Damien’s POV

The sight of her not being in the room ached me, I don’t know why I felt like she’d run away. And her absence in this room turned me off.

“Where the hell did she go to?” My hands flipped the mirror down, breaking it into pieces. My fury rose not seeing her immediately. It took about thirty minutes before Ethan showed up.

“Without her? I swear, she’ll regret doing this!”

“Calm down, my lord. She was just having fun with one of the damsels around.”

“What are you saying? I want to see her here right now.” I took his hands, and said slowly and slowly. Ethan might have been the only one who has seen my miserability, His face comforts me, my childhood friend does a great deal as he shows love, and comforts me.

“I’ll bring her here now.”

“Yes, please. Do so.” Ethan left the room swiftly and I sat quietly on the bed waiting for this girl that tortures me with her disappearance.

“My Lord, I’m so sorry. I just thought she needed a walk, since she’s unfamiliar with the pack.”

Though her voice sounds so sincere, I stood up with rage, my body boiling and melting away all the patience I had to have and bear just for Amelia to show up.

“Forgive her, Alpha. Cassie was dumb to do that.”

“If I order your head cut off Cassie, blame your stupid acts. I haven’t given you freedom in this pack to misuse it.” I warned.

“And I don’t want to see you near her.” I ordered.

“But I love her around.”

“And who gave you the right to say anything?”

“I…I’m sorry, I just love her being around me.” Her stuttering voice even sounded so lovely. My heart felt eased immediately and I bowed my head down in disbelief hiding the fact that her words got me. A drop of tear fell from her eyes and I couldn’t watch.

“You both should leave, I want her here alone.”

Keila was also the best lady I’ve come across. I could still remember the fragrance of her dresses, her soft whistle when she wants to tease me and be naughty. Amelia is quite different from her, a lot of difference.

Keila had a warrior inside of her, she’s fearless. Amelia is just handing over fear and I feel I’m yet to know her well. I don’t want to be with a fragile Luna, so I’m not going to accept her. Not yet.

Ethan and Cassie left the room the instant I asked them to leave. I was with Amelia again, alone. Her scent filled me when the tears welled up in her eyes. How can the moon goddess give me Amelia to deal with? I hit my hand on my face and asked her to come closer.

“When you leave my sight, it freaks me. I’m yet to know who you are and what to do with you. You are my mate and I don’t know what position to put you right now.

So, if you try to run away, trust me you are doing yourself no good, Amelia. I make the rules here, and any wolf that bears a captive in this pack is mine and lives under my roof. What part of ‘always obey’ don’t you understand?”

“I want to go home.”

“Stop saying that!” I growled so loudly that it got her scared.

“Take it easy with her.” I could hear my wolf calm me down.

“For the rest of the days I will be out of this pack, you will be guarded. No going out, no stepping out. You want it the hard way? You will get it the hard way.” I assured her.

“And that’s how you always nag.” She muttered. My wolf triggered at the disrespect, I held her neck in a tight grip, almost choking her.

“You should be grateful you are my mate, or else I’d have killed you by now. And respecting my mum’s decision to let death be still.” I paused, she said nothing, her eyes filled with no expression as she stared at me. Though her stare was wild, it didn’t scare me.

“Yeah, my mum. I guess you are not going to be staying in this room anyway.”

“Really? You’ll let go?”

“Amelia, shut up!”

She stood straight and looked away from me.

“What the hell are you doing? If you think annoying will make me chase you out, you are wrong. You will only bring more pain upon yourself.”

“You are going with me by nightfall tomorrow. Will get Cassie to get you ready.”

“Don’t try anything stupid, or your Cassie will pay for it.”

“She’s just a friend I just meant and you can’t be stupid enough to kill her after I already run away.”

“So, you really want to run away? Where do you keep this hatred for me?”

“As long as you don’t leave me to do my thing.”

“I’m done having this conversation. Clean up your wet face, you don’t look good crying.” I could sense her blush, a brief smile ran across her face still on with the wild look though.

“I wonder where Cassie took you to. Get cleaned up than normal before going to sleep.”

“I will, don’t pester me.” She looked at me and turned her face away. I moved closer to her, and raised her chin. She flipped her head off my hands. I raised her head up again and she gave in this time. Breathe heavily on her, I breathed in her scent again and placed a kiss on her forehead.

“Your smell…” I whispered behind her ears. I could feel her shiver and my wolf wanted to claim her at that moment.

“Alpha?” Ethan called out from the door after he opened it swiftly. I quickly took hands off her and told her to go to bed. The sun sets quickly and I’d like to see her in her form but it’d only ache me.

“Ethan?”

“I’ve prepared it all. We are ready.”

“We leave by sunset tomorrow.”

“Not today again?”

“No, Amelia is coming with us.” I watched Amelia leave us both and I took Ethan out of the room.

