Amelia’s POV
“Oh! Really? Really? You think you can just come in here and do whatever you want, have you forgotten I’m the alpha and you have to listen to me? Amelia, get your butt out of here.” Damien spout angrily. His voice beckons fury, I could feel the whole room tremble, Ethan could not do anything and I just stood still maintaining my order before things go wrong again. Damien took a few steps close to me, in his bathrobe, looking so handsome, and with each step he took it was pleasing and enticing. I almost forgot his fierce words, and that stopped when he finally got to me. “Didn’t you hear me? Get out and back to where you should be, and one more unnecessary act, I’m throwing you into a punishment that you will regret ever talking back at me.” I shivered at his words, maybe I made a mistake trying to talk him into releasing me. He never will, I guess. I mean, I feel so stuck, I want to stay and I can’t even make my own choices around here. I feel so suffocated. “You still standing? Move!” He yelled. I jerked out of my thoughts and turned back slowly, walking out of him. I felt like Ethan should have done something, rather than standing there talking like nothing was going on. I’m so pissed. I could hear Ethan mumble some words, but I just had to make my feet swift. I jammed the door and felt a drop of tear on my face. I cried my eyes out after locking the door behind. I just couldn’t imagine the feeling of staying out of my pack. I could just go back into my father’s loving arms but then, I was rejected in everyone’s presence. I walked far away and thought to go pour out my tears, back in the dark room that I was placed. I heard footsteps swiftly coming towards me. I wanted to run when a hand caught me. “You shouldn’t walk around and storming into the Alpha’s room that way, he has no patience and wouldn’t listen to anyone.” Her eyes looked so deceiving and I got uninterested in her words. “And who are you” please leave.” “I’m sorry, just wanted to help. My name’s Cassie” She stretched out her hand for a shake and I got even more disgusted, but wanted to be in my best behavior. I really do not want to be, but if I have to stay here, then I have to feel so perfectly irritatedly fine. If that’s even a word. I took out my hands and returned the shake, “Amelia” I said, with my eyes turned. “Thanks, not everyone gets so interested in someone like me. Not even this pack” “What do you mean someone like you?” I asked her trying to figure out what exactly was going on in the pack. If I could have a friend that loves talking, I might get along quickly with everything in the pack sooner. “Well, I was a captive of a four years ago” “Four years ago? I don’t get it.” Cassie took my hands and we both walked through the passage, and went through silently. “Were you taken as a captive?” Her voice wallowed in a bit of sorrow like she was feeling sorry for me. “Your eyes are swollen too.” In the absence of my response, she smiled and took my hands, looked straight into my eyes and whispered those soothing words, “You’ll be fine, Amy.” “It’s Amelia, Cass.” “Oh! I’m sorry.” She gave a brief smile and I felt comfort for a while. We kept on walking with no fear, but she warned we have to be back in the room before sunset. Everyone gets checked, with the thoughts that someone might escape. The deal with this pack is not losing the respect and fear they’ve earned so far. Damien surely has created a wall of fear at the coming in of the pack, inside and all around, that’s why no one dares to trespass. Mine is definitely a nightmare. Another young lady sighted us and ran towards us with smiles on her face. “You guys are happy here, aren’t you?” “At least we don’t get to see deaths everyday like before, but we’re expecting one soon.” Cassie saw the frightening look on my face, “Don’t worry, we’ll not be affected. The alpha gives us shelter ahead.” “How many wars have you witnessed?” “None actually, but we’ve heard stories.” “Should we be walking around like this?” “We do have time to talk, as long as we do not try to run away, no one gets punished.” “Oh! quite nice.” I mumbled beneath my voice with a refreshing figure. “How much do you guys eat?” “Three times daily, really healthy if you asked me.” I giggled at her words. “Did you just laugh?” No, I didn’t. “ I tried to cover up my amusement in her chat with me. “I get it, you feel suffocated, right?” “A little, and a bit disgusted with the way he yells.” “Yet, you are the first person he didn’t kill nor punish for talking back.” I looked at her in surprise, “Yeah, you heard me. I