despite the fear that lingered in her eyes.

Damien ordered Amelia to be taken to a room.

"I found her in the woods," he said finally, his voice steady. "She claims to have no pack, no home. The rest of my decision is not yours to know.

As the evening descended, casting long shadows across the clearing, the atmosphere in the Dark Moon Pack's territory grew tense. The arrival of Amelia had sparked a flurry of speculation and gossip among the pack members, each one offering their own theories about who she was and why she had appeared out of nowhere.

Some whispered that she was a spy, sent by a rival pack to gather information or sow discord. Others speculated that she was a lone wolf, cast out from her own pack for some unspeakable crime. But no matter the rumors, one thing was clear: Damien's decision to bring her into their midst had set the pack on edge.

Amelia, meanwhile, on the life fate had bestowed on her.

Seeking solace, she asked to go to the outskirts of the clearing, where the trees offered a measure of privacy from prying eyes. The room is nothing different from why she had to run from her pack. She felt suffocated in the room she was locked in with tight security.

“What does he even want with me?” She thought.

“Get me out of here.” She screamed, her voice echoed through the passages.

A watchman heard her and went in, telling her it's better to keep quiet so as to not annoy the Alpha.

“I want to leave,”she yelled.

Murmurs were heard from the entrance and the door drifted open

“Did I not tell you not to say a word.?” He groaned as he could sense her scent yet

Damien was lost in the thoughts of the night he had with Amelia. He could remember the way he flipped his hand round her waist. He saw her in her wolf form and it strengthened the scent he had control over once. He was moved with her glow in the dark night and her soft ash eye. Her beauty he noticed at that moment and walked towards her himself. Amelia stared at him as he moved close to her “You've suffered so much yet you still look beautiful under the night sky.” He whispered in her hears.“You're drunk Damien.”“No I'm not.” He said flipping her hair back and forth. He took her hands and watched her reaction. He has longed to move closer to her so close. He lifted her up from the corridor and took her to his room.Amelia wondered how she didn't stop him. Amelia’s POV “Oh! Really? Really? You think you can just come in here and do whatever you want, have you forgotten I’m the alpha and you have to listen to me? Amelia, get your butt out of here.” Damien spout angrily. His voice beckons fury, I could feel the whole room tremble, Ethan could not do anything and I just stood still maintaining my order before things go wrong again. Damien took a few steps close to me, in his bathrobe, looking so handsome, and with each step he took it was pleasing and enticing. I almost forgot his fierce words, and that stopped when he finally got to me. “Didn’t you hear me? Get out and back to where you should be, and one more unnecessary act, I’m throwing you into a punishment that you will regret ever talking back at me.” I shivered at his words, maybe I made a mistake trying to talk him into releasing me. He never will, I guess. I mean, I feel so stuck, I want to stay and I can’t even make my own choices around here. I feel so suffocated. “You

Damien’s POV The sight of her not being in the room ached me, I don’t know why I felt like she’d run away. And her absence in this room turned me off. “Where the hell did she go to?” My hands flipped the mirror down, breaking it into pieces. My fury rose not seeing her immediately. It took about thirty minutes before Ethan showed up. “Without her? I swear, she’ll regret doing this!” “Calm down, my lord. She was just having fun with one of the damsels around.” “What are you saying? I want to see her here right now.” I took his hands, and said slowly and slowly. Ethan might have been the only one who has seen my miserability, His face comforts me, my childhood friend does a great deal as he shows love, and comforts me. “I’ll bring her here now.” “Yes, please. Do so.” Ethan left the room swiftly and I sat quietly on the bed waiting for this girl that tortures me with her disappearance. “My Lord, I’m so sorry. Amelia’s POVThe morning came so swiftly, I felt like I hadn't had any sleep. Her voice brought me up from my sleep.“Rise and shine, you have to start getting ready.”“Did he tell you to do this too?”“No, but he might have. He told me to get you ready by sunset today.”“I see.”“Come on, you’ll be fine.” She encouraged me like I had last night. Cassie’s presence has given me a lot of risen feelings to stay and get used to the pack house interests. I might have learnt a thing or two, like giggling and ignoring the crippled arrogance. We rode through the dark cold night, my face felt so pale and argued. I watched the silence fading with Ethan’s voice over my head.“Are you okay?” His face looked so questioning and quite different from the real question he asked me. I just sniffed the blunt air and ignored him like he had ignored me all through. I’m not suffering that hard, I just couldn’t compare the hard feelings I’ll get if I was actually back at home. Ethan turned back and looked