“Get Cassie to get her ready by tomorrow.”

I watched the silence fading with Ethan’s voice over my head.“Are you okay?” His face looked so questioning and quite different from the real question he asked me. I just sniffed the blunt air and ignored him like he had ignored me all through. I’m not suffering that hard, I just couldn’t compare the hard feelings I’ll get if I was actually back at home. Ethan gave Damien a curious look, waiting for his answer. He was sure he’d accept her but Damien was quite unpredictable and made his decision as he wanted to. “I can’t say yet, I may give her a chance but not sooner. I can’t risk the pack in the hands of a fragile Luna. One that will stay and not run like my mum did. “You mean someone that will be able to fight alongside you?” “Yeah, a bit of Keila’s affectionate and concerned behavior.” “Amelia looks comfortable here though, have you asked her yet? “Ask her what?” “What she was doing behind that tree that night we were on patrol.” “I have, she refused to say.” Ethan gave a faint smile causing Damien to turn to him strongly. “Do you know why she’s not talking?” “Not so, but you’ve not given her the chance to speak on that and you’ve claimed her.” “If I lose a captive, I lose ten percent of my respect. No one dares to trespass into our pack. That is a rule everyone knows.” Damien said with a firm utterance, like

My body was merely present in the room, but my soul had risen and was in the train of multiple thoughts and questions. My life had always been filled with a lot of unpleasantness, that I forgot the taste of happiness. That word no longer exists in my dictionary, all I have ever felt was pain, sadness and rejection. My heart aches terribly, it is a continuous feeling that my lonely soul has cleaved to.I turned to my right hand side and shut my eyes, trying to ward off the multiple thoughts that kept flooding in. But I couldn't. My existence was something I should always brood on. I grumbled and turned again to my left hand side, shutting my eyes more firmly and trying to summon sleep to my troubled soul. Amelia's POV I laid on the bed gently, trying my best to be at total composure and best behaviour. I cannot afford to annoy Damien's Mum, not when she decided to be nice to me… Much to my surprise I was able to delve slowly into the land of sleep. Her soft snore was therapeutic that I had forgotten half of my trouble and pain. The chatters among the midnight creatures served as a sweet lullaby. How I wish this could last forever… But I was interrupted by sudden giggled that slipped into my ears. I forced my eyes open and to my greatest surprise I was on my feet, in a field of dandelions. A young girl run passed me laughing out loud, a man emerges from only moon knows where and began chasing the little girl making her laughter increase. I recognized the little girl to be me, the happy me that knew no trouble or pain. Finally, the young man; my supposed Father caught me. Damien’s POV I stuttered, trying to get up from the sleep I was unable to get, for the hours that passed through the night, it was really awful. I should at least get some sleep but couldn’t. The noise out there in the outer compound got into my head and I fastened my steps to get outside. “I should check on Amelia first.” I thought. Changing my direction to her room, I knocked and got no response. “She might be in the bathroom, but it’s just five in the morning” “What? Ethan, were you following me?” “It’s not just you that can't sleep, Alpha. I watched you come out of your room. The boys are ready to leave but you don’t seem ready.” “I’ll come back to that later, let’s find Amelia first.” “She’s not a kid, she's probably still resting.” I knocked harder, ignoring Ethan’s words, if Amelia gets out of my grip, anyone behind it will be punished. I’ve brought down my anger and fast judgment all because of my mother. “Open up, Amelia.” I cried behind the locked door,

Her smile, bright and wide and her voice when she spoke, “Can I come along too?” She said, stepping in the house without being invited. “Sapphira?” “I met her at the town square, she was busy being the sapphira that she is.” Alpha Terry, the one who was gone for a while said, “Amelia!” I almost forgot there was a little boy in the house, Nick saw me standing behind the door, yet a bit visible, except Damien couldn’ see me. That I could tell, he searched the house and didn’t notice or think to find me in my room. Amelia's PovI watched Damien closely, my heart racing as I saw the glow in his eyes slowly calm again. His breathing became more regular, and the tension in the room lifted slightly. The way his gaze softened almost made me forget the chaos that had just unfolded. But we both know that couldn't happen. He stood up as if nothing had happened, like he hadn't just nearly lost control, like I hadn't nearly lost him. My heart was beating fast in my chest, and I felt my anger bubbling up. "Damien!" I couldn’t hold it in anymore. "Why are you acting like nothing happened?” I asked, my anger was clear. “I'm sure Ethan has packed the necessary things. And has Cassie gotten you ready? You should know we are leaving.” He said, moving round the room, his eyes moved all through the parts of the room and I watched him panic. “What are you doing? Why are you just ignoring everything? You can’t just knock out like that and expect me to forget it! What the hell is going on with you?" I was so