heard you guys when I was passing through the passages.” I guess.” I replied faintly. “I wasn’t sneaking, don’t get me wrong.” “I’m fine. I just got so pissed. Do you mind?” I said, pointing at the entrance that leads back to the gate back to everyone’s room. We’ve obviously walked far away and talk to the far end. “Yeah, we should get back.” I smiled within me with the joy that I have found a chat mate. Maybe I could stay afterall, it won’t be that bad if Damien doesn’t get on my nerves or if I stay quietly. I feel like a bad omen, it’s been weeks since I got here. And everyone has been so quiet and serious A few more days with cassie would probably change things. “We go to bars, you know? But not anymore, since you got here, since a war planning has been going on.” “What is with this wars?” “Actually, this park had a dreadful pack that turned out so many of the so called allies were enemies of the pack. Damien’s father died in the process and that was four years ago.” “And that left him devastated, and birth his grumbling?” “I don’t know, could be something else.” We walked closer to the passage and heard some sort of furious noise, cassie held my hands so firmly. I wasn’t so sure what was happening. I just held her hand like it meant life to me.Damien’s POV The sight of her not being in the room ached me, I don’t know why I felt like she’d run away. And her absence in this room turned me off. “Where the hell did she go to?” My hands flipped the mirror down, breaking it into pieces. My fury rose not seeing her immediately. It took about thirty minutes before Ethan showed up. “Without her? I swear, she’ll regret doing this!” “Calm down, my lord. She was just having fun with one of the damsels around.” “What are you saying? I want to see her here right now.” I took his hands, and said slowly and slowly. Ethan might have been the only one who has seen my miserability, His face comforts me, my childhood friend does a great deal as he shows love, and comforts me. “I’ll bring her here now.” “Yes, please. Do so.” Ethan left the room swiftly and I sat quietly on the bed waiting for this girl that tortures me with her disappearance. “My Lord, I’m so sorry. I just thought she needed a walk, since she’s unfamiliar with the pac
Amelia’s POVThe morning came so swiftly, I felt like I hadn't had any sleep. Her voice brought me up from my sleep.“Rise and shine, you have to start getting ready.”“Did he tell you to do this too?”“No, but he might have. He told me to get you ready by sunset today.”“I see.”“Come on, you’ll be fine.” She encouraged me like I had last night. Cassie’s presence has given me a lot of risen feelings to stay and get used to the pack house interests. I might have learnt a thing or two, like giggling and ignoring the crippled arrogance. We rode through the dark cold night, my face felt so pale and argued. I watched the silence fading with Ethan’s voice over my head.“Are you okay?” His face looked so questioning and quite different from the real question he asked me. I just sniffed the blunt air and ignored him like he had ignored me all through. I’m not suffering that hard, I just couldn’t compare the hard feelings I’ll get if I was actually back at home. Ethan turned back and looked
Ethan gave Damien a curious look, waiting for his answer. He was sure he’d accept her but Damien was quite unpredictable and made his decision as he wanted to. “I can’t say yet, I may give her a chance but not sooner. I can’t risk the pack in the hands of a fragile Luna. One that will stay and not run like my mum did. “You mean someone that will be able to fight alongside you?” “Yeah, a bit of Keila’s affectionate and concerned behavior.” “Amelia looks comfortable here though, have you asked her yet? “Ask her what?” “What she was doing behind that tree that night we were on patrol.” “I have, she refused to say.” Ethan gave a faint smile causing Damien to turn to him strongly. “Do you know why she’s not talking?” “Not so, but you’ve not given her the chance to speak on that and you’ve claimed her.” “If I lose a captive, I lose ten percent of my respect. No one dares to trespass into our pack. That is a rule everyone knows.” Damien said with a firm utterance, like