Ethan gave Damien a curious look, waiting for his answer. He was sure he’d accept her but Damien was quite unpredictable and made his decision as he wanted to. “I can’t say yet, I may give her a chance but not sooner. I can’t risk the pack in the hands of a fragile Luna. One that will stay and not run like my mum did. “You mean someone that will be able to fight alongside you?” “Yeah, a bit of Keila’s affectionate and concerned behavior.” “Amelia looks comfortable here though, have you asked her yet? “Ask her what?” “What she was doing behind that tree that night we were on patrol.” “I have, she refused to say.” Ethan gave a faint smile causing Damien to turn to him strongly. “Do you know why she’s not talking?” “Not so, but you’ve not given her the chance to speak on that and you’ve claimed her.” “If I lose a captive, I lose ten percent of my respect. No one dares to trespass into our pack. That is a rule everyone knows.” Damien said with a firm utterance, like

Amelia’s POVThe dress was stiff and I felt stuck, looking like I had my balance far away from a strong being. It suddenly felt like a smell of betrayal. Cassie didn’t mention training with Damien. I took all the ounce of my strength to ignore his smell, if I could try to sprout out the beast inside of me but not until I’ve finally gained his trust to make me his Luna. “You’ll make a great Luna, Amelia.” Her voice was always comforting, and I felt going to sleep last night was the better option even if I wasn’t feeling too sleepy. I had to make Damien trust me to be able to handle the position. “On what terms do you think he’d make me available in the dungeon? It seems he has a thing for dark rooms, but throwing that guy in the dungeon…..?”“Don’t worry about that. He has a ton of forgiveness in his blood, see him? He has been an offender since he arrived here. We'll talk about that after your first training session tomorrow.” She assured me. _ _ _ _ _ _ The sun was yet to rise, i

Amelia’s POVMy heart skipped a bit, the door opened and a guard came in. It was a prayer I had long wanted to come onboard, but not this way. Everything about the pack was really questionable.“The alpha wants to see you.” He said, his voice almost sounded like a warning. “Me?'' I asked, I definitely wasn't the only one sitting round the table. Sapphira had invited us for dinner and I had to leave the room. I knew he said I was going to spend the night in his room, but not so fast, the moon wasn’t even out yet. “We’re having a meal, as you can see.” Sapphira answered.“I believe he said; I want to see her now, go find her.” his voice came up like a stern warning once more. I rolled my eyes at the meal on the table and stood up immediately.“I’ll leave too.” Cassie didn’t take a chance to sit a moment after I stood up. She followed right behind me and the guard.***“Did you leave the room, after i asked you not to wander around again?” “Seriously” I thought, “why does his voice so

Sapphira’ POVI heard their sneaky voices right behind the door, it doesn’t seem right, but if I was going to get my way with Damien, that bitch has to leave. I heard footsteps down the hallway, loud and steady, I was forced to leave the entrance of the door and find somewhere else to hide. It was obvious Ethan wasn’t doing his Job. At least the first was successful until Terry asked me to leave. Such a pack of fools in the family. “I need everything to go well, perfectly well, then you can trade whatever you want to.” I heard Damien’s voice go so straight, I wish he had said every detail. They all kept making me confused. I went back to my room to pick up my phone, it wasn’t allowed in the pack. Damien believed the spies that invaded the pack a few years ago were communicating through that. I hid it very far away from prying eyes, I know what that means, because I was one myself. If i picked my phone, the call will be directed, i knew i had to try something better. How about befrien