Amelia's Pov My hands were shaking as I helped Damien onto the bed. He was completely down and asleep, or so I thought. Blood soaked his clothes, the deep stains spreading across his chest, and I could only imagine how bad his wounds must be. His skin was pale, too pale. His breathing was shallow, and I had to remind myself that he was still alive, still here. I couldn’t lose him.Cassie stood in the corner of the room, her eyes wide, her body rigid. She looked almost... terrified, as if something far worse was on the horizon. But I didn’t have time to focus on her right now. I quickly unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it away from his body, trying to keep my hands steady as I cleaned him off. His body was still warm, but the blood that covered him made it feel like he was slipping away. I wiped away the stains as best I could, taking great care not to cause him any pain. He was unconscious, but I didn’t want to take any chances. The blood was drying fast, and I worked frantically,

I had just told him that I didn’t want to become Luna, something I thought I meant at the time, but now, as I looked at him, I wasn’t so sure anymore. Before I could even process my own emotions, Ethan burst into the room, looking so sharp and frantic. “Sapphira’s gone,” he said, his words crashing into the silence.Damien’s face twisted in horror as he shot up from his seat, his body tense with panic. “What do you mean, gone?” he yelled, his voice filled with panic. “Why wasn’t she stopped?!” His words were laced with anger, his fists clenched as he stormed towards the door, shoving past the guards. The scenes came back in a flash and I yelled. “I'm not giving up on you, Amelia. We've started this, and we'll both end it.” I whispered in such despair. What could have been better than taking what I deserved? Kept and separated from the life I should own, only to come back and find it gifted to someone else. I couldn't stand living my life up to someone else's. Especially not Amelia, she had everything, I didn't even get a mate, and no one knew I was part of the silver moon pack. Staring at the walls that I was locked up in, I should have known Damien wouldn’t take things lightly. I should have planned better. I should have had a backup escape route. If he truly loved me, I should have seen that properly. I did see it, but I didn't want to hurt myself. Everything just got too far as I've seen what I needed, to be strong. I groaned, my body trembling as I tried to lift my arms. My wrists burned from the silver chains, the cuts were deep and raw. My fingers fumbled with the dagger Damien had thrown to me, and my hands were slick with blood. Every movement sent a jolt of agony through my body, but I gritted my teeth, refusing to give up. The moment my foot crossed the boundary, a surge of power shot up around me. A barrier. Before I could react, figures emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowed with malice. The forces of the Silver Frost Pack surrounded me in an instant, their weapons drawn, their snarls echoing in the cold night air. Amelia laid on the floor, her body limp, her face battered and bruised. Blood smeared her pale skin, and her wrists were bound tightly with silver chains, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She lifted her head weakly, her eyes finding mine, filled with desperation. "Damien…" she whispered. "Please… save me." A sharp pain tore through my chest at the sight of her so helpless. I couldn't afford to lose her ever. “You all should scatter around and find her! Find her and bring her back to me, alive!” I roared, my voice cutting through the night like a blade. My warriors flinched but obeyed immediately, shifting and dashing into the darkness, their noses to the ground. My pulse pounded in my ears, my body tense with rage. Whoever took her would pay. They would seek death and would not find it. I clenched my fists, my claws digging into my palms. I was losing control. Again. The space looked familiar, beautiful, warm, and inviting. But something was off. The bed felt too firm, the scent in the air unfamiliar. I sat up cautiously, my heartbeat quickening. This wasn’t my room. It was a replica, but not quite right. My hands trembled as I ran them over the soft sheets. Before I could gather my thoughts, the door creaked open, and a large figure stepped inside. “Amelia,” a deep voice said, one that sent chills down my spine. I froze. That voice… it couldn’t be. “It’s been months,” I whispered, “Uncle?” He stepped fully into the room, I thought I’d left behind forever when I ran from Silver Frost Pack. “Surprised to see me?” he asked. “What are you doing here? Why would you kidnap me? If my father asked you to look for me, at least do it in a polite way, right?” I demanded, trying t

Damien’s Pov Why would she do that? Why would she run just because of a mere necklace, what was she hiding that was so crucial? My mind replayed every detail of her absurd behavior. It didn’t make sense, none of it did. Why was she so determined to run off, all because of a necklace? A simple, insignificant trinket. I clenched my fists, trying to suppress the rising frustration inside of me. It had been a full day since she locked herself away, and I still didn’t have answers. She refused to see me, refused to eat, refused to give me even the slightest explanation. I even tried to make her eat and sent her words to just see me and I wouldn't hurt her, but every passing moment only deepened my unease. She never came out. I made my way out and got to talk to Cassie. She was the only one that could help get her out. As far as I was concerned she was the only one who could talk and listen to Amelia. “Cassie,” I said, my voice filled with so much worry, “have you been to see Ameli