I never expected my mother to ask me such a question in a hurry, she might have been curious but would want to keep the question for later. I coughed and hinted Ethan to take her inside and watch over her, the others followed.“You didn’t answer me, Damien.”“Just a girl I wanted you to meet.”“Don’t tell me….”“No, no, I’m not sure about that yet, I’m still thinking of what to do with her, since she’s not even having any qualities of being a Luna.” “Of course she does. Bring her to me, let me see her well and touch her.”“Mum, I’m not ready for this. I just wanted to keep an eye on her, that's why I brought her along.”“I’m interested, she’s beautiful.”“Yeah, just the beauty and then she’s not even anything close to being a warrior. You know how I do my things.”“It’s for the best, and the freedom of the people in the pack. The last time everything changed was four years ago, now all we do is plan a war.”“Yes, and that’s why I need to check through her properly before I do anythin
Amelia's POVIt was dark. As dark as my life had been. Everywhere was dead silent, only the creeping sound from frogs and chirping of insects and birds could be heard. I laid on my back, my gaze focused on the ceiling. My body was merely present in the room, but my soul had risen and was in the train of multiple thoughts and questions. My life had always been filled with a lot of unpleasantness, that I forgot the taste of happiness. That word no longer exists in my dictionary, all I have ever felt was pain, sadness and rejection. My heart aches terribly, it is a continuous feeling that my lonely soul has cleaved to.I turned to my right hand side and shut my eyes, trying to ward off the multiple thoughts that kept flooding in. But I couldn't. My existence was something I should always brood on. I grumbled and turned again to my left hand side, shutting my eyes more firmly and trying to summon sleep to my troubled soul. I just need to take a deep breath and relax, forget about everyth
Amelia's POV I laid on the bed gently, trying my best to be at total composure and best behaviour. I cannot afford to annoy Damien's Mum, not when she decided to be nice to me…Much to my surprise I was able to delve slowly into the land of sleep. Her soft snore was therapeutic that I had forgotten half of my trouble and pain. The chatters among the midnight creatures served as a sweet lullaby. How I wish this could last forever…But I was interrupted by sudden giggled that slipped into my ears. I forced my eyes open and to my greatest surprise I was on my feet, in a field of dandelions. A young girl run passed me laughing out loud, a man emerges from only moon knows where and began chasing the little girl making her laughter increase.I recognized the little girl to be me, the happy me that knew no trouble or pain. Finally, the young man; my supposed Father caught me. He took little me into his arms and began tickling me with his fingers making the little me laugh out loud.I studie
Damien’s POVI stuttered, trying to get up from the sleep I was unable to get, for the hours that passed through the night, it was really awful. I should at least get some sleep but couldn’t. The noise out there in the outer compound got into my head and I fastened my steps to get outside. “I should check on Amelia first.” I thought. Changing my direction to her room, I knocked and got no response. “She might be in the bathroom, but it’s just five in the morning” “What? Ethan, were you following me?”“It’s not just you that can't sleep, Alpha. I watched you come out of your room. The boys are ready to leave but you don’t seem ready.”“I’ll come back to that later, let’s find Amelia first.”“She’s not a kid, just resting.” I knocked harder, ignoring Ethan’s words, if Amelia gets out of my grip, anyone behind it will be punished. I’ve brought down my anger and fast judgment all because of my mother. “Open up, Amelia.” I cried behind the locked door, or the door that I thought was lo
Amelia’s PovI stood behind the door, watching every of their moves, Damien looking for me like he lost a treasure and he claims not to want me as his mate. Tch, joker!. I bet I could deal with him, better than his mum could, and just when I was about to show my face to the aggressive being, a figure dressed classically, her hair dripped right behind her back. Her smile, bright and wide and her voice when she spoke,“Can I come along too?” She said, stepping in the house without being invited. “Sapphira?”“I met her at the town square, she was busy being the sapphira that she is.” Alpha Terry, the one who was gone for a while said, “Amelia!” I almost forgot there was a little boy in the house, Nick saw me standing behind the door, yet a bit visible, except Damien couldn’ see me. That I could tell, he searched the house and didn’t notice or think to find me in my room. The little boy ran towards me and hugged me.“I knew you were always this beautiful,” he complimented.“Thank you,