Have you forgotten who I am?” I slammed my hands on my head, anger beaming inside of me, who does he think he is?“You just do things without asking me?” I said,“That’s why I wanted to leave in the first place.” I muttered under my breath. He kept quiet for a while and we remained in silence, “Aren’t you going to say anything?” I asked, and found myself laughed at. His hands picked my face gently, I could feel his hands run deep into my head, and my feet were off the ground, like I was in a dance display. It was hard to decipher. I didn’t know what to do, he carried me into the room and dropped me on the soft vest with his scent covering it all. I jerked back to my senses,“What the hell,

"I'm sorry, you weren't going to let me stay with her, I mean to make friends, so I guess I'll just come to you then." She walked slowly up to me and rubbed her palm on my chest. Sapphira was waiting for me, I knew Damien would tell me to go there, and of course, he did ask me to stay there. Her beautiful brunette hair. Dripped down her smooth floppy back, I picked a strand of her hair and kissed it. Her nice scent filled me,“I’ve missed you.” I whispered right behind her curvy ears. She giggled and pulled off my fitted shirt, “Then go straight to what we’re here for before he comes in.” “He won’t be back any minute, he’s with Amelia.”“Ah! That new girl, I bet she hasn’t seen him deeply yet, if not, she wouldn’t be curling her hands around him.”“She’s not, Damien is just confused about claiming her. Chapter 15“What do you think you are doing here?” I grabbed her hands and swung her back, “Nothing, just talking to our guests.”“And who told you she was a guest?” “My bad, I’ll just wait outside.” Sapphira has been a bitch, and I don’t know why my mother would want her to come around. To come with us to the pack house. I really feel so disengaged. “Yeah, you should. And if you don’t want to be thrown out, keep a space.” She smiled and turned her face, walked out of the room. I got to Amelia and held her hands, her eyes were as that cold beautiful night, that was the light time I ever uncovered my feelings. “Hey, how are you now?”“I’m fine, thank you.” Her solemn voice echoed deeply in my head like, “I love you, Damien.” but it wasn’t so. Amelia’s PovI stood behind the door, watching every of their moves, Damien looking for me like he lost a treasure and he claims not to want me as his mate. Tch, joker!. I bet I could deal with him, better than his mum could, and just when I was about to show my face to the aggressive being, a figure dressed classically, her hair dripped right behind her back. Her smile, bright and wide and her voice when she spoke,“Can I come along too?” She said, stepping in the house without being invited. “Sapphira?”“I met her at the town square, she was busy being the sapphira that she is.” Alpha Terry, the one who was gone for a while said, “Amelia!” I almost forgot there was a little boy in the house, Nick saw me standing behind the door, yet a bit visible, except Damien couldn’ see me. That I could tell, he searched the house and didn’t notice or think to find me in my room. The little boy ran towards me and hugged me.“I knew you were always this beautiful,” he complimented.“Thank you,

Damien’s POVI stuttered, trying to get up from the sleep I was unable to get, for the hours that passed through the night, it was really awful. I should at least get some sleep but couldn’t. The noise out there in the outer compound got into my head and I fastened my steps to get outside. “I should check on Amelia first.” I thought. Changing my direction to her room, I knocked and got no response. “She might be in the bathroom, but it’s just five in the morning” “What? Ethan, were you following me?”“It’s not just you that can't sleep, Alpha. I watched you come out of your room. The boys are ready to leave but you don’t seem ready.”“I’ll come back to that later, let’s find Amelia first.”“She’s not a kid, just resting.” I knocked harder, ignoring Ethan’s words, if Amelia gets out of my grip, anyone behind it will be punished. I’ve brought down my anger and fast judgment all because of my mother. “Open up, Amelia.” I cried behind the locked door, or the door that I thought was lo
